Puro relax
Pros:

La posizione è ideale! A due passi dal mare dove troverete i lettini a vostra disposizione e dove potrete rilassarvi all’ ombra degli alberi riempiendovi gli occhi di azzurro! La struttura è curata e le stanze sia quelle col giardino che quelle con la piscina garantiscono la privacy. Camere spaziose e pulitissime. Bagno ampio e doccia con acqua dolce! Cosa rara sull’isola! Ambiente molto rilassante. I ragazzi della reception gentilissimi e sempre pronti ad aiutarvi per rendere il vostro soggiorno ancora più speciale! Colazione ottima! Pancakes squisiti! Anche il ristorante funziona bene, ma se vorrete provare anche altri locali, ne troverete diversi nelle vicinanze! Concludendo… Noi ci siamo trovati benissimo e ci è piaciuta tanto la cura di tanti piccoli dettagli e l’armonia con lo spirito dell’isola. Super consigliato!!!

Eine moderne Anlage mit unfassbar netten Mitarbeitern.
Pros:

Das Personal, vor allem Ali, war sehr freundlich und immer erreichbar. Auch das Frühstück war sehr lecker und frisch.
Die Zimmer waren mit Klimaanlage, einem Außen-Wasserhahn zum Füße waschen und großem Badezimmer ausgestattet. Wir haben uns hier sehr wohl gefühlt.
Auch die Lage ist perfekt, es liegt direkt am Strand, nicht mal eine Minute Fußweg und auch mehrere Restaurants sind direkt in der Nähe.
Was außerdem toll war, waren private Sonnenliegen am Strand nur für die Hotelgäste.

Clean comfortable but not worth the money
Pros:

Staff were great and very welcoming. There was a problem with the extra bed but there was great communication before we arrived and they were able to offer a good solution. The room was comfortable and the outside space and pool was a good size

Cons:

Unfortunately the location was not on the beach as suggested on booking.com. The hotel had allocated sunbeds on the beach but they had been taken by others who were not staying at the hotel. Also breakfast is very basic which would be ok if that was reflected in the room rate.

We stayed in Villa Samalas Villas Resort on Gili Meno in the middle of May 2026 for 7 nights
Pros:

The resort has only 4 Villas, but the Manager Mr. Nicola plans to extend the resort( pool, and few more Villas). The Villas are totally private, what we liked very much. There is a garden in front of the terrace and a private entrance door. The whole resort area is full of plants and coconut trees and looks very nice. Villa Samalas is one of only a few resorts on Gili Meno, which have sweet water in the bathrooms shower !! The beach is very close and there are sunbeds for the guests of Villa Samalas. Mr. Nicola and his team take care of their guests very good! There is no problem, they couldn`t solve it. We enjoy the time here very much!!

Wished we could have stayed longer!
Pros:

Amazing atmosphere, awesome staff, delicious food! Exceptionally clean with the bonus of a freshwater shower after a day on the beach. Great location as well on the northern end of the island.

We’d stay here again in a heartbeat!

Gili Meno Stay
Pros:

Great location, close to the beach, with wonderful walks along laneways to the most interesting interior....warungs, shops, farms, animals....so good! Fabulous diving nearby. Great staff. Good clean restaurant, and great warungs nearby. Fabulous island, and with horse carts and electric bikes only. Can be an exhilarating speedboat ride to get there.

Cons:

Too much coral on the beach, and good for swimming at high tide. You need shoes.

Pros:

Toto ubytování jsme navštívili již podruhé. Pokoje jsou velké, postel pohodlná, koupelna se sprchou a toaletou evropského typu. Je to takový skrytý kousek ráje, blízko pláže, s vlastními lehátky. Restaurace je italského typu, ale vaří zde i domácí kuchyň, a vaří moc dobře. Obsluha a personál jsou úžasní lidé, milí, pracovití, splní každé přání. Vřele doporučuji. Určitě se vrátíme.

Ohne zu überschwänglich zu klingen, aber die Unterkunft ist ein absoluter Traum! Nicht nur die Villa selbst ist top ausgestattet, auch das Personal ist sehr freundlich.

Wir wurden direkt herzlich empfangen und fühlten uns in dieser Unterkunft direkt wie zu Hause - kein Spaß! Wir haben die Tür zur Villa aufgemacht und haben direkt gewusst, dass wir hier einen wunderschönen Aufenthalt haben werden. Die Bilder auf Booking sind älter und nicht mehr ganz aktuell, daher war die Überraschung groß als wir die sehr gepflegte Anlage gesehen haben.
Besonders lieben Dank an Sam, Ali, Miss und natürlich den Rest des Personals sowie auch an den Besitzer selbst, der ebenfalls vor Ort war. Sie haben uns immer mit einem Lächeln im Gesicht geholfen und unseren Aufenthalt damit unvergesslich gemacht.

Kurz zur Villa:
Man hat einen Zaun rund um einen kleinen Vorgarten für maximale Privatsphäre, eine kleine Terrasse und ein großzügiges Schlafzimmer und sehr schönes Bad. Und für uns der größte Pluspunkt: Süßwasser. Auf der Insel gibt es aktuell keine Süßwasserleitung, daher werden die meisten Unterkünfte mit Salzwasser betrieben. Das ist auf Dauer einfach nicht so super.

Die Lage der Villa ist circa 15 Minuten zu Fuß vom Hafen entfernt. Man kann aber auch problemlos per Beach Landing mit einem kleinen Boot anreisen oder die Nachbarinseln besuchen. Wer rund um die Gili-Inseln Schildkröten sehen möchte, ist meiner Meinung nach hier am besten aufgehoben. In einer Minute seid ihr am schönen Strand, könnt mit dem Schnorchel direkt ins Wasser und habt eine 100% Garantie, Schildkröten zu sehen. Man muss nur ein wenig auf die Gezeiten achten und eher bei höherem Wasser starten, damit man keine Korallen beschädigt.

Zum Abschluss bleibt nur noch, dass auch das Restaurant keine Wünsche offen lässt. Der Kaffee ist super, das Frühstück lecker und abends kann man es sich hier auch richtig gutgehen lassen.

Simpler would be better
Pros:

The team was so friendly and sweet. The room was clean, the ac worked well and there was a fridge. To avoid plastic, we asked them to refill our water bottles.

Cons:

Sadly, the bed was not very comfortable and had an uneven surface. The duvet cover was the wrong size so we had to deal with velcro on one side. There were many design decisions that baffled me: the bathroom is huge but the shower is a narrow rectangle with two openings which shoot water onto the bathroom floor, and you keep touching the walls of the shower which is unpleasant.

Breakfast was odd. The coffee and fruit were fresh and good, but the pancakes tasted too much like vanilla cake. I'd suggest simply making local style pancakes, which are delicious.

Two of the walls are floor to ceiling glass which sounds nice but isn't practical. The bathroom blinds need to be down the whole day or else people see right in. The bedroom has a glass sliding door that is heavy to open and close and tricky to lock. Again, the simple solution of narrow doors would have worked better.
The room is surrounded by a cane fence to give it a private feeling but I felt a bit couped in. I think the plan is to build individual plunge pools, but I can just see that complicating an already tricky operation.

In general, I wish tourists would be better educated about the reality of the islands. Gili Meno has no source of sweet water so they get water in by boat.

The main photo should be swapped because the place is a 5 minute walk to the beach and not on the beach as the photo of the lounge chairs suggests.

Es war super schön

Wir haben uns sehr wohl in der Unterkunft gefühlt und der Strand war sehr schön

Pros:

Villa Samalas is amazing!!! We absolutely enjoyed our stay, the morning breakfast is perfect with fruits, juice, coffee and a selection of dishes like omelette, a great kickstart to the day! The room is comfortable and very clean, and with beautiful little details everywhere. The gardens of the complex are beautiful and calm.
The location is ideal, just a few meters secluded from the beach so you don't get the tourists crossing by your window. We have been quite a few times to Gili Meno and wouldn't stay anywhere else on the island. Thank you for receiving us so nicely always:)
