Let's do the time warp - and enjoy it.
Pros:

I find myself conflicted, because by my normal tastes I shouldn't like the Saxonville, but I really did. It's like stepping back 40 years, but the look has been meticulously maintained and is immaculate. The restaurant menu, similarly, but it is well done by a great restaurant team. So I am happy to praise the Saxonville for doing well what it sets out to do.

The porridge and kipper for breakfast were excellent.

Private parking is visitor gold in Whitby and I was grateful for it.

Cons:

Lots when I arrived and nothing when I left. 🤔

Loved it - would go again
Pros:

Excellent breakfast, really good service from friendly attentive staff. Evening meal very good as well with plenty of attention paid to the fact that I am gluten intolerant. Loved the traditional look and atmosphere, perfect for a stress free break. Close to all the attractions.

Cons:

Wi-fi not very reliable but that was true of the whole area so not the fault of the hotel.
