Las habitaciones son pequeñas pero asi es la vida en NY

Mobiliário velho, cobraram para colocar frigobar, sem café da manhã mesmo sendo contratado. Atendente grosseiro com turista e o banheiro tinha uma porta menor que o espaço, zero privacidade.

Leider war die Sauberkeit des Zimmers enttäuschend. Als wir das Zimmer zum ersten Mal betreten haben, war es nicht ordentlich gereinigt. Besonders im Badezimmer waren sehr viele Haare und generell war das Zimmer nicht sauber.

Wir haben dies bereits am nächsten Tag an der Rezeption angesprochen. Uns wurde gesagt, dass es ihnen leidtut und dass sich darum gekümmert wird. Leider hat sich auch in den darauffolgenden Tagen nichts geändert. Obwohl wir uns mehrfach erneut über die Sauberkeit beschwert haben, war das Zimmer weiterhin dreckig und es wurde offenbar keine ausreichende Reinigung vorgenommen.

Sehr enttäuschend war für uns vor allem, dass sich trotz unserer mehrfachen Beschwerden nichts an der Situation geändert hat.

Nas fotos parece que o hotel é bem mais novo.

No se podían abrir las ventanas y no había buen olor si no tenías continuamente puesto el aire acondicionado. No hay mini-nevera. El mantenimiento es algo deficiente en los detalles.

COCKROACHES INFESTATION!!!

I found a cockroach in my room at the Shoreham Hotel, with photo and video evidence. To make things even better, it actually crawled inside my luggage.

A cleaner admitted it happens sometimes.

The hotel offered to move me to another room or let me check out and refund the unused nights. Moving rooms wasn’t really going to solve it. Once you’ve watched a cockroach crawl around your room and into your belongings, you don’t exactly settle comfortably into the room next door wondering when his cousins are going to show up.

So I checked out.

This cost me virtually an entire day of my trip. Checkout was at 10AM couldn’t check into my replacement hotel until 4pm, and I was supposed to be working that day.

What really amazed me was the hotel repeatedly describing the refund for the nights I didn’t stay as my “compensation.” Refunding accommodation that you are no longer providing is not compensation. It is quite literally the bare minimum BY LAW in this situation and they were clearly well aware of that.

Even then, around $100 was withheld as supposedly being “taxes,” with no proper breakdown explaining what exactly I was being charged for. My deposit also wasn’t returned.

The manager acknowledged that actual compensation would be fair, but told me it had to be handled through Booking.com. Since then, Booking.com has repeatedly tried contacting the hotel and, conveniently, the hotel simply doesn’t respond.

So: cockroach in the room, cockroach in my luggage, a day of my trip and work lost, unexplained money withheld, deposit missing, and then silence afterwards.

Absolutely revolting experience, made significantly worse by how it was handled. I would never stay here again.

The location was the only good thing about this hotel. The building is old, shabby, and badly in need of renovation, yet the rates are comparable to those of much better hotels.

The free Wi-Fi barely worked, leaving you feeling pressured to pay for an upgrade. Unfortunately, the paid Wi-Fi did not work either. I asked the staff for help several times, and although they promised to resolve the issue, nothing was done.

The breakfast, which costs extra, was particularly disappointing: a banana, a cup of cold tea, and a small packet of crackers. This is not what I would expect from a paid hotel breakfast.

Overall, this hotel offers poor value for money. Between the unreliable internet, the lack of follow-through from staff, and the worn-out facilities, it was a frustrating stay. I would not stay here again.
