this place is Hell on earth - It needs to be shut down!
Pros:

This place was the worst place I have ever stayed. There were two raids while I stayed there of people who clearly live here. A huge group of men always outside, when I walked out they were very intimidating. Saw men dealing drugs both inside and outside the place on multiple occasions. This isn't a hotel at all its a very scary place. Weed smoke was smelt in the room at all house of the night.

Not sure who this place is staying open... The people who live on this road must live in fear!!!!! That's how bad I think this place is!!

Terrible
Pros:

Awful place felt unsafe . It stank and is run down. Rooms are tired. Facilities are basic. Didn't enjoy at all. Would tell people looking to stay at Bournemouth to stay clear if this terrible place. Far better hotels in the area. Bournemouth would be a better place without this hotel

Rubbish dump
Pros:

Shocking Hotel looks and feels like downtown Bagdad, after passing through the herds of rough sleepers and filthy reception it dawned on us an immediate escape was needed, hotel has obviously being used to house the homeless, should no longer be listed and avoided at all costs it’s in a terrible state of disrepair…

Crap customer service before I even made a booking! Thanks
Pros:

Just tried ringing this hotel to book the rooftop suite, three phone calls charged at 13p a minute, each call just rang out for nearly 5 minutes before being cut off.
A real shame as I used to stay at this place regularly, but if they can’t even be bothered to answer the phone and rip people off whilst doing so, then the decision to book a room there is simple.
Not bloody likely!
Sort yourselves out an absolute shambles!

Tinsel & Turkey
Pros:

Visited 29 Nov 2021 for a 5 day Tinsel and Turkey break. There was no heating in my room (I was given a stand alone heater), paint marks on the floor and a dirty carpet. There was cannabis being smoked on the 4th floor which apparently the Staff knew about and we were told a sock would be put over the smoke alarm so nothing went off. In the evening 2 "gentlemen" came into the premises for the evening show. We thought one was drunk as he fell off the chair more than once and tried to open the large glass doors. They were allowed in again after the Bar Staff being asked to get them to leave. Again, nothing was done. Also, a "lady" arrived for breakfast in dressing gown and slippers!!!!

The so called Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and New Years Eve were exactly the same in the Restaurant except fore the face there was turkey and Christmas Pudding. No accompliments i.e. pigs in blankets, stuffing etc. We also had a frozen gateau one evening.

This is not a Hotel I would recommend. I have tried to contact the owners with them saying it isn't one of theirs. It's on their website!!

The was defun

Lovely stay
Pros:

We stayed at the Roundhouse with friends on a National Holiday Twixmas break. We did not find out where we would be staying until a couple of weeks before departure.
Having read the reviews on here, we were really dreading our stay and hoping that it would be cancelled due to COVID restrictions.
As it turned out, the hotel was lovely. Our room was spotlessly clean and had a big, comfortable bed.
The food was excellent too and the staff worked really hard to ensure everyone had a pleasant experience.
I would definitely return to the Roundhouse and thank the staff for all of their hard work.

National Holidays Trip From The North
Pros:

Stayed here with National from the 27th December to 30th December 2021. In my opinion this is one of the better Britannia hotels. It was clean and comfortable. Food was a buffet style, help yourself. I usually struggle to sleep when I'm away but I slept quite well, There is noise from the main road but if the window is closed it wasn't overly noticeable from the 4th floor. Only one lift was working during our stay. I can't comment on the entertainment as we went out, but the group we were with said it was decent enough. Overall it was a comfortable stay and that's all you can really ask for.

Cheap and not so cheerful
Pros:

Rooms are beyond basic, decor is shabby 1970s without the chic, the taps wouldn't turn off in the bathroom and the shower pressure was pathetic. Parking is an extra £10 overnight on the weekend. Breakfast was pretty average for a hotel buffet, but I was astonished to be asked if I wanted anything from the bar, like a beer or spirits. It was 9:30AM!

Comfortable room and excellent breakfast
Pros:

Generally had a good stay - the room was comfortable and the breakfast was particularly good. The only complaint was that the walls were quite thin and we were kept awake at night by some people chatting loudly next door. For that reason we might hesitate to stay there again.

Good stay
Pros:

Hotel was in a great location. Staff friendly. Room a bit dated but was clean and comfortable. Only one lift working at the time which was frustrating. Some areas of corridors lights were out. Dining room was nicely set out, breakfast buffett varied choice. Good value for money.

Great staff and location but hotel is very dated
Pros:

All staff on reception, bar and security were good and welcoming. The hotel is very dated but clean. The corridors are very noisy so did not sleep that well. Good location though and perfect for 1 night away.

One Night stay for night out.
Pros:

Ok overall stay for the one night, as a place to lay your head it was what you need. Rooms were a little old fashioned, and had a strange smell. Nothing bad, just old smelling. It would be a good place to stay for hitting the town, or for the football.

Pros:

Such a bad hotel with poor service! AVOID AVOID AVOID! If you do book (don’t) don’t expect to get a room anything like on the pictures. Made a complaint and emailed 4 times…can’t even be bothered to reply ! Expedia should be ashamed promoting this hovel on their site.

Don't stay here if you like your sleep and are hoping for a peaceful and relaxing time!!!
Pros:

A few family members go away every year for a catch up and Christmas shopping. We chose the Roundhouse this year as a cousin had stayed here last year and said it was good in a great location.
Positives first - yes it's a great location, short walk to the seafront easily managed by elderly mum and aunt and close to pubs, restaurants etc. Rooms were clean enough.
Negatives now rooms were roasting hot, with one room having no adjustable radiator and one a tiny window that opened for air - there was a fan already left in this room. Bathrooms were even hotter and again with no control, they were unbearable.
No sleep and anti-social behaviour, we spent two nights here Fri & Sat and had little sleep either night. You expect some noise in hotels but this was on a different level. People talking loudly, TV's blaring, swearing (the language was atrocious with children staying in the hotel)and fighting until 4/5 am both nights. My mum and aunt's (both nearly 80) room had an interconnecting door (only locked by a simple not very strong pull across lock - no key lock) which was tried from the other side early Sat morning. The following night this was tried again around 4am and then the room door was tried with a key card. Mum crept to look through the spyhole to see a man trying to gain access to their room. They were really scared, couldn't ring reception as no phones in the rooms and the number on the booking details was just an automated number, they couldn't get through to talk to someone. They didn't want to wake the rest of us as we had to drive the next day on a long journey. They summoned the courage to go down to reception, passing people laying on the floor in the hallways. The deputy manager had no empathy just telling them it was drunk people and they would go to sleep soon. The next morning we all complained and the reception staff were surly and clearly not interested. We were told this was regular occurrence for Fri & Sat nights, the night porters couldn't cope and were scared to approach people for the fear of being stabbed and there was no point in phoning the police as it usually took them 6 hors to arrive. The hotel is currently housing Asylum Seekers, I can't say if it was them causing the disturbance but did suggest they maybe kept the other paying guests on a different floor but were told they couldn't do that as there are too many of them.
