We stayed at the Courtyard Pittsburgh Airport location for 3 nights in early February and this was by far the worst experience we have had at any hotel ever. The hotel was undergoing a major renovation – which was not mentioned when we booked the rooms last year. There was no escaping walking through construction - hallways, stairwells, elevator, etc. Dust and noise everywhere. We were woken up every morning before 8:30am by construction noise. Even Sunday morning! The hotel should have been closed until the renovation was completed.
The hotel advertises a Bistro Dining Facility with refreshing breakfast, dinner, and cocktail options. The breakfast menu posted on the wall looked pretty good – French toast, eggs your way, pastries, etc. Turns out there is no chef on weekends and our breakfast options were limited to a couple pastries, microwave burrito, or yogurt. And no dinner on weekends either. Sounds like false advertising to me. Since we could not get dinner at the hotel, we decided to get takeout food to watch the Super Bowl in the lobby by the fireplace and big TV. Turns out the hotel was hosting a Super Bowl party for the construction workers there. Good for them; not so good for us.
When we returned home and checked our bill we found out that we had been charged $10/day for parking! This charge was not mentioned on our Summary of Charges email when we booked the room and nobody asked us when we checked in if we even had a car. Maybe ¼ of the parking spots were taken up by piles of snow and construction materials and containers and we were hard pressed to find a parking spot at times.
To say we are disappointed with this hotel is an understatement. Marriott used to be better than this.
We are Marriott Bonvoy members and try to stay at a Marriott wherever we travel. We had three rooms for our entire family on February 6-8, 2026 for a family celebration. On February 1, we received a "Plan for your upcoming stay" email and buried in the text was a small notation that renovation was taking place. This was the first we heard of this. We booked these rooms on November 18, 2025.
Upon check-in, we were told that the only way to our room via an elevator, which was on the opposite end of the building, was either outside (there were snow piles everywhere in the parking lot and the windchill was -5) or through the construction. We had luggage so we went through the construction. Both wings of the hotel on both floors are under construction at the same time so there was no way to get to the elevator without going through the construction. It was nasty!! There was so much dust in the air that workers had dust masks on, which we, unfortunately, did not (see attached pic). When we got to the elevator, it also was a mess. Construction dust was literally everywhere and clung to our coats! As we exited the elevator, we again were in a work zone! Ugh. We decided to try the stairs next time. The stairwells were downright danger zones. The fronts of each step were stripped off and laying on the step itself. Tools and ladders were everywhere. This hotel was not fit for visitors.
Secondly, the small notation regarding the "renovation" also stated that construction would take place between 10am and 5pm on weekends. We were awakened both days with heavy machinery at 7:30am!
But it doesn't stop there! We trudged through the "hazmat" zone on Saturday morning only to find that there is no chef on weekends! So much for a fresh, delicious breakfast!
To top it all off, on Super Bowl Sunday, the entire lobby was taken over by the hotel for a party for the construction workers! What are the paying guests supposed to do? We were planning on eating takeout food and watching the game in the lobby! We had to do so in their room.
After returning home, we found out we were charged $10 a day for parking! No one even asked us if we had a car! So much of the parking lot was unplowed in addition to the spaces the construction trailers took up that there were no spots left for guests! We literally were told it was okay to park in handicapped spots!
Bottom line, this was an absolutely awful stay! You cannot operate a hotel with that much work going on. This hotel should be shut down to finish the construction. We are not sure where we will stay next time we are in town. Marriott needs to do better!

special shout out to Kellie, the shuttle driver, who made sure that my friend and I got to the airport in plenty of time to catch up at 6 AM flight. She went above and beyond for us! She was friendly, cheerful and is definitely a wonderful asset to your company. Thank you again, Kellie.
Incredibly ignorant front desk, these guys make mistakes and when you call to correct they hangup on you and refuse to pick up you number. Pathetic customer service- double charge and no service to help clean it up. Do not go here.
While the hotel is being renovated currently, do not let that fool you!! The staff is top notch, the service is impeccable and the rooms are very clean and well presented. Plus now, an upgrade with a renovation!! When in town, ask For Danny at the bar, great service, friendly and makes you feel like you are at home. Always smiling and willing to go the extra mile.
