Gary on the front desk was really helpful
In the bathroom the paper cups provided had marks on where previous guests had used them (clear toothpaste marks)

Gary on reception was the best customer service I've came across in 30 plus years, was so nice and refreshing to have someone with people skills kn the front desk.
The lifts were dated and only one working
The staff were very friendly. We travelled down from Scotland for my son’s 18th, we were visiting family. One night my son left his phone on the sofa in the lobby and the receptionist had paid enough attention to us to know that the phone belonged to my son, and the following night when he saw us enter the hotel he called to us. I can’t praise the staff enough.
The hotel was quiet. Perfect for us with a small toddler for sleeping.
Small play area downstairs and a pool table so while we were waiting to go out all three kids had something to do (from 3 to 18 years old).
The only problem I had was that I didn’t do enough research and it was a little off track for central Newcastle and surrounding areas where family were so each trip was 20/25 mins, but that wasn’t a hotel problem, it was a me problem for not checking.
