According to the Brazilian Federal Law 8.069/1990, minors under 18 years of age cannot check into hotels unless they are accompanied by their parents or a designated adult. If a minor is accompanied by an adult other than his parents, it is necessary to present a written authorization for the minor to check into the hotel. Such authorization must be notarized and signed by both parents, and presented along with notarized copies of their IDs.
If both or one of the parents are absent and are not staying with the minor, it is necessary to submit authorization for lodging done in person and signed by both parents or by the parent who is absent. This document must be notarized at the time of check-in.

It is a cool property and beautiful views. The bed was comfortable.
In dire need of maintenance, stained floors and curtains. Windows not sound proof, I could hear every car, bus and boombox that drove by. To crown my stay, I had no hot water to shower in the morning. I was truly disappointed as this used to be my favorite property in Rio. Had been to the hotel many many times. The gentleman at checkout only asked: did you call anyone?
EVERYTHING! It’s the best location in Rio by far, just between Copacabana & Ipanema. There is NO ROAD between the hotel and beautiful Ipanema beach. I think it may be the only hotel in Rio with this distinction. 10-15 minutes to Corcovado and Pão de Açucar. The hotel and rooms are lovely and well appointed (not fussy or fancy, just right). Intimate. The restaurant practically sits on the beach. Staff is SO nice and attentive without ever being intrusive. They were so good and fun with me speaking Portuguese. The food in the restaurant is quit good. The rooftop has an outrageous view, especially for sunset and very nice pool. Restaurant menu is served there. Can’t imagine staying anywhere else when in Rio.

Most of the staff was very kind and helpful, but they guy checking me in gave no information, so bad start

Confusing with no information at check in and he made me seem stupid not to have understood he gave me a intro card with me room card.
I didn’t understand breakfast was included and how it worked as no one explained.
I checked in the room was dirty and I paid extra high prices in this period and my room was constantly noise as there was a big engine / ventilator outside my window.

In general very nice, up market, very clean, comfortable stay and convenient with a good location. I think they can do a bit more by the pool section, an upgrade with maybe a better pool and service. Besides that the rest was great, staff were nice and friendly

Amazing location. Beach service for drinks and chairs (the only freindly staff is here), balcony views, bikes.
Nothing worked, gym closed, only 1 working elevator for guests/staff, steam room was extremely hot and half the staff not friendly. The pool is a joke and dirty, small rooms. The hotel restaurant seems to be popular, the lobby is tinny, it gets really crowded! Def not woth the 350 dlls per night.
