5.5
Mixed/limited: attractive historic public areas, but practical amenities are lacking for some guests (no/poor air conditioning, inadequate windows for noise, some rooms missing bathtubs).

Ok for a short budget stay
Pros:

Beautiful heritage building near the station

Cons:

Very much faded glory in communal spaces and rooms. We were initially allocated a 5th floor room with no opening window - it was extremely hot and cramped (there’s no air con at the Adelphi). We asked for a move and were given an upgrade which was much better.

Well worn beds
Pros:

Location is great. The Wave Bar has cheap drinks until 8pm.

Cons:

The bed. My God. Bed was so bad, we were both wide awake at 3.30am and decided to check out and drive home. Can't speak for every room but I'd dare say it's time to change those mattresses!

Great Staff, Spotless, Hard Bed.
Pros:

Staff were excellent and the place was spotless. Breakfast sorted me out for the day. Bathroom was modern and clean.

Cons:

The bed was too hard. I like a form mattress but I could have ironed on it. My only criticism.
