The Connally Hotel Downtown Atlanta, an Ascend Collection Hotel

bathroom lighting was not the best for trying to get ready for an evening concert and a little dated, but it was very clean

Coming in from another state, I was completely unaware of all of the construction going on, preventing us from getting to the hotel and having to ask construction crews how to get where we needed to go. The A/C didn't work in the lobby, so having to stand there for 10-15 min in an extremely stuffy room with sweat rolling down my back was not the best. The room itself felt very damp the entire time. The toilet didn't flush properly. The woman who did my check out was not kind or helpful. I thought I had left something in my room and instead of telling me she needed to see my ID (which was in my car due to packing up to leave), she came across as rude. She asked me when my checkout time was since I didn't give her my ID. I told her my checkout day was Saturday (5/30) and she never asked for my ID. She then looked at me and said "then I need your ID." Really not the best way to start a morning in thinking I've lost something valuable and dealing with a staff member that didn't seem to give a shit. All she did was give a room key so I could look in the room and didn't offer anything more. The woman working security at the time was very kind and helpful to me though. She offered to come up with me and help me look and took my information. Luckily, I did find what I had lost!

Nothing negative to say about the property at all, just the fact the city is doing so much work and blocks off all entry points to the hotel.

We stayed on the 14th floor and my water never got warm enough to shower. It felt like I took an ice bath! I didn't like someone knocking on my door at 10:15 telling me I needed to leave and checkout so they could clean my room. Checkout is at 11 so they should have been patient and gave me time to get out of there. The sausage at breakfast was also gross. Not a fan of chicken sausage at all! The rest was great!

The elevator was weird.

The staff was fairly unprofessional at times. I was ignored at the front desk for about 10-15 minutes with a line behind me, then there were secret incidental fees. Not to mention they were unstaffed and it showed. There was only one person stocking breakfast, which led to them always being agitated that the people staying there were “eating all the food”, as if we didn’t pay for it. The location is also not the best place in town. A nightclub down the street, construction on the other side, and many people who partake in extracurricular activities resulting in homelessness. Elevators were also exceptionally scary. One wouldn’t leave the first floor sometimes and the other? The door wouldn’t open all the way.

The hot water wasn’t hot

The lack of staffing at the front desk was disappointing. Everything was clean but I believe there was a stain on the bed sheets left behind when we first arrived it was strange. Tv would occasionally turn off on its on when it was in use and just turn back on whenever it would want to so that was a bit tedious.

I didn’t like the fact that I had to not only pay for the room, parking, and a deposit which was too much.

Not stroller friendly, you will get stuck in the elevator I did twice, room felt like a shoe box, toilet barely worked, surrounding area is gross, must pay to park, pictures are extremely deceiving
