Good place to stay in central Liverpool
Pros:

Great building, great location. Has obviously been a wonderful hotel at one time, now a bit tired.

Room was comfortable, bathroom fine, nothing wrong with any of it.

Cons:

The parking situation was a bit confusing- signs in the car park urged me to give my number plate at reception, but when I went to do so the man behind the desk wearily told me the signs are out of date and I only needed to pay on exit. I don't know if the hotel owns the car park but signage should be updated to prevent staff dealing with the same query hundreds of times!

Also the bar was closed when I visited, not sure if this was just because it was mid-week.

Perfection location. Rooms need updated. Staff could be
Pros:

The hotel location was perfect. The rooms were clean but outdated. The bar staff were nice and helpful.

Cons:

The breakfast room & reception staff were rude. The lifts were not great. They kept missing our floor. Our room was for 2 people yet we only had one chair. We booked 2 rooms together and they weren't together. On the Sunday food ran out at breakfast time.

Pleasant
Pros:

Loved history and is a beautiful old building with some quirky features

Cons:

Could of been touched up here and there, and was not always clear which way you had to go it is like a maze. The staff on arrival were not very welcoming or helpful, in total there were just 2 of hotel staff that smiled one at breakfast and on as we handed in key card, breakfast was cold, and when they topped up trays they put hot cold on top of cold instead of changing whole tray!!! Big hygiene risk
