No spa or sauna.
Hotel was close to where our family lives in Santa Rosa. A lot of good restaurants in the area. Room was very clean and tastefully decorated. A bit on the small size, but we were there only one night, so it really didn't bother us. We were able to bring our dog in the room, which really was a nice plus for us. Staff very friendly. Continental breakfast was a nice addition.
Nothing bad to say about hotel. It would have been nice to have an area right next to the hotel that was landscaped with lawn to walk dog. Area next to hotel was an empty lot, with uneven dirt and gravel. We went to park across the street to walk the dog, and there are a few unhoused people there. If I was without my husband I probably wouldn't have walked the dog there. The park is perfectly fine during the day.
We really enjoyed staying at Hotel E in Santa Rosa. From the check-in, to valet, to checkout it is a quality establishment. We stayed in a king room on the 4th floor and found it very quiet. However, we were there on a Sunday and Monday night, so the area was quiet. The hotel staff did tell us that if the square is busy, it can get loud in the hotel because it is an old building.
The room felt very quality with nice furnishings, a nice bathroom, a nice shower, and nice linens. We stayed at six other places in the past two weeks and this was our top location for quality.
Even though they include breakfast, it's not much more than good coffee, hard boiled eggs, packaged pastries, fruit, and some cereal, but it was enough to get us started for the day, though.
The real question is, would we stay here again, and the answer is a definite yes. It's close to everything downtown and it's a top notch hotel.

Staff are always AMAZING and helpful! The location is a perfect home base for traveling around the area - Bodega Bay, Point Reyes, SF, dining in Sebastopol, etc are all reachable by car, or transit.
Summer activities planned by the city are available throughout the week, right outside at the town square! Coffee is excellent and local. Enology, their wine bas has a great selection of nibbles for an afternoon snack or drinks before or after dinner!
Breakfast could be improved, but it's not a deal breaker. There are numerous options for cafes within walking distance should you want more to start your day on.
It was/is a fantastic hotel!! Staff, especially the young man at night were fantastic!! Warm, friendly, helpful, thoughtful and very welcoming!! Easy check in! The place is immaculately clean and comfortable, great location right in downtown Santa Rosa! We were on a two week road trip & stayed in six hotels and the Hotel E was far & away the best one we stayed in! Had my best nights sleep in the Hotel E! We will definitely be coming back!! Oh and the coffee is outstanding!!! So few hotels coffee are!!
