The beds were extremely comfortable and made for a great night’s sleep. I also want to give special praise to the cleaning lady who was working on rooms 348 and along that corridor. She was incredibly polite, kind, and welcoming. Unfortunately, I didn’t catch her name, but she truly stood out and is an absolute asset to the hotel. Her professionalism and warmth made a wonderful impression during my stay.
On arrival, we waited over 20 minutes to check in, with no one at the reception desk. The bar staff member had to leave the bar unattended to try to assist us, involving a lot of unnecessary running around and another member of staff, before a gentleman finally came to reception.
Unfortunately, the check-in experience was very poor. There was no welcome, no explanation of meal times, menus, or hotel facilities, and no guidance on how to find our room. We were simply handed a card and told, “That’s your room.” We were not shown where the lift was and were left to work it out ourselves, only being told to “swing round to the left.”
The following morning, we were asked whether we had checked in. When we responded and pointed to the gentleman who had dealt with us, he stated that he did not recognise us and had not checked us in. After a short conversation, he then said, “Yes, I am sorry, I forgot.” This was both frustrating and unprofessional.
When we entered our king-size room, there was a letter on the desk stating that there had been no heating in the room since 4 February. This had not been mentioned to us at any point before or during check-in. For a hotel of your size, we were provided with only a very small portable radiator, which did not warm the room at all. With the heavy wind and rain that night, the room was freezing, and the lack of heating made the stay extremely uncomfortable. If I am honest, I simply wanted to go home.
Your front-of-house staff seriously need training on how to make guests feel welcome and informed when entering the hotel. The overall experience was appalling, and as a result, I would not stay at your hotel again.
Generally ok. Nothing "good" but also nothing hugely negative.
No Nutella for breakfast- daughter.
Heating via air conditioning.warm=noise.
Lighting- seemed to be no main light in room.
Great location just outside Bristol, onsite restaurant and bar. Lot of parking
Confusing parking charges - pay in hotel for cheapest rate. May be less ideal if you’re travelling around rush hour.
The staff was friendly and the room was clean and comfortable
Nothing
The location was good and the hotel was clean had all the facilities that we liked. Vegan and vegetarian breakfast was good as well. The staff were very welcoming.
We had to pay for the parking
Room was quiet, bed comfy,
Hot breakfast was a bit tasteless.
Very well presented
Outlook, Breakfast, and evening meal.
Bedding was slightly less than perfect.
Comfortable room. Really clean and good facilities
Food was average at best. Breakfast was poor considering the cost. The bacon l had was grey on the medallion and smelt off.
Peaceful and quiet location with easy access to Bristol and good parking at hotel. The staff were very attentive and pleasant. It met all our requirement for a short break.
The food was very good but, as we were staying for 4 nights, the set menu for DBB was a bit restrictive. Pool area was basic with no facility to relax but the pool and area were comfortably warm.
Clean and in great condition
Steam room not hot enough
