The Meliá Costa del Sol Hotel will begin renovations on some rooms from 17 November 2025 until 30 May 2026.

Staff were not very friendly bar one or two people in the bar & restaurant.
Requested double bed, got 2 single beds pushed together.
Water in room was not free & i was scolded for filling my water bottle in the restaurant.
No toiletries in the bathroom, you could request them but not sure if they were free, bought my own in the local shop.
There are a lot of other hotels on the strip that are not so expensive and would appreciate your business.

UN NIÑO QUE ME TOCO AL LADO DE LA HABITACION
This hotel has a fabulous location and we have been many times, one of our favourites. There have unfortunately been some changes, especially at the Level. The excellent team, are no longer there, and it is very noticeable. Desk often not manned, drinks, ice and glasses allowed to run out, and not replaced. Maria, however is excellent. The new pool 'boys' again, not anything like as helpful, stand and watch as people struggle with the very heavy parasols. That said, hopefully this is a teething problem, and things will improve, but did make for a disappointing stay, as we had such an excellent time last October, and last June, so noticed the reduction. Cost cutting I guess. Everything else was perfect, and still love the Level. Maybe we were spoilt before

Piscina muy pequeña . Clientes muy viejos y variopintos . Pensado para extranjeros que pagan lo que sea . Te piden abrir cuenta de tarjeta para una toalla de la piscina , increíble . No merece la pena pagar 462 euros por una noche . No dejan ni ammenities en la habitación . A penas agua y una Coca Cola.
Nous avons beaucoup apprécié l'hôtel par lui-même, très spacieux, la vue de la chambre, le petit déjeuner et les divers services mis à notre disposition. Et la plage à 2 pas, le top !!
Nous avons beaucoup apprécié la piscine. Dommage que certains vacanciers (égoîstes) se permettaient de poser leur serviette sur les transats et de disparaître pendant des heures ! D'après le règlement au bout de 45mn d'absence, les serviettes auraient dû être retirées par le personnel. Cela n'a pas été le cas. Dommage...

We had a fantastic stay and couldn't be happier with the service we received. The hotel was beautiful, spotlessly clean, and the facilities were excellent. Every member of staff was friendly and welcoming, making us feel at home from the moment we arrived.
A special thank you to Marta from The Level, Her professionalism, warmth, and genuine care for guests were exceptional. Nothing was too much trouble, making all our check out arrangements prior to checkout. Thanks to Marta's outstanding service, our experience felt extra special.
We would highly recommend this hotel and will definitely be returning.

The recently refurbished rooms (we stayed in Deluxe) are modern and comfortable. New bathroom layouts are fine but could have done with towel rail in shower, wardrobes are spacious but safe restricts depth for longer garments, there are two deep drawers and the sliding doors have been replaced by a curtain. Rooms are cleaned daily and if you want towels replaced leave on shower floor, hotel throughout is very clean.
We always stay B&B as there is a vast selection of restaurants to chose from in resort, the hotel breakfast has a wide variety of fruit, cereals and cooked dishes including fresh omelettes.
If you stay on the rooftop terrace there is a food and drink service, we ate lunch couple of times and the portions are very generous, enough for two people to share.
Only drawback we noticed was the lack of sunbeds on the rooftop compared to previous years, opens at 10am and by 10.30 all sunbeds are taken, and some are in need of repair/replacement.
overall great hotel, great location and really enjoyed our stay.
De kamer was heerlijk. Goede bedden en kussens. Goede airco en plafondventilator. Verduisterende gordijnen. Spullen van Rituals zijn ook heerlijk, zoals shampoo. Rustig en comfortabel. Prima zwembad. En goede uitvalsbasis naar Carihuela en Torremolinos.
Ontbijt vonden we eigenlijk toch een beetje karig. Op zich wel goed, maar simpel, en de koffie is niet erg goed. Toch zouden we het wel opnieuw boeken.
We stayed here for one week, in June. We had a premium room with sea view, 5th floor, level building, room 2526. We stayed on a half board basis.
When we arrived, room wasn’t ready and had to wait till gone 3 to get our room. Room was clean, but had single beds, even though we booked has Mr and Mrs with the same name, apparently doesn’t mean you want to share the same bed. They did quickly sort this problem with a bed topper, and it was perfect after that.
Perfect location and right next to the beach and shops. Staff polite and helpful. Pool area, ok, but you do need to get there by 9, to get a lounger.
Food was terrible, always lukewarm and limited choice. We eat lunch here, then eat out every night. Food outside was lovely and lots of different varieties to choose from.
The room we had, offered turn down service, well according to Jet2 website and booking, but we never got this service for the whole 7 nights we were there.

The Melia Costa del Sol is a beautiful hotel. The recent refurbishment has been a great success.
My wife and I upgraded and stayed in The Level (Room 2921). The room was well laid out and had all the usual amenities. The Level Lounge are on the 10th floor was smart and comfortable.
However I can't see us returning because the whole (not inexpensive) Level experience was spoiled by the hotel continuing to allow smoking around the pool and sundeck (and we soon found out) on room balconies too.
If you Google "The best smoke-free hotels in Torremolinos", the Melia comes out as #1.
In the foyer there is a huge illuminated sign that declared that "Smoking is prohibited in this establishment". I would interpret that to mean that smoking is prohibited in ever part of the establishment, but, in reality, what they mean is it is prohibited in all areas, except where it is not prohibited.
I raised the issue with one of the girls behind the desk in the Level Lounge and got a "sorry about that but there's nothing we can do" response.
I raised the matter in a long letter to the hotel management and got a fairly speedy, but equally dismissive, response. Senor Perez committed to nothing more than discussing it with colleagues, and stated that they were operating within national and regional legislation.
My suggestion of a designated, but segregated, smoking area well away from the pool and the sundeck wasn't even commented on.
Beautiful hotel, pleasant staff and if you can justify the additional cost upgrade to The Level but only if you don't mind breathing in other people's smoke as soon as you leave the Level lounge and venture on to the sundeck and pool area.
We came to Level at the top of the Meliá Costa del Sol and honestly couldn’t fault it. From the moment we arrived, everything was exceptional.
What we loved most is that you don’t have to be a hotel guest to enjoy it visitors are welcome too, which makes it a hidden gem if you’re in Torremolinos and looking for somewhere special to spend the day or evening.
The service was outstanding. Every waiter was attentive, friendly and professional, making us feel genuinely welcome throughout our visit. The team were an absolute 10/10 and nothing was too much trouble.
The atmosphere, views and overall experience were incredible. Everything felt relaxed, premium and well looked after. Whether you’re staying at the hotel or just visiting, we would highly recommend coming here.

Our room was clean and spacious. The bed was very comfortable. We enjoyed our view of the pool and sea, and the breakfast buffet is always fabulous, even for vegetarians. The location is close to our favorite walks and restaurants. The staff is friendly and helpful. The large outdoor pool is big enough for real swimming and for kids to play in. I think this was the sixth time we've stayed at the Melia Costa Del Sol, and we hope to return next year. We also appreciate that this is not a noisy party destination, but a great destination for mature adults and families.
The only suggestion I would make is to allow people to pick up fresh pool towels at 9:00 a.m. (the same time that the pool opens) rather than making them wait until 10 a.m.
