Looks like the place is having a face lift.. this was our first time and I wasn't expecting much for the price but rooms were clean and well equipped..some public areas were being painted. The reception is quiet impressive and staff were excellent. We didn't eat or drink there so can't comment on that.
It was extremely noisy at night with banging doors from other people. We stayed on main room side and it was very noisy outside and there was only half panel for the sound proofing to the window.
Beds were a little hard
Clean lovely staff
Nothing
Good value central location.
Following the heatwave, room was a little too warm with no ventilation, though there was a plug in oscillating fan.
Great value for money.
Breakfast was nice but luke warm
Bed seemed to dip in middle
Breakfest had many good options, knowing what properties (e.g. milk) was nice to see.
Staircase felt heavy to walk op on.
I loved that the room was spacious and clean same with the bathroom there was a fan in there wich was handy 👌 the place was quiete staff were very friendly and accommodating after hearing bad things about the hotel it exceeded my expectations
Cleanliness, good interior
My room was by the side road and some noice came in bcos the glass probably wasn't double type.
Hotel was beautiful, location was amazing, close to many amenities/restaurants and good connectivity.
Very noisy- firstly, given the fact that it was on the main road, you could practically hear everything.
Secondly, we could not sleep one bit due to the constant door slamming, woken up to doors being slammed by the housekeeping staff, we told them twice to shut the door slowly but to no avail. On the second night, it was the duty manager who was on the rounds and slammed the fire door shut, which was literally next to our room door. I mean, as a manager you should have the knowledge and decency to shut doors quietly (especially at 1am in the night).
Front desk staff was helpful and polite.
Location and value for money
Not much to dislike
Friendly staff, great location.
I paid about £200 for a room that should have been closer to £50. The bathroom was incredibly aged, cracks in the wall, ugly industrial soap dispensers, cheap, chipped cabinets. The room itself only had lamps, no main light. The amenities in the room were so cheap and minimal. There were signs everywhere warning you of all the ways they might charge you extra.
The rest of the hotel has seen better days, everything looks tired, the corridors are labyrinthian, the check-in process is long and far too rigorous.
If it had been £60, I would have been fine. For the amount I paid, I was FUMING. The key card that said 'Best for value' was like a slap in the face.
The location is excellent
Property is very run down and was expensive for the basic amenities they provided
No fridge or air con, room a bit dated
