Disappointed 😞
Pros:

Great location, beautiful hotel

Cons:

No TV channels, paid extra for a sea view and ended up in a corner, with a smaller balcony and mostly a view of brick walls with a limited vista and natural light.
I'd stayed here a few weeks previously in less expensive room which was much better.
Pretty convinced that it wasn't a premium room.

Fantastic location on the Marina over looking the beach, peaceful at night perfect for city access & restaurants. All 5-10min walk max

Cons:

Nothing really, only thing was the hallways/corridors were dusty and not cleaned daily due to building/renovation work. We were off season so understand this work happens at that time, building work was during the day and no issue with evening noise. The corridors just could have been better maintained during the works

Perfect location
Pros:

A short four day break. This was our third stay at the Melia Alicante. 2 hour 20 minute flight from Manchester, only a short 10 minute taxi to the hotel from alicante airport (25 euros). Beautifully located on the front between the beach and marina. A 2 minute walk to the shops, bars and restaurants just across the main road. We stayed in a premium room, which was very spacious and comfortable with a beautiful sea view. We stayed on a bed and breakfast basis, which we'd recommend. Exceptionally good varied choice for breakfast with a stunning view of the beach and santa barbara castle. Go down early for breakfast as it does get busy (we were down between 7.30 and 8). There are so many fantadtic places to eat in alicante in the evening so recommend you only to go bed and breakfast. There is some building work/updating being done at the hotel. Only really noticed it when we were outside leaving or going back into the hotel, when you could hear drilling/banging. This did not affect our stay. We love this hotel and would definately recommend and come back. Although have only rated it 4 out of 5. This is due to an issue with the shower, as the bathroom was very nice. The shower screen was not wide enough and metal bar holding it in place was directly under the showerhead. You could reposition the head, if it was dirently down it would hit the bar, if it was angeled to the left would hit the wall and angeled the other way it ended up flooding the bathroom. Badly designed (room 1093). On our previous stays we had different rooms and had no issues. Apart from this we had a great stay and would stay again.
