They staff the food
The room wasn’t fully cleaned the bathroom had hair in the tub and dirty
My favorite thing about the property was the location and the complimentary breakfast.
What I did not like about the property were a few things. First off would be a broken elevator when trying to enter the lobby and there only being 2 anyways is difficult. Also it is such a beautiful hotel but hardly has any available tv channels and the rooms do not allow smart tv features either. I also had a leaky pipe in the bathroom under the sink and the door to the room had to be slammed closed for it to shut. My last issue would be that even though I am a Hilton Rewards member and was asked about all of my information I was then told after providing all of this that I was unable to receive a late check out, even just by 1 hour.
Close to aquarium
First off we were directed to 3 different rooms, 2 that were pre-occupied by other people, then the 3rd room finally was empty but the door was jammed so my husband had to force it open Andrew had to slam it shut it was crazy. Then they offered a restaurant, we thought was convenient for the stay because we had children. We never could get anyone on the phone front desk or the restaurant. We had to walnut to the bar and we were told that we could not order due to staff shortage but then a party of 5 showed up right behind us asking to order food and they were not turned away? This happened both nights. We sat at the bar for 20 minutes and being ignored and having to go to front desk to get them to get the staff to acknowledge we were there to order waiting to order food and drinks 2nd night was told that there was limited food and were had children so we had to order out instead than again another person showed up while we were standing there and ordered off the full menu with no hesitation. Now I am not prejudice one bit and love all people, but I am white and the bar individuals working were black, and we witnessed this with several other white people being ignored. The individuals that were being treated properly were also black and not being ignored. It was very uncomfortable of how rude the staff was and to be told no and then the other people told yes? I don't understand. Secondly we had a room with a pull out cough with no sheets, blankets or pillows and were told that that housekeeping staff had them locked out for the night and we couldn't get blankets or towels either. For this to be such a large hotel chain and paid so much for the room was very disappointing. Not to mention the $24 parking on top of everything too.
The breakfast is great and the free drinks for happy hour is nice.
My bath tub kept clogging up and the water was never really hot.
staff were friendly and helpful. easy access to conference center and nice lounge spaces.
room was big in size and accommodating that way but the shampoo unit fell off the wall in the shower. No one refilled by coffee and creamer/sugar condiments the second day. There was also roaches on the counter close to the coffee maker when I turned on the light in my room the next morning.
Everything but the lobby, where you check in… We couldn’t find it!
You need better communication on how to get to the lobby
As a 30th anniversary gift my husband and I were given tickets to an event on Feb 28th and were scheduled to meet our group at the Embassy Suites bar beforehand. It was our idea, we always stay at a Hilton when we travel for business or pleasure and while we had never been to the Cincinnati one, we anticipated kind staff. We arrived at 5:50 pm and while the bar had several people mingling around, no one was seated for dinner and the area was fairly empty but everyone seemed to have a drink in hand. There was one man to our left, who had been served, but other than that we were the only ones. The bartender saw us and when I started to order she walked away to the other side of the bar and began talking with a gentleman who was walking up to the bar. She began a conversation with him, walked back to us and made him a drink in front of us and then walked back to him and continued her conversation. It was 6:01 pm at this point. When she carried his credit card to the cash register I said, "May we please order two Old Fashioneds when you have a moment?" She didn't look at us, although clearly she heard us, we were less than a foot away. Then two older ladies began walking to the bar. She took their order before they reached the bar and even suggested drinks. Then she walked over to us and made their drinks in front of us. After she delivered the drinks she proceeded to walk over to the other side of the bar and she began talking to the other lady bartender about lids. At this point it was 6:04. My husband walked to the other side of the bar thinking maybe the other bartender might help us so we wouldn't be late. Then the first lady asked the gentleman beside me who had the drink if he'd like a beer. When there was no one else left she grabbed the bourbon and practically growled, "two Old Fashioneds." I simply said, "yes, please." At this point it was 6:07 pm. I handed her my credit card the moment she put the glasses in front of me. Since it was 10 minutes past when we were supposed to meet our friends, my husband left to catch up with them. He and I didn't get to enjoy a 30th wedding anniversary cocktail at the bar, not to mention we felt invisible, disappointed, angry, and frustrated. And had to pay $25 for cocktails we didn't have time to drink. The extremely rude, unprofessional, frowning, condescending bartender was the lady on the same bar side as the ballroom that had a sign that talked about A Detective Dinner working from 5:50 pm - 6:30 pm.
The location was great!
When we got there, their systems were all down and we could not check in so we had to go to the birthday party and come back and check in before we went to bed. We had reservations for a king suite and when we got into the room, there were cockroaches everywhere!
They did give us another room, but it had two double beds in it, the beds were awful. At least there wasn’t any cockroaches! I did not even want to stay there however we had already had a couple drinks and that was the whole reason for getting the room.
This is my second time staying here. I had no complaints the first time; however, the second time, I had a multitude of issues. I stayed here for a business trip along with my family, which should have been covered by my company, and all our rooms were supposed to have been previously allocated. However, none of our rooms seemed to be allotted ahead of time. This was a recurring issue with many of my colleagues, and overall proved to be detrimental to our experience with this hotel. The following are a few things I have noticed in my own experience here.
Parking and initial observations.
- There was no valet service, even though I noticed a sign stating that there was.
- The elevators reeked of cigarette smoke.
Check in and service:
- We initially received a room that already had guests inside it.
- We had moved to another room, but the keycard did not work. Once we got inside, however, there were already another guest's belongings inside the room.
- We moved to another room, where there were guests inside.
- We were forced again into another room that we had thought would be the final one, but twice the keycard did not work. We later got kicked out of that room since another guest seemed to have a reservation.
- We transferred to another room, where there were guests inside.
- We relocated to the final room, but the keycard did not work.
- The customer service was terrible. I went down there to change rooms, but the clerk had a horrible attitude and severely upset me.
- My daughter went down there in my place, since I was not in the right state of mind, and the receptionists would not tell her anything and did not answer her questions. She was upset and came to me crying.
- We received "compensation" for the severe inconveniences in the form of a box of snacks. A staff member looked through those snacks and took one.
The rooms and overall atmosphere
- The first room that we were kicked out of due to a previous reservation reeked of cigarette smoke. The overall atmosphere felt sketchy and unsafe.
- The final room we ended up staying at had multitudes of stains, notably on the table and carpet. The general atmosphere of this hotel felt sketchy and cold, unlike any other hotel I have stayed at.
Overall:
The atmosphere is not enjoyable; it is frequently loud, and there are constantly people running through the halls or being noisy in an adjacent room.
The service is horrible, did not help, and severely upset both me and my daughter.
The rooms are disgusting. There are stains everywhere, and they often have a smoky smell.
It is difficult to park, there is no valet service, and the parking area is in a questionable location.
The hotel itself seems to be severely outdated; this is most noticeable inside the rooms.
I do not recommend staying here.
My friend got to the hotel after a really hard tiring day went upstairs and her room was already taken, and someone was in it. Shewent back downstairs to go ask for a different room and they gave her the room but again the room door wouldn’t open and it was given someone else and they went back downstairs again and they gave her a room, but they gave them a room that my other teammate had and then they had switch it again and they offered the other teammates room. They finally got a room. It’s room 819 and the key card didn’t work. They had to call the people they came upstairs to open the door and they’re giving them emergency key cards because now they’re opening they triedthe P card that they were given two times and it still didn’t open.
They breakfast was great everyone in kitchen was friendly. They check-in was terrible they didn’t have a room ready for us fora hr and then tried to change my room from double queen to something else wasn’t happy the guy tried tell me I booked thru a 3rd party. After they already took my money
They was they gave us a room at 7 and then couldn’t even use the drink tickets. They tried to tell me they hold our stuff to swim cause they room wasn’t clean.
Breakfast
Checking in process was very slow. They would not check us in early. There was twenty people at the same time.
With only two desk workers.
Everything was wonderful from checking in to checking out.
The breakfast buffet and omelettes were not as good as usual at our other Embassy stays.
The staff wasn’t the friendliest and the room could have been cleaner. I had to move from our first room due to a strong bad smell.
Breakfast was great
Room was not ready for check in 2 hours past the check in time which made us late to our function. Got to the room and smelled super musty.
