Ah, Kallio.
The location is very convenient with the tram stop right nearby, but if you prefer to walk, everything is reachable within 30 minutes. We had a twin room for the price of 81€/night, which in this area is closer to a budget option than a standard price. That comes with a few downsides.
We were set on the 2nd floor. Our view from the room was so bad that it was actually hilarious. The room had NO kettle, coffee or tea. I've never been to a hotel that doesn't provide a kettle. One could be rented at the lobby for the price of 10€, but realistically, you can go to Lidl and buy a kettle for less than that - and OWN it. Why would you RENT a kettle for 10€? It's as basic an amenity as you can get. As an avid coffee drinker, I was personally insulted by that. The room information listed kettle as a standard equipment, but I guess not. I've seen the hotel respond to other reviews complaining about the lack of a kettle; the response is always "you can rent one from the lobby". Yes, dears, but it's 2026 and we've grown accustomed to at LEAST having the tools to boil water in our room. Please.
Nevermind the view and the kettle; the room could've been a little cleaner. The bedsides had stains and the bathroom smelled horrible (due to dry floor drains; common in Finland when a room hasn't been used in a while). We had to pour soap and water down the drains ourselves to fix the smell issue. I would normally expect this to be taken care off by the cleaners before our arrival, but we survived ;)
The most hilarious thing of all was the bathroom door; it was crooked by several centimeters. To close it fully, we had to yank it with full force. This of course made noise each time, a loud bang. I fear if we had any neighbors in the other rooms, they heard us every time.
The breakfast was OK, but nothing spectacular. Three types of cereal, two or three types of cheese and a few cold cutlets, tiny pieces of pie, coffee from an automatic dispenser. It was OK, for the price. We did not have to leave hungry.
For 20€ more, you can get a late check-out, which we gladly accepted.
All in all, if we had paid a little less, I might overlook the kettle and the door. The view was just funny. But for this price, I can rent an Airbnb - and especially in cities like Helsinki, hotels are competing for each guest with those kinds of places. I would consider that really seriously.
And buy those kettles for each room, seriously.

Very good location, clean and friendly staff
There is no minibar and kettle in the room.
Suurepärane arukoht, kui soovid külastada kultuuriasutusi. Hommikusöök on hea.
Comfortable beds, friendly staff, convenient location and good breakfast. The room was spacious for the price and featured a tv and a couch. All in all a good stay in a budget room in an older hotel. Late checkout was only 20€, which we gladly paid to get a nap before heading on.
The room was a little worn and torn. The bathroom door was crooked and needed to be pulled hard to shut all the way. The beds had stains (not on the sheets, but the bedsides), and the bathroom shower smelled horribly before rinsing the floor with soap and water. The view was so bad it was funny, but foe a budget room I do not expect a view. I expected however a kettle for tea and coffee but that cost an additional 10€, which I've never seen before in any budget hotel, hostel or motel. For 10€ you can buy a kettle from Lidl and own it :) So that was weird.
Sijainti oli hyvä ja hotellin tilat olivat siistit.
