Top holiday for birthday celebration
Pros:

Melia alicante was our choice to book a family vacation to celebrate my mother's 87th birthday. The location and service in the hotel were fantastic and special thanks go to Andrea Mayor, guest services manager and Eva, responsible at breakfast service for their endless efforts to make our holiday memorable

Cons:

More sunbeds. Staff would walk in front of you instead of standing in for guests to pass. Fridge was noisy at night. Drinks at the Blue Pool bar ran out of soft drinks 2/3 days in a row. Staff overall were not very pleasant except for the one breakfast chef who was lovely, very nice and accommodating making omelettes always had a smile.

Nice, but I wouldn’t stay again unfortunately

Enjoyed the location of the hotel, the views from the pool and the bedroom were fantastic.

Cons:

However the hotel itself was a little tired and The service wasn’t quite what I’ve experienced in previous Meliá hotels.

One of each flavour of tbags in the room, so we couldn’t both have a cup of tea.
I asked reception to remove the mini bar from the fridge. I was told there would be a €5 charge, and I could put the contents in the wardrobe and put it back when I checked out.
The pool area was not cleaned every night and the floor sticky. It was 31.c and there were 4 umbrellas for approx 48 sun beds.

Unfortunately I wouldn’t stay here again, as there were lots of beautiful hotels throughout Alicante.
