Very good apart from the shower problem.
Pros:

Location is excellent from the train station.
The room was comfortable and clean. The bed (single) was vey comfortable.
Breakfast was available early and the dining room well lid out . Good food.
The concierge was wonderful - so helpful getting me and my case to the airport bus.

Cons:

The shower was a problem.
Shampoo, conditioner and body wash were not clearly labelled and too far away from the shower.
The shower water flowed into the bathroom soaking the bath mat and wetting shoes.
Also needed more staff on busy Thursday night check-in.

Fabulous old world hotel close to Southern Cross Station.
Pros:

The old world style and spaciousness. We had a very quiet room. Really lovely fresh breakfast.

Pros:

Both my husband & I enjoyed the hotel as it was directly opposite the railway station, staff were most helpful & pleasant, the Alexander Bar restaurant served excellent food & our room was most comfortable.

Cons:

Nothing, for us it was perfect & we look forward to future stays there.

Perfect location.
Pros:

Lovely hotel with excellent facilities and a very very short walk to Spencer St station and the accompanying DFO. The rooms were impeccable - very clean, very comfortable and very quiet. The beds were excellent and the staff so friendly and helpful .
