Nice location in Jose Ignacio
Pros:

The location is outside of the central part of Jose Ignacio in a very quiet and pleasant neighborhood. Reception area and outside pool and hot tub areas are very nice. Room was quiet and comfortable and the morning breakfast was excellent. An added bonus is it across the street from the excellent Marismo restaurant.

Posada ideal para estadía tranquila; buen servicio
Pros:

Fue una excelente opción para nuestra estadía. Justo equilibrio precio - calidad. Recepción amigable; excelente desayuno. Lugar tranquilo.. a pasos de un parador de playa brava y justo en frente de unos de los mejores restaurantes de José Ignacio. La vamos a adoptar para nuestras próximas estadías!

Wonderful stay in a great location.
Pros:

Great place! Mariana and Daniel (the owners), thankyou for a wonderful week, You put love and care to your Posada, and it shows. All your personnel are well trained and always with a smile on their faces.
The place is quiet and relaxed, in an excellent location. The breakfast is delicious, served from 9-12. Our room was comfortable, the bathroom of very good size, everything worked well,
Congratulations to the owners, for a well run and friendly Posada. We will return.
The pool and jacuzzi are a plus, perfect for mornings and evenings, before of after the beach.

Pros:

"Low key and high quality" seria la perfecta definición. El personal es muy, muy amable.

Overrated
Pros:

Highly over rated. Massive lack of confort in the room, not reaching the standard of a 2021 hotel at that price.

Overrated hotel that takes advantage of the hype of Jose Ignacio
Pros:

Overrated hotel which has none of the standard conforts an hôtel need; no restaurant or food at lunch and dinner, no tv in the room, no safe in the room, old broken shower, you have to ask almost everyday for hot water, you ear your neighbors going to toilet, walking and talking, no laundry service. I give 2 stars thanks to the staff who is really nice and do its best. It is a pity because the location is cool and there is a real potential to do better.

Perfect Stay with Amazing Staff
Pros:

Everything about our stay here was amazing. We were welcomed into the hotel and upgraded immediately. All of the staff, including Tina, the super friendly house dog were accommodating.
We had a campfire one night and relaxed in the hot tub another. The room was big with AC which worked perfectly and windows to open for a breeze. There is an awesome restaurant next door serving meat and vegetarians options. You can walk to the beach from here but we preferred to drive to a more populated part with the beach chairs, umbrella and beach towels the hotel provided. The breakfast consisted of pastries, fruit and Real eggs made exactly to order. If you are looking for a little slice of peaceful heaven with reliable WiFi - this is your place! We really felt at home here. Thank you!

Wonderful staff, lovely relaxing property
Pros:

We picked this spot on a whim while we were headed up the East Coast of Uruguay, and all our expectations were exceeded. The staff was super kind, the grounds were gorgeous -- so much so that we decided to alter our plans and stay a 2nd night.

The location is not "downtown" Jose Ignacio, so our rental car was important in getting around, but would absolutely stay here again.

The friendliest staff!
Pros:

We stayed here for just 1 night on our way along the Uruguayan coast. The hotel's main building where breakfast is served is really pretty with lots of windows. The rooms are basic but had everything we needed. About a 3 minute walk down the road brings you to the beach but the sand dunes are so wide that it's another 5 minutes to get to the water.
By far the best part of our stay was the staff. From arrival to departure, they were always there to help with a smile. They turned our vague thoughts on a meal into the perfect restaurant recommendation. When we said we wanted to go to the beach early they left all the beach supplies we would need outside our room the night before.

A beautiful place with very nice staff!
Pros:

We stayed here for three nights in January 2019 and enjoyed it very much. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the facilities were the perfect combination of modern and rustic. They offered a delicious breakfast each morning and often had ambient music playing in the main area of the posada during the day. It was located a bit farther from the main part of Jose Ignacio than we expected, but we had a rental car and it was only a 5-minute drive. (If I had read the hotel's description more carefully, I probably would have known this.) The only thing that made us a little uncomfortable was what appeared to be a Bible verse on the receipt when we checked out. As a same-sex couple visiting from the United States, this made us wonder if the hotel's management or owner would be accepting of our relationship, but we felt very welcome during our visit so it wasn't a problem for us. I generally think that religion and politics should be kept separate from business, but that's just my personal opinion. Other than that, it was a very pleasant stay and we would recommend it to others!

Exceeded our expectations
Pros:

We booked the posada for our family of 4, 2 days before arriving, and 24 hs before getting there there was a problem with our reservation and they had to cancel....they did EVERYTHING in their hands to solve the situation, and managed to give us the house next door, that had 2 bedrooms and was impecable, to make up for the inconvenience. They exceeded our expectations because we had the excellent service, the lovely breakfast and the use of the swimming pool, while staying next door. Would love to come back!

Excellent choice in all respects...
Pros:

The location is terrific. A 2 minute walk to outstanding white sand beach. A 5 minute drive to Jose Ignacio square. Marianna, a family owner/architect and Maurismo, were gracious, helpful, english fluent, and delightful. The room was nicely appointed. The breakfast outstanding. The family, consisting of architects, built this hotel, which is an architectural gem, in a community full of outstanding modern architecture.

cosy place with great attencion
Pros:

This is a corner of paradise! Very quiet and simple place in the middle of the nature.
as usual my ups and downs:
ups:
1. Customer service and attention: The owners Fernando and Ester are always around. nice people to have a chat with and very generous with their suggestions. excellent attention.
2. Location: far away from the busy village, this is an oasis. it is quiet and silence. if you don't want to drive to de village (5 mins) you can walk up the road for two of the most famous restaurants of the area.
3. You can walk to the beach passing through the dunes. The beach is wonderful, wide and quiet. ideal for long walks or yoga practise. you can also stay in and enjoy the pool.
Downs:
1. it is really hard to find downsides. definitely you need to hire a car to make the most of this holidays. but this is everywhere in jose ignacio.
2. you don't want to leave!!!
3. ...cannot find a third point!!!

Absolute Paradise
Pros:

My boyfriend and I were fortunate to make a last minute trip to Jose Ignacio and stay here. I can’t rave enough about it.

Room
I worried that being in a garden-y hotel by the beach, I’d have to worry about bugs. Not at all. Never once had anything unsavory in the room which they kept immaculately clean. Daily fresh towels, housekeeping. It was done to perfection. Room was comfortable with a fridge and back garden. Solid WiFi.

Grounds
Absolutely stunning. Gorgeous pool and lots of comfortable areas for lounging. My boyfriend and I spent plenty of time just hanging out at the hotel and could not have been more comfortable. Comfortable furniture with a great view.

Staff
This is where this beautiful place shined even more. Staff went out of their way to make sure we were comfortable. The young man with the beard was particularly amazing. He’d come to greet us when we came back and help us with bags. He made up a tray with plates and glasses and carried it to our room when we wanted to have some snacks. He seriously went above and beyond. I wish I knew his name, but thank you so so much. I’ve stayed in 5* hotels and this service was up there, even better by being so personal.

Jose Ignacio is a beautiful, wonderful place and if I have the pleasure of coming back, there’s no where else I’d rather stay.

Wonderful place to stay beyond the madness of Punta Arenas
Pros:

Poseda Arenas is a haven in the quiet beachside resort of Jose Ignacio - close enough to Punta Del Este for those who seek to be at the centre of things but a bit classier for our tastes. The hotel is charming and comfortable offering basic accommodation in a stylish, small and modern building with comfortable facilities including a small pool close to the beach. The beach is a bit wild with no cafes or facilities but great surf for those who have a board or wish to kite-surf. Fantastic restaurants within a few minutes' drive bit most carry the Punta Del Este problem price tag. Highlight for us was a visit to Bodega Garzon with some of Uruguay's best wines.

What makes Posada Arenas special is the staff - so friendly, accommodating and helpful; exceptionally nice people who go to great lengths to ensure that guests are comfortable and happy and give great tips on local events and facilities.

Only (very slight - for us) negative is that the accommodation might need some renovation; looks slightly dated. Bit this would not prevent us returning as we enjoyed our stay tremendously.
