The photos shown in Expedia looked nothing like the room we actually stayed in.
There was also a hidden charge the hotel charged me and when I called to ask about it, they told me to contact Expedia and when I called Expedia, they told me to call the hotel.
A classic bait and switch deal.
The Waterfront Hotel formerly managed by Hyatt located at 10 Washington St. Oakland, California has announced it will be closing indefinitely and is no longer accepting reservations for rooms or conference space, the restaurant is also closed
meh
$60 valet parking that is not secure..just on the street. Decent option if visiting Yoshi’s as walking distance. Lots of taxes, fees and with parking charge my $140 room for a night was over $400. Overpriced as rooms a bit dated, no breakfast included, no secure parking. The desk clerk annd other staff are VERY VERY nice.
Nice property on the bay and walkable to all Jack London Square
Hyatt should be embarrassed. Room was fairly shabby; torn curtains, torn patio screen door, extension cord hanging out of the wall by the bed with cords laying on the floor. Staff was friendly but completely ineffectual - took us two full days and three requests to get an extra blanket, room wasn't serviced 2 days even when we asked for it to be multiple times, valet service is completely MIA even though you're paying $40/day for it. There is no restaurant in the hotel any more (permanently closed), and there's a little grab 'n go cafe downstairs with a very limited selection - nothing like morning oatmeal or a bagel and cream cheese (you *can* get a bagel with lox for $25!).
Most of the restaurants on Jack London Square have closed and it feels pretty sketchy walking around there at night.
Overall an unpleasant stay - too bad as we've always enjoyed staying here, but it just feels like it's on a long slow death spiral.
Water view is awesome
I was very satisfied overall.
Just fine.
Love the hotel however, our fireplace was not working properly. Had to call maintenance twice and once the maintenance guy turned on, pilot went out. Ambiance was gone just like that. 😌
Booked 2 rooms and requested adjoining rooms as we were 6 gals celebrating a 60th birthday…but could not be accommodated.
Given 2 rooms next to each other but 2nd room was a walk down the hallway. Asked in we could get 2 rooms opposite each other…again no luck.
Room was missing round table and chairs
Good spot, lots of food in the area!
Excellent place. Get a bayfront view 3rd floor. And 50 yards in one direction is Jack London Square. 50 yards, on the pier, USS John Glenn and US Potomac. And very friendly staff
The rooms are very huge .Nice property . Great location to Yoshis & Scott’s Restaurant. The only thing I would suggest is more signage in the hallways directing to the elevator. I followed the “Exit” signs only to find them leadonh
I thought parking was included but instead I had to pay extra. Nice hotel, nice staff and the location is great.
We've stayed here many times and always enjoy our stay. Beautiful location on the water and several great restaurants nearby.
Comfortable rooms in a good location. Property is a bit aged. Ferry to downtown SFO was right out the back door with many nearby dining options on Jack London Square. My room was massive with two beds, could have easily been a suite. Unfortunately the hotel staff seemed to be generally unaware of the published benefits provided by the daily $25 destination fee, so I had to ask to have the destination fee removed from my final bill. Staff was generally friendly. I would stay here again.
Rad spot In Oakland good food and drink in the area!
I love this place ! We have been over a handful of times . We live close , but sometimes we want a change of venue . The rooms are clean and safe and the staff is stellar . It’s a big of a boutique hotel and it’s on the water but I really love this hotel . My hat is off to the staff ! They are superb!
The hotel isn't the newest most updated accommodations, but it served its purpose 10 fold. Visiting the area for dinner and a concert (coming from SOCAL). This whole area is very walkable with a tremendous amount of dining and entertainment options. I felt safe the entire time walking the area. The best part was being able to walk right across the street for our dinner reservations and concert at Yoshi's (my happy place) I would definitely stay here again. Bed was comfy. When you walk around in the room though, you will hear the furniture moving/vibrating. Like I said, it's an old place, but nice. Boutique style. I wish it was a bit cheaper... but I'll continue to use my World of Hyatt points to stay.
