Overpriced for what if offers, even by African hotel pricing standards
Pros:

This is more of a 3+ star hotel, and if it charged 130-150 euro per night, the price-quality ratio would be fine. At 250 euro per night, it seems exaggerated to me even by African standards, yet it was almost full, so they seem to be having good business somehow. On the positive side, the staff is really nice, everyone, once you are there. On the negative side, there is more:
1) I wrote an email to the address in the booking confirmation to book the free airport shuttle, I never received any reply. I received a personalized pre-arrival email asking about any request that I might have, I replied with the airport shuttle, and I didn't get any answer. Obviously, the shuttle wasn't there but some very nice Sofitel staff called the Novotel driver to come. (He did come within 5 minutes.) I must admit this experience framed my stay.
2) The whole place feels claustrophobic with its low ceilings, even in the lobby. Definitely more of the Ibis barrack 'vibe' than a 4-star wibe. The same holds for the rooms. Generic, dull design, let's impress at a low investment. OK, let's be fair, this can be accepted for a 4-star hotel.
3) Banging doors, no soft closing. This was particularly annoying as they seem to be servicing / cleaning vacated rooms on a continuous basis, during the afternoon and even at 8pm. Staff in, bang, staff out, bang.
4) Food was definitely underwhelming, with few appetizing choices at breakfast (no omelette station, and the terrible powder scrambled eggs), and lunch and dinner geared towards the buffet, perhaps because of the weekend. In my á la carte experience, quantity prevailed over quality. This applied especially to the tenderloin and, sadly, the chocolate 'trilogy' which were both huge but nothing to fall in love with.

We did spend time here by the swimmingpool, and in the restaurant, and they were top class .
The best food in Benin ,for sure.

Stáy in Benin
Pros:

Excellent stay in Benin during my ultralight trip from France to Zimbabwe. Ms Georgina and Ms Reine Desiree were wonderfully hospitable.

Das Hotel ist ok für einen kurzen Aufenthalt

Check in war schlecht !
Man sagte meine Firmen Kreditkarte Mastercard würde nicht gehen, falscher pin ! Statt eine andere Maschine zu nutzen waren die Jungs ziemlich stur und sprachen kein Englisch, so musste ich final meine Visa private Karte nutzen ! Am Ende stellte sich raus es war die Maschine die keine Mastercard nahm !
