Great location , big room , helpful staff
Nothing
Location and view was good.
Gym & steam room could use and update.
Centrally located in downtown Sydney, walking distance from the train station and lots of great food places. We were so comfortable at the Sydney Blvd Hotel that we cancelled our rez at a nearby hostel and extended our stay at The Blvd for two more nights.
More charge ports in the room would have been nice. There was one wireless phone charger and a couple of USB-C ports, but that was it.
Central location great views. The staff were really friendly.
Only cleaning the room after 3 nights. The bed had no doona cover, so it had an old bed spread with texta writing on it and then had a top sheet above and below the doona, so they obviously just come and rip off the top sheets and leave the dirty doona. So that wasnt great.
Location was great and view from our room was fantastic. The room was huge!
Perfect location - walking distance to CBD and circular quay as well as Darlinghurst and Kings Cross. Large rooms. Quiet. Comfortable. Amazing views. Friendly staff - calling out Florian especially. Loved the breakfast to set up the day.
The room space was great, had a lot of space to manoeuvre bags and changing around.
Amazing location too, bus to the city is a 1-2mins walk, and the bus back from city drops us off directly in front of the hotel.
The room itself and facilities is a little old. We had to request for a change of kettle, but the front desk and housekeeping were amazing, and able to accommodate us comfortably!
Would also definitely ask for a higher floor in the future as midnight sirens did wake us a little #citylife
I last stayed here nearly 40 years ago when it was certainly popular. How times have changed. This was a last-minute booking in a harbour view room.
Pros
The upgrade to the Bayview Suite (2313) was great and the view, even on a wet Sunday afternoon/evening was stunning. Room was clean and spacious. Welcome amenities were in-room on arrival which is always welcomed.
Breakfast was good quality with lots of choices and staff friendly.
Cons
The high bath/spa combination was a challenge for someone with knee issues and I was amazed that single-use products were still being provided.
'Satellite TV' it wasn't - just free-to-air. Whilst this may be technical in that broadcasts nowdays could be via satellite I was expecting something like Foxtel, etc.
Being a Sunday there was nowhere to get anything to eat or drink (the Vard is not open on Sunday but that is not stated on the Accor website. So no luck in redeeming my free drink.
As for room service, hmmm, the choice of three mains and a tray charge of $8. When I walked out of the room for breakfast the next morning, the tray was still outside my room.
Unfortunately this hotel appears to be living on its history and memories. I can't recommend it unless you need to be close to this part of the city and don't need to eat dinner.
I liked the size of the rooms and the comfort of the bed.
The bathrooms are okay. They could have an exhaust fan in them.
