I will NEVER spend money to stay at a Hampton Inn or Hilton Hotel ever again. They're lucky they got any stars at all.
My family stayed at the Hampton Inn Norfolk/Virginia Beach from July 20, 2026 - July 26, 2026 with the Rapid Fire Softball team.
On the early morning of July 24, 2026 our rental vehicle was broken into while in the parking lot of the Hampton Inn Norfolk/Virginia Beach. My purse along with my wallet and credit cards etc were stolen-of approximately $1000.00 in value, if not more. It appears many other vehicles were also broken into in the hotel parking lot. There are no cameras in the parking lot. However, there is a camera in the outside pool area (where we parked) which we were told is NOT a working camera. The police were called by us and called by another guest about an hour later.
This is all very concerning as we and a number of other families are staying in this hotel for softball tournament-which means many young girls walking around the hotel and hotel property. We expect to be safe when we travel to this hotel.
The fact that there aren't any cameras outside the hotel and a non working camera in the pool area is concerning and scary. This is a HUGE liability.
Also many people, including young girls, were walking around the hotel and witnessed a homeless man in one of the stairwells! If anything had happened to any of these children this hotel would be held responsible.
We are holding Hampton Inn Norfolk/Virginia Beach fully liable due to the fact the cameras were not available or working and the night associate did not report the original incident when alerted by a guest at approximately 4:00 am est. We expect to feel safe and would like compensation for the theft of my personal belongings on your hotels property as well as any other expenses related to replacing the rental vehicle and insurance costs to cover the damage of the rental vehicle.
The fact that the hotel manager was not empathetic and took zero responsibility is upsetting. We expect to feel safe. Allowing homeless people to roam the hotel property is terrifying.
After reading some previous reviews and digging into older reviews online, it looks as though this has happened before.
This is negligence by the Hampton Inn and its employees. How do you have non working cameras in a sketchy area. I honestly think these break-ins etc was an inside job. The manager failed to protect the guests. On fact she made it the guests responsibility to call police etc. My car was broken into about 10 to 15 feet from the front desk window. How do you not hear a window getting smashed.
I want a corporate number. Not a number to the hotel
Well maintenance and clean areas.
Fridge not working .
First off, April at the front desk is a great employee and did a phenomenal job while I was there (1 night)….she is a dedicated worker for this hotel brand and one of the only bright spots going for this location…..on the other hand, Hilton needs to seriously invest some time and money into addressing the less-than satisfactory status of this property…..either that or close it and rebuild at another location.
We had to make a trip to Virginia from Florida and stayed at four different Hampton Inns while on the road. This must be one of the older, renovated Hampton Inns. While the decor was modern, the room felt very crowded. There was no counter space in the bathroom which is frustrating for 2 travelers.
While we didn't find the place outstanding, what did impress us were the 2 gals who were in charge of the free breakfast. Chrystal was very welcoming and has a great sense of humor. April who assisted her and ran the nightshift front desk was also delightful. She eagerly goes the extra mile to help where needed. Kudos to the two for GREAT customer service.
I stayed on the main floor. It was very noisy. Dogs were barking and whining all day and most of the night.
I notified the front desk and they spoke to the people . The barking stopped for a while. I believe one of the darks kept barking because the owner left the room. Other than that, everything was good. Nice staff and location
This was out third time we stayed at this Hampton. It was renovated about two years ago.
I chose a room on the third floor. I was quite unhappy with a variety of things during our overnight stay.
The room smelled quite musty. I ended up buying some air freshener to try to improve the smell. It was only temporary.
I deal with allergies and was affected by the room’s air quality.
The room’s air conditioning unit was quite noisy.
I got very little sleep.
One of the two elevators was not working.
I have been a long time Hampton Inn customer. Unfortunately, I see this chain beginning to lower the level of quality that it once did.
Nissir Younes manager is a scammer and liar. She gave my parents room away and gave us the wrong room. They oversold the hotel and bumped whoever didn’t pay the most. This is a cockroach hotel on the sketchy side of town. Stay at a sleazy trucker hotel instead. You’ll be happier.
Friendly staff, breakfast
The hotel is dirty, the general manager NISRIN YOUNES has a scammer and nasty attitude, and the place feels off; there were roaches in the room I stayed in by the bed. The only good thing about the hotel is the location. I’m not staying at any Hilton hotels as long as I live and won’t be recommending my family and friends to do so either. Hyatt, IHG, and Marriott all have better reward systems than Hilton anyway.
However, if you must stay any Hilton/Hampton Inn in the area, go to the Hampton Inn on Greenbrier Circle in Chesapeake, Virginia. The general manager is amazing, staff is awesome, clean rooms, and they will accommodate you fully!
Convenient, clean
No maid service on our second to last day, so no clean towels or emptied trash
