Love the place from ParanormalProof666. youtube Facebook tiktok
Pros:

Brilliant! Loved this place. Been twice already. The architecture of this place is beautiful. Also, it's very haunted. Every time we go, we investigate. If you would like to see the paranormal evidence we have caught, please find us on YouTube, Facebook, and TikTok. Search "ParanormalProof666".

Disappointing
Pros:

What a shambles. We had booked an executive suite after contacting the hotel directly to confirm that Dogs were welcome in said rooms. We were advised that they did. On arrival its turned out they didn't. The room we were given was disgusting with peeling paint and a Mish mash of tired furniture. We would have booked elsewhere if we had known. Unfortunately we couldn't as my wife was undergoing Cancer treatment the following morning. Reception were extremely unhelpful and we felt like we were a burden instead of a guest. Further more I arranged flowers to be delivered to cheer up my wife. This was signed for by reception and they lost them. All in All it's a very disappointing place. Felt like a very run down nursing home.

Great visit and would be back.
Pros:

Went for a Caledonia trip with my husband. It was a Beatles tribute night. The hotel was lovely. Very big and had plenty character. There is different bars and places to sit. All the staff were lovely and very helpful. They couldn’t do more to help us. Parts of the hotel are a little dated and need some tlc but everywhere less clean and tidy. Our room was huge and spotless. The bathroom has been updated and was brand new. The only complaint was the room was very warm. We were told it was on a timer and housekeeping showed us where the fan was. There was hairdryer, iron and ironing board in the room. Plenty of space. The food was a buffet style and was amazing. Very hot and a nice range of choice. Breakfast was lovely as well. Fresh, hot food and good service. No complaints and I would take the some negative reviews with a pinch of salt.

Another great stay
Pros:

We stayed at the Adelphi for 3 days over New year as we have done for 13 years. There are 6 of us in the group and we all love the hotel. Yes it is an old lady and it is tired but the hotel is being renovated floor by floor. All the staff were polite and helpful. The food was of a high standard at every meal time and there was plenty of choice. The New Years eve gala night was fantastic. The food was served piping hot and very swiftly. The DJ was absolutely fantastic and made sure guests had a good night. Our rooms were lovely with plenty of space and storage. The rooms were warm. We went in the Wave bar and the American bar which were both nice. We will be back again next year for New year. Thank you to all staff at the hotel who made our stay pleasurable and nothing was to much trouble.

Worst hotel I’ve ever been to
Pros:

Stayed for 3 days during new years. Not very nice people at the front desk. Took ages to check in. Mouldy room. Extremely uncomfortable beds in which you could feel the bed springs as you laid down. Dusty, found old food under the bed and element. Warm!!! room and no way to lower the temperature on the element. Bad service. Even though we stayed for several days no one cleaned the room, like emptied the dustbins or changed towels. Last but not least the breakfast was terrible and almost uneatable. Never going to stay here again.

Felt Extremely Unsafe Here
Pros:

I Felt Extremely Unsafe in this Hotel , I am a female Solo traveller, I was harassed right at their doorstep on my arrival, and then a member of their staff broke into my room at 4:30am and thankful got spooked by my dog.

I was charged 152 pounds for the night and they offered me a refund of 20pounds as a gesture of goodwill due to the inconvenience caused by their members of staff.

The room I stayed was extremely dusty, with mould on the walls, my allergies were triggered and the bed was extremely uncomfortable, you literally feel the springs on the bed while lying down. There was No phone in the room so no way to contact reception in case of emergency and when I even tried to ring the front dest from my mobile phone multiple times, there was no response . I had to leave and change hotels after feeling unsafe here .
I do not recommend this for anyone, there are better hotels within a stone throw of the and online websites should reconsider having this on their website.

Adelphi hotel Liverpool awful
Pros:

Awful experience ruined Christmas booked 24th to 27th for Dinner and Breakfast booked back September. Got there told Christmas not included ( I booked paid dinner 25th December ) no that's lunch apparently. Room dirty , mold over windows. Bars shut only one open and prices put up . Went reception said wanted to cancel for the 31st and the 1st which I also booked and 1st Jan as was so let down . Said I had to speak to Duty Manager . He pops up Joe no other name just very Rude Joe ( who I found out later had been rude to numerous guest who also complained about the terrible food and shock at Christmas Dinner separately had to be paid for even though Dinner was paid for ) he came down I Googled Christmas Dinner what it was , ( as it showed it definitely wasnted a buffet tea at 6 to 8 in evening ) he said I had to leave or he call police . I said call police and will he refund my 400 odd quid as it was ( as is Christmas day as I write this I'm so upset devastated actually ) rude man . The man who called him was so polite . I packed up had to get taxi home terrible terrible . Plus plumbing of near lifts as stinks . I've tried ringing both parts of this company which is known as the refugees King's company online . Nothing emails not working phone numbers shut . They have my money and can't get it back rude disgusting man Joe in a bad suit . Once I seen the mold and the stink should have relised the place had changed disgusting . I hope Joe has a very horrible new year as he ruined my Christmas.

Tired hotel.
Pros:

Great location. The hotel is very tired, it looks like the type of place that was classy 100 years ago but hasn't been updated since.

Check in was slow, around 20 minutes waiting, admittedly the person in front seemed to be having issues but an extra person on the desk would have helped

The room was boiling. No controls on the radiators, no thermostat and the windows appeared painted shut.

We didn't eat here.

Mixed review but poor outcome.
Pros:

Location was good. Atmosphere? Christmas decorations were pleasing to the eye.
Rooms. Too warm unable to alter temperature or open window enough for fresh air. Room basic with only one lamp working.
Value… booked as part of a trip. Which was fair value.
Hotel appeared clean. Towels and bedding spotless.
Noise level… upgrading on lower floor so sitting in foyer (as too warm in room) was uncomfortable.
Breakfast! This was awful. Staff informed the chef was off on this day and staff were preparing - the food very undercooked cold as staff appeared stressed also were quite rude and dismissive, I can understand this as there were a lot of complaints from others on the trip.
Would I stay again? Doubtful but if I do certainly will not be visiting the restaurant.

Mould!! Wouldn't stay here again if you paid me
Pros:

Easily the WORST hotel I've ever stayed in, and the first time I've actually felt unsafe in the room itself. There was mould absolutely everywhere. Check the pictures. Other issues included:

- damage to the door to the room where it looked as though someone had gone at it with a crow bar
- peeling paint and wallpaper
- MOULD EVERYWHERE — above the bathtub, around the windows.
- water damage to at least half of the ceiling, resulting in an ominous circular stain directly above the bed — whatever it was that was leaking in the floor above, I was NOT convinced that it wasn't going to collapse through the ceiling on to me in the night.

I checked out after about 2 hours of considering my options. Went to another hotel nearby. Do not stay here.

Other more minor issue, but the front of house staff were quite abrupt and rude.

No warm welcome at the Adelphi!
Pros:

If you want a warm welcome, don't go to the Adelphi in Liverpool! Terrible customer service, especially by Reception staff. No manners, no smile. I was stood in the fast track line for people who've booked on line, waited ages, then got told " You have to go to another queue cos I'm closing now" no sorry, no please. He had seen me queuing! The next man who dealt with me was very brusque, no welcoming smile. I worked in Customer service and would have been sacked for behaviour like this!

Awful
Pros:

Travelled with Caledonian Travel to see Ricky Gervais at M&S Bank Arena. Stayed at the infamous Adelphi Hotel.
Sure , it would've been grand 100 years ago, but it's truly awful now.
Checked in just before 17:00 and dinner was at the same time. Minestrone soup was tasteless and just chunks of stewed aubergine and tomatoes- no pasta. Main was sliced gammon or beef, fishcakes, roast potatoes, mashed potatoes and swede( stuck to serving spoon, so you get an idea of the consistency) and green beans. Food had a taste of thyme- very strange. Choice of cakes for dessert- again bland and unappealing.
Two small elevators which seemed to run non stop.
We were on floor 6 and were treated to intermittent karaoke from a resident until almost 4am!
Room itself was small with peeling wallpaper, one chair, small TV, tea/coffee /kettle. Bathroom basic, but clean. Only saving grace was comfortable bed.
We skipped breakfast- couldn't face it!

On entering the hotel we were welcomed by immaculately presented reception staff.
Pros:

This is a charming hotel situated in the heart of Liverpool. Rooms are immaculate with a new bathroom fitted. Nice comfy bed as well. The massive ballroom is really worth a visit, it’s kept its character and there’s a great bar downstairs that does a happy hour until 7.00pm.
2 nights for only £108. Can’t go wrong. We’ll be back soon.
