Fabulous little hotel. Perfect location and very comfortable. Great bar, restaurant and cheese and wine bar too.
When I booked through Booking.com, breakfast was advertised at £12. However, upon arrival the General Manager on reception, informed us that breakfast would actually cost £15. I couldn't actually book the room with breakfast included and said this was becasue they'd have to pay extra commission to booking.com.
When we reached our room, the information provided there clearly stated that breakfast was £12. I showed this to the receptionist, but her response was dismissive, stating that the information was "old." She then said we could have breakfast for £12 only if we sat outside with non-resident guests and paid extra for tea and coffee.
This made little sense, particularly as complimentary tea and coffee were already provided in the room. Rather than continue the discussion, we chose not to have breakfast at the hotel and ate elsewhere instead.
I have since noticed that other guests have raised similar concerns regarding breakfast pricing. Clear and consistent information should be provided across all booking platforms, reception, and in-room materials to avoid confusion.
The hotel's website states: “Hospitality is our passion, ensuring your stay is memorable!” Unfortunately, our stay was memorable for the wrong reasons. I found the receptionist to be unfriendly, unhelpful, and lacking the customer service skills expected in a hospitality environment.
Attention: I would suggest either ensuring that your website's hospitality message is reflected in the service guests actually receive, or addressing the standards of customer service being delivered by your management team.
Also be aware that our room overlooked the side of the Co-op, which wasn't a particularly pleasant view.
Great location, staff and on the hottest day of the year the air con was fantastic
All good
Fantastic location, very boutique vibe, small enough to get good service, but large enough to have what you need in a hotel
parking can be trick ybut the staff will help you out
The entire visit, staff extremely helpful and assistive, Leanne, front of house is definitely a worthy asset to the hotel group
External Council owned car parks, "nightmare" no card only app.....
The room was fabulous as was yhe location. Friendly staff.
The price! I think it was overpriced at £250 for 1 night without breakfast.
The breakfast took ages - I appreciate it's cooked to order but it was much longer than expected. My yoghurt came out at the same time as my cooked breakfast! The staff were friendly but it felt very disorganised.
The suite was lovely, great size and facilities. Very comfortable bed. The bathroom was gorgeous too. The location of the hotel is fantastic too, right in the center of the town.
The water pressure in the shower was bad. Between the Haddon suite and the reception, there are no doors so you can hear a lot, loud conversations between the staff especially.
Great location, comfortable beds, friendly staff, super wine bar.
I'd stayed here before in a beautiful spacious room (which is why I returned), but this time the room was tiny, and there was noise outside the room from 5am (from a business at the back of the hotel). I found it impossible to sleep after that time. The price of the room was much more than I'd normally pay, so I felt robbed!
Nice people. Great breakfast. Very comphy bed. Nice room.
The staff were lovely.
Our room overlooked the town public toilets. The wine and cheese shop was closed the four days we were there. The receptionist was on vacation and we couldn’t get any help before 10 am and after 5 pm. The towels were changed and the duvet was pulled up every day but otherwise the room was not cleaned and the garbage was not emptied every day.
Beautiful room right in the centre of Bakewell. So comfy and clean. Staff were friendly and welcoming and meals were excellent, both breakfast and evening meal.
Nothing to dislike.
Lovely room, bathroom very nicely decorated and new. Very clean and comfortable. Great location.
Breakfast price for residents not explained to us at any point, it is cheaper to eat breakfast as a non-resident for what we ordered. Turned out to be £15 pp not written on menu or on booking paperwork or mentioned on check in or when we ordered breakfast. Very misleading.
Absolutely beautiful property. Lovely big, clean room with coffee machine , fridge and big comfy bed Lovely staff and very accommodating
Couldn’t stay longer!!
