D´Margo Hotel

Es un lugar muy bueno cerca de la playa y la quinta avenida, su personal muy amable, limpio, solo un poco desgastado por el tiempo

Horrible place and staff. Very noisy hotel, the hotel does not look like at all like the photo. They make you check-in a front office, then move you to an other hotel, which is located right in the middle of the 4 main night club. I had a shared bathroom, without hot water obviously. Of course, your room does not have closed windows to make sure you can enjoy the street and night club noise / musique, so you cannot sleep.
Get away for that hotel, and there is cheaper and better place.

El checkin fue tardado, nos movieron a otro edificio el cual esta en el área de antros y era demasiado ruidoso de noche. El aire acondicionado no servia, tuvieron que repararlo.
Si es buena la ubicación, es céntrico y pasos de la playa. Tiene alberca aun que no es bonita. El personal es amable. Por el precio si esta muy bien, pero obvio no esperes lujos.

Increíble atención de Marisol.

The art across the buildings was great. Huge canvas that covered over blank or utility spaces really gave a good feel to here. The price was very fair. If you chose basic $20 American and $25 for AC. The rooms were nice enough. There is an area for hammocks and couches in the shade that over looks the street.

Pésima experiencia, supuse que no sería un hotel increíble por el costo, pero lejos de eso el aseo de la habitación, el trato del personal, se pusieron a lavar un corredor a las 7 am arrastrando una cubeta. No recomiendo este hotel en absoluto. Lo único excelente es su ubicación

Está muy cerca de la playa, pero los procesos de atención con el personal a cargo son demasiado lentos.

Un hotel a bajo costó a unos pasos de la playa. Tiene un ambiente muy relajado. Ampliamente recomendado

No es lo que parece, instalaciones muy feas al igual que la ropa de cama...

Es un Hotel horrible. Nada recomendable. Las camas son muy viejas, el ventilador casi a punto de caerse.
No realizaron limpieza durante los 3 días que estuve ahí y para colmo encontré una cucaracha. La peor experiencia que he tenido.

The property seemed unsafe. Very loud music from clubs. No screen in window. Air conditioner didn’t work. Toilet seat too small for toilet. Front desk person was asleep when we arrived. No outlets at all. But that being said, $20 was a very fair price for the night.

They want to charge extra for the AC, terrible WiFi, No windows so during the night really noisy

DO NOT BOOK HERE worst place ever, smelly, the manager was not only rude but a liar. I didn't stay a soon as walked in after waiting for 20 min they gave me my key to a room without AC and only had an old rusty fan. I went back immediately to let the manager know that I couldn't stay in that place. She told me that I had to contact Expedia immediately. Thankfully my travel agent found another place for me to stay with my daugther. I called expedia to follow up on the case and the manager had said that I stayed for few hours and left without telling anybody and I took the keys. I was beyond mad for this I told Expedia that I will call the local authorities to report this behavior towards tourist. I asked them to do not advertise them anymore for the tourist safety. I speak language and even that wasn't enough to deal with these people. I hope Expedia doesn't do business with them in the future. Please spend a little more and stay in a different place.
Playa del Carmen is a beautiful place and this hotel gives it a bad reputation. I hope this review is helpful for anybody thinking about staying in this place.
Note - I didn't get my money back I even gave them 3 dls cash for taxes . Expedia gave me a voucher but to be honest this experience should not have happened in the first place if Expedia doesn't do business with this hotel.

cleaning and household staff reasonably good... last day of my stay my room was not cleaned and there was no toilet paper for over 24 hours nobody bothered very little English spoken difficult to explain if your needs to these.. in Times Gone by I can imagine this was a beautiful property now it is very worn around the edges not up to Snuff

Decent, clean basic hotel.
