Pure Luxury and Thoughtful Hospitality at Zadún
Pros:

Our experience at Zadún, a Ritz-Carlton Reserve was absolutely amazing and truly unforgettable. The views and the property itself are stunning. Our room included a private plunge pool, which made the stay feel even more special and relaxing.
The attention to detail was exceptional. Each night during turndown service, we received a personalized gift—it was incredibly thoughtful. On New Year’s Eve, they beautifully decorated our bed, and upon arrival, they surprised me with a gift for my pregnancy and a separate gift for our daughter, which meant so much to us. At checkout, they even sent us home with a farewell gift.
The welcome drink was delicious, and the room service exceeded our expectations. We ordered breakfast daily and dinner twice, and everything was consistently excellent.
A special thank you to Andres, our butler, who truly went above and beyond to make our stay unforgettable. His care and exceptional service made all the difference, and we are forever grateful.
We cannot wait to return.

Avoid chain hotels—there’s plenty of other options.
Pros:

Our family’s wedding was rescheduled due to weather when the venue was flooded. The night before the wedding, the welcome party was held at Zadun and was the equivalent of two weddings as far as expenditure. Not to mention all the rooms and suites that were booked by various members of the wedding party. To salvage the night of the cancelled wedding, some additional family members (approximately 20 people) went to join the family at Zadun. Security (at the command of management) would not allow them in at 6:30 pm at night despite the bride and groom requesting that security allow them in. It’s outrageous that this hotel would not allow it. You would think they would have some compassion for the bride and groom after the terribly disappointing day. They claimed there were too many people in their suite but we would have moved to the hotel bar. Their complete lack of cooperation was just unconscionable. For a special event, pick one of the boutique hotels—not a chain—they will treat you much better and not try to extort you for more!

DO NOT DO IT! AWFUL WITH A CAPITAL AWFUL!
Pros:

AWFUL! TERRIBLE! BAD customer service! Wedding canceled because of weather (they can’t handle rain) and they wouldn’t let any guests in!! Imagine the money spent on a wedding, people crying, fortunes spent, and not letting guests in to ease the pain! Awful place. Trying to shake out every dollar in exchange. Go literally anywhere else!

The Service, the service, the service!
Pros:

First time to the area and was blown away by everything--the ambiance, the charm and beauty of the resort, the secluded beach where we watched our footsteps being erased by the constant surf. But more than anything, the staff at the resort are phenomenal. Every interaction was warm and engaging. From personal butler service to our wine sommelier at the beach, it was impeccable. Our room, 564, came with an amazing outdoor shower and wonderful patio with pool. Zadun matched the glowing reviews we had read, but know what you are getting. This is not the party scene at Cabo San Lucas. It is much much better!

If you’re looking for excellent service and serenity
Pros:

We were inadvertently diverted due to a hurricane in the Caribbean to San Jose Delano and Zadun. It was the best diversion we could’ve hoped for. First and foremost the staff - amazing, friendly, thoughtful. Everyone was outstanding. Next the locale - serene, beautiful, singular. Our room had an expansive view of the sea of coretez and yes, in Oct/Nov we saw whales from our room. Last but not least, the food, spa and service - rivals anywhere in the world. If you’re thinking of vacationing in Cabo, Zadun outside of San Jose Del Cabo is second to none.

Really great stay
Pros:

We booked last minute after deciding to change vacation plans, and we have never been to Cabo before.

We had a lovely stay. While quite expensive, the cost seems on par with other premium resorts in the area. In exchange we had a very large room, oceanfront, with modern plugs and amenities. The room was very clean, and the bedding was heavenly. The best part was hearing the ocean waves all night long.

Service was on point, with the pool staff and the dinner restaurant staff standing out, as well as our host, Jorge. We loved that there was both a large family pool, and a lovely adult pool. Meaning we could relax. Dinner was some of the best seafood we have had…ever. All outlets had a strong cocktail game. I would’ve liked to have seen more Mexican wines featured.

We really just came here to relax and decompress, which was accomplished. We didn’t go off property. I had a massage at the spa. It was okay but the pricing was outrageous and I cancelled a second appointment. The spa menu doesn’t show gratuity (expected) or tax. The two add 30% to the bill.

We just really enjoyed the adult pool, our massive room with plunge pool, the sound of the ocean, and our amazing dinners/cocktails.

We only had 2 issues: we had a roach invade the room each night of our stay (reported in other reviews but probably endemic to the climate), and on checkout, the bellman never arrived so my dear husband dragged our luggage uphill to checkout.

Otherwise we had a lovely stay, and plan to come back.

Feels Like Coming Home
Pros:

From start to finish, our stay at The Ritz-Carlton Reserve, Zadún was absolutely unforgettable! 🌅 From Miguel, our incredible butler (Tosani ) who anticipated every need, to the amazing team at Equis—especially Rodrigo— the service was warm, personal, and top-notch. A special thank-you to the General Manager Thomas Jecklin for the thoughtful bottle of birthday champagne—such a classy touch! 🥂
The highlight of the trip was the Argentinian pop-up restaurant—fantastic steaks, great music, creative cocktails, and cigars under the stars. Every single staff member at Zadún went above and beyond to make our experience exceptional.
Our family continues to return year after year because the staff always welcomes us back as if we’re coming home—their warmth and genuine care make Zadún truly one of a kind. ❤️

The best option in Cabo for relaxing in luxury
Pros:

Five stars from start to finish. The service, the food, the view, and the vibe. A truly beautiful resort with an excellent staff that make you constantly feel welcome and taken care of. We can’t say enough positive things about our experience at Zadún and would struggle to return to Cabo and stay anywhere else. We only stayed 2 nights as we wanted to try out a few resorts during our trip but it was by far our favorite and most memorable. Highly recommend breakfast at Barrio and the Australian steak at Argentinian night. The rooms at the resort are spread out so everyone gets around in golf carts and we had a blast getting driven up the mountain side after dinner. We really felt a sense of privacy with our room which is exactly what we were looking for. This is a resort you go for peace and relaxation.

95%
Pros:

Basics: 7 nights in an Ocean View, Upper floor with plunge pool; couple in our upper ages; physically fit and well-traveled.
Bottom-line: You expect the very best from a property like Zadun and pay for it. Very rarely do any deliver 100%. Generally, I’m satisfied at 95% and that’s what I’d score Zadun.
The property is physically beautiful. The suite we stayed in was excellent. The rooftop terrace with plunge pool was the star of the show.
Service: Top-notch. The staff was competent and friendly.
Restaurants: Unfortunately, the top restaurant, Humo, was under renovation during our stay. The hotel did a good job with a temporary substitute, Argentinian Grill. While the other restaurants were all very good, we were a bit disappointed with the menu selections. There is a lack of diversity in terms of cuisine. The service was routinely excellent, and the quality of the food was A+. Pricing was high, but not unexpectantly so.
Bars/Cocktails/Wine: Excellent service, creative cocktails, good selections. Excellent staff. Wines are outrageously marked up (in some cases 4x or 5x and never less than 3x).
Fitness Center: About what you’d expect.
Resort Pools: Never used them as we had our own, but they looked nice.
Spa: We took a pass as the pricing was twice what we have experienced at other Ritz-Carlton level resorts.
Beach: Eh. Not much of it and not very walkable. Don't come for the beach.
Other: Very hilly. We love to walk and are fit for our age, but we often had to resort to taking one of the golf cart rides. And if you like to walk, you are constantly having to deal with the numerous carts that are moving around the property all the time, ferrying guests, maintenance staff, in-room dining carts, etc. It’s somewhat annoying but unavoidable.
Judgment: Beautiful, great staff. Go if you love the one you're with and just want to hang out.

5 star review for the Ritz Reserve in Cabo
Pros:

My wife and I were looking for a special place to celebrate our 40th anniversary and we found it at the Zadun Ritz Reserve in Cabo. I have been fortunate to travel to many of the best hotels and resorts in North American, Europe and Japan but the Ritz Reserve in Cabo was the best! It started and ended with the absolutely amazing staff. The venue was fantastic and the food was great. This visit made for an unbelievable experience for us.

Postcard perfect and pampered
Pros:

Anniversary trip. The dedicated concierge service was outstanding. Needs were anticipated and there were incredible touches that weren’t requested. Rose petals and champagne with turndown service. Plunge pool pre-heated.

Our room was wonderful. Incredible view, very comfortable, thoughtful indoor/outdoor design.

Property design was great. Common areas, restaurants, pools, fitness center were all top notch.

At the end of our stay, our concierge worked with a local pharmacy to get some respiratory therapies delivered. Above and beyond level of service.

Best time ever!
Pros:

From the beginning, it was absolutely amazing. I chose to get an airport transportation through the hotel. Everything was seamless and as described. I was picked up in the suburban and dropped off in a navigator. Both trucks were pristine and very clean. Both drivers were very friendly and informative, and answered all the questions that I had. Once at the hotel, I was greeted and lead to check in by my daytime Tosoani/butler Guillermo, at check in someone was waiting there to make a drink of my preference and then I checked in. Everyone was so friendly and happy to see you there. I was then hand-delivered to spa staff whom presented me with a gift certificate for 2 hours of hydrotherapy. After that, I was escorted to my room by golf cart and once there I was shown around the entire room and shown how everything works. Everything was explained in detail and perfectly. My nighttime Tosoani, Diego introduced himself and made himself available to me throughout the night if I needed anything. Both Tosoani's communicate by text message, which makes everything very simple and easy. They set me up with dinner, reservations, a private dinner on the beach, and also suggested their recommendations for excursions off the resort grounds. As a solo traveler, I felt very taken care of and very safe the entire time. The entire staff made me feel seen and important. I went during off-season (Aug), so there weren't a lot of guest there, which was perfect. I'd definitely go back again.

Lovely and quiet
Pros:

My day was very nice. Everyone was really helpful. My butlers Mario and Rodrigo took very good care of me. It was a very large resort and everything seemed pretty new. The room smelled really good when you walked in it was very spacious and comfortable. The only downside was, it was not all inclusive, and there were a lot of things that you had to pay extra for but the peace and quiet was worth all the money.

Quiet lixuey at its best
Pros:

A true quiet luxury spot where experiences go beyond expectations. I cannot describe what you will truly experience in the resort but you will nevere want to leave. We came from Paris it was a long trip but was totally worth it. once you arrive the view are breathetaking. The different amenities of the hotel make your trip complete and the staff is the most exceptional part of the experience. every single smile, attention, gift is priceless. The full time dedicated buttler is the cherry on the cake. Do not miss the bar with its incredible architecture. Every room is crafted in raw and beautiful materials. Absolutely stunning!!

Beautiful & luxurious
Pros:

Stayed mid-July and it was HOT! Our visit timing was planned for a birthday celebration. I would likely not travel to this location mid-summer again. That being said, it’s a wonderful hotel. Excellent service, beautiful views, delicious food. Probably the best room we’ve ever experienced at a Marriott property. Minus 1 star as it has 2 pools - an adults only pool and a family pool. The entire adults-only pool & bar/restaurant area was closed during our stay. We did communicate with the concierge prior to our stay regarding activities & amenities and the closure was not brought to our attention until we arrived at check-in.
