Shabby chic property with the one of the beg views on the island. Very old house covered into a hotel with steep stairs and paper thin walls. So would recommend depending on the price you have to pay. Don’t expect high end.
Thin walls, untrained staff, bar closed on weekend in June. Very small room
But cozy.
Great location, nice porch, across from the pool. Could walk down to the beach. Love their bar overlooking the water. Nice area for biking
Nothing
Loved the pool did not use it but happy there is a pool for future bookings also loved the availability of beach chairs and lounge chairs on the beach for guests if the hotel!
Didn’t realize there was multiple sites for this hotel was expecting to be in the main house….wasn't disappointed but surprised
Perfect location and setting
Liked Everything but when we first arrived to check in were brought to a different room than I had booked. Front desk staff were understanding however and after a bit of time our correct Room was ready.
No employee at hotel from early evening til morning. All doors to very public street unlocked all night. Felt unsafe, my husband agreed. Door kept cracked open to creepy basement with light on. Very little lighting otherwise. Air stuffy, told at first not to open windows. Later sent email that ‘split’ air system does not heat, use base board, turn knob, did so, smelt like burning dust, so shut right off. Slept in clothes per the above. Had to request refund on amenities charge added that night, did receive refund readily upon request as there was no food, no bar, no pool, bad tv, not many lights, no safety. All that being said, bed was comfortable, bathroom large and clean, room small, location good with excellent view of sunrise and interesting retro lobby.
The location was great, the view from our room was excellent.
An elevator, we were on the second floor and the stairs are very steep.
the location and accommodations were perfect, we would look to stay again, every time we are there.
housecleaning staff were all very pleasant, but did not feel that there was much of a cleaning done during the stay
Amazing stay! Cannot wait to come back. And McKenna at the front desk and Jess at the bar…. Dream team! Made us feel like
Family.
Disappointing accommodations for a disabilities hotel room which does not fully comply with ADA guidelines. Suggest owners acquaint with them to make improvements.
Front desk servicewas great. The location was convenient and we liked hanging out back and enjoying the water view. It’s a very, very old building that desperately needs updating. They painted swipes up the walls and added tons of surfboards as their decor (a shortcut to actually updating) The light fixtures are lovely and bohemian and the bathroom was updated but the shower is so small I can’t turn around (5’4”). The room was tiny. The rooms were pricey. Someone else might like it but it was not my cup of tea.
Great
I liked everything! Setting and ambiance inside and out is amazing. Beautiful views, great staff, walkable, great restaurant on site and others nearby .
If you are looking for a hotel that is on a beach, this is good place to stay. If you are looking for a quiet stay, this is not your place. This is a old wooden structure with no carpet in rooms or hallway. Noise transmission was much higher than most hotels. Our room was much smaller than expected and although we had an ocean view, the windows had labels that said “ enjoy the view but keep windows closed “. The windows had counterweights removed so they wouldn’t stay open. Disappointing to not be able to open ocean view windows and hear waves lapping on the shore.
Such a lovely place to stay. I stayed in a queen sea view corner room with 3 amazing windows overlooking the crashing waves. Had a windy day or two to enjoy the sweet and comfy indoor common spaces too. The outdoor areas are amazing and just a walk down the steps for long walks on the beach. Walk to all the best restaurants (ones that are still open, a lot close this time of year but still plenty to choose from) highly recommend dinner at Winfields, the bar at The Main (Spring House) and Kimberly’s, and lunch at The Mohegan.
