We requested an early check-in and the staff were very accommodating. We were also given a complimentary one-hour late checkout, which was much appreciated.
Every question we asked was answered helpfully, and we couldn’t fault the staff at all — even the cleaning team were very friendly. It really makes a difference when staff are happy and genuinely look after you.
The room was good, the bed was comfortable, and the shower had great pressure.
Overall, the staff make this a special place to stay. It’s close to the central business district and within easy walking distance to everything.
One small area for improvement would be an exhaust fan in the bathroom, as the shower steam filled the room.
The location was perfect, and very clean and comfortable..

This is the second time ive stayed here. Great location, easy to get anywhere. Great views. Parking is tight so best to bring your smallest car. Easy check in.

The room was spacious, comfortable. We arrived very early in the morning expecting just to drop off our luggage in their secure storage before exploring the city, we were pleasantly surprised that our room was ready and we were able to check straight in.
We liked their sustainably practises listed in their info book. We ate in their restaurant once for dinner, the food was excellent, the staff lovely, my husband had breakfast there & was able to order at the restaurant but get it in a takeaway container which was great.
Views from our room over the city and waterfront were splendid. As we stayed 3 nights we chose to only have our room serviced once and I was there when the room attendant came by and she was lovely and replenished more than just the towels I requested.
Everything worked in the room, sky TV was great (it was the only time I got to watch some of the Winter Olympics). No air conditioning (heat pump) but they did provide a fan in the room, which was greatly appreciated.
Quiet hotel and the location was great, close walk to everything and being on the outskirts of the main centre meant no noise from bars etc (though there was a 2 day concert in the park across the street because of the long weekend but it was just during the day as we were out and about for most of that time, the evening was quiet)
I enjoyed everything, even the classic decor! I would only say that I couldn’t use the closest plug to the bed base because of the bed base being in the way but I can’t even list it as an actual thing not to like, because the fact there was a multi box there to begin with was a win!!
No pen for the feedback paper form by the tv, but I do wonder if there could be a way that feedback form could be incorporated into your other online options for people to fill out via the QR code - or as an MS forms survey? Would go along nicely towards your sustainability goals beyond not providing a pen so it doesn’t get used.
It is close to Courtney Place so a nice walk to watch a show at the Opera House.

Could have been cleaner
I liked the service, the staff were very helpful with checking in and out. The room was clean and the bed was very comfortable.
I didn’t like how our room was changed from the king suite to the boardroom at check-in. I know they said it was an upgrade, and it was a large space, but the reason I booked in the first place was for a harbour-view room on a higher level. So it did upset me a bit as I would’ve chosen somewhere else had I known.

The location is perfect. Right across from the park and a few blocks away from theaters and Te Papa. A great place to stay if you don’t want to rent a car.
