La situation, la vue, le calme et la piscine
great place, good breakfast, very clean and quiet, I will go back.
all good

If you're looking for a one-of-a-kind experience that immerses you in the raw beauty of the Costa Rican rainforest, a stay at this remote jungle lodge is absolutely unforgettable. From the moment we arrived, we were struck by the lodge’s harmonious blend with its lush surroundings. Perched in the heart of the jungle, every aspect of the stay was thoughtfully designed to bring you closer to nature without sacrificing comfort.
The accommodations were rustic yet luxurious, with open-air rooms that let us wake up to the sounds of howler monkeys and exotic birds. Falling asleep to the soothing hum of the rainforest was pure magic. Despite the remoteness, the lodge offered impeccable service.
Breakfast was accompanied by breathtaking views of the jungle canopy.
What truly made this lodge exceptional was its commitment to sustainability and conservation. The eco-friendly toiletries underscored a deep respect for the environment, making us feel not just like guests, but like participants in preserving this incredible ecosystem.
If you’re looking for a chance to reconnect with nature, Calamocha lodge delivers in every way. It was an experience we’ll treasure forever, and we hope to return one day!
Clean, peaceful, quiet, beautiful views!
Important Info - The access road is in poor condition due to remote location and weather - recommend 4x4 only.
Property is selfing cooking which we enjoyed - be prepared. Breakfast is provided at an extra cost by the pool - the selection is average (no meat options).
Nothing!! Especially the manager!
Charged full balance, stayed zero nights, led to believe the property had AC when it did not.
It was one of the best places we stayed in Costa Rica. The property is amazing. The views are spectacular. It's a great immersive experience. If you are looking for a place to relax, this is the place.
It's a little far from Santa Teresa, but this is only a negative if you are looking for that type of atmosphere.
An exceptional property with breathtaking views, immersed in the jungle accompanied by the sounds of the sea.
Beautifully landscaped, chic and comfortable interiors and great facilities,
Nothing but mind the access roads to it, requires 4x4
The pool was amazing. The water was a lovely temperature and we enjoyed the incredible views especially the stars at night! The lodge was very spacious and neat. The kitchen had all the necessary utensils.
There is room for improvement regarding the breakfast set-up. The options are nice, but it would help to ask guests what time they would like to have breakfast. That way the breakfast is not standing out in the sun for two or more hours (E.g. food was made at like 7 am and placed on the table prior to our breakfast arrival). Unfortunately, we also noticed ants on the fruits and bread that was set-out.
While Veronique was hospitable as she welcomed us and helped us with information, the other staff on the premise were uninterested.
The breakfast is good. You get a full plate of fresh fruits, pancakes, eggs, avocado. There is coffee and a smoothy. I really enjoyed the breakfast. Also to connect with other guests.
Nothing.
The view was lovely, the room was stunning and very relaxing, and the bed was very comfortable and lovely towels
The owner was lovely and quite helpful
Breakfast was disappointing. Food left out before arrival and was not clear on what was on offer.
Was not clear that it was a self-catering facility. The kitchen needed the basics..... salt pepper oil or the options to purchase a food bundle - shops are roughly 15 min walk away (steep hill on the way back)
The pool and shared area is definitely the highlight of Calamocha Lodge! Enjoy it from sunrise to sunset (and beyond!), spot the wildlife from the pool and unwind in the comfy lounge chairs.
We also loved our casita, clearly built and cared for with love. It felt private, yet we could sleep with all windows open at night. We didn’t get to use the very cute kitchen a lot, but it was definitely well equipped.
It somehow felt a bit bizarre to check-in on our own at the lodge, but we learnt that freedom is actually part of the spirit of the place.
