The breakfast was excellent and the property was clean
A little far from restaurants
This hotel lives up to it's name. We had a very comfortable two-night stay. The room was very clean and the bed was comfortable. There was a couch and chair, along with a desk to sit at. There was also a sink, refrigerator and microwave so we could stay in the room without having to go back out looking for dinner. It was very clean and quiet. Bonus points for the pool and hot tub being clean and in working condition.
I’m sorry but there was nothing I liked especially since I did not stay there due to a poorly handled issue regarding my stay booked through booking.com. I ended up paying for a room I did not even use.
Dear Manager,
I’m writing to express my frustration with what was supposed to be our first stay on a much anticipated and long awaited family vacation with our grown children. We arrived at Comfort Inn & Suites in Alamosa, Colorado at approximately 9 pm on 7/26/26, and checked into our room. Upon entering the room I immediately realized it was not the room I booked through booking.com. I went downstairs and was told that the room was nonrefundable. I was not offered other accommodations which at the very least would have been a good gesture in providing great customer service. We drove 9 hours and were ready for a restful night of sleep. I was told that it was booking.com’s fault for having posted the wrong pictures on their website. However, booking.com tells me each establishment is responsible for their own pictures. So you can understand the predicament I’m in and why I’m so frustrated. I showed the pictures to the gentleman at the desk and asked if he had any rooms with a separate bed away from the couch bed as pictured on booking.comas well as on choicehotels.com’s website. He replied that there was a room like it but the person in it had been there for a week. I made my reservation on June 15, 2026. I pulled up choicehotels.com’s website and it showed there was still one of the king suites with separate space available, but the young man said it wasn’t. The gentleman also stated that he gets that from a lot of people, saying the room isn’t the one they booked. He also added, that’s what happens when you book with a third party. I’ve used booking.com for years without incident. It’s obvious the wrong pictures are posted and are falsely advertising a king suite with a separate bedroom space. I’m attaching photos I took of our room as well as pictures from booking.com and choicehotels.com. I understand you recently dropped your rates as you were not selling out which explains why you may not be eager to refund the stay.
We had a 1 night stop over and left as soon as we had breakfast, had no issues.
Mattress was lumpy to me.
Breakfast
Nice easy going hotel. Good breakfast. A quick over night stop on our way to New Mexico. Breakfast was good. Our dog was happy. The room was clean, many good restaurants and gas stations close by. We arrived, we picked up dinner, we slept, we had breakfast and we left. Totally a good spot!
Staff
Good location. Clean rooms
Had ZERO hot water on Saturday morning.
Le petit déjeuner, la grande chambre, la piscine/spa, le personnel
La ville n’est pas super
Stayed here while visiting family in the San Luis Valley. Check-in was smooth and the room was ready early which we appreciated. Breakfast area gets a little crowded around 8am but the food stays fresh and they keep refilling. Good value overall.
Friendly staff. Nice lobby. Clean and comfortable room. In the town closest to Great Sand Dunes National Park.
There was a bad smell in the hallway. But the room was clean and comfortable.
We got the jacuzzi room and really enjoyed the patio - nice to sit outside with morning coffee even in cooler weather. Room was well maintained and housekeeping did a thorough job. The breakfast green chili is legit, definitely try it if you stay here.
Overall a very nice stay. This hotel is in the perfect location for great sand dunes NP - literally under 30 mins away, the room was clean, although this is an older hotel, and the breakfast was good. It is in a small town which has a lot of amenities. Overall, I would recommend to anyone visiting great sand dunes.
The Comfort Inn is a good, affordable option in the Great Sand Dunes area. It is certainly an older property with older furnishings, making it more on the average side. But while things are dinged and worn, the room is clean and the bed is comfortable. The breakfast is well stocked and a good start to the day. Lastly, the employee at the desk (younger guy from Louisiana) was super friendly at check in and a great welcoming representative of the hotel. If this were in a place with more options, I probably wouldn’t pick it as I think you could find a place with rooms in better condition. However, in a place with few options, this is a reliable one as the rooms are clean and staff are kind. For Alamosa, this should be a consideration despite my middling score.
