The Langham is lovely. The food is good and the staff is wonderful. The landscaping is really nice and the view from my window in my room was of the pool and hot tub and bridge.
Amazing property! Only place to stay in Pasedena! Beautiful and luxurious! Second time we have stayed there in two months!
The staff took care of every request promptly and with great care. The rooms and the rest of the hotel were clean and great spaces to relax in.
It is everything you expect in a 5 star hotel. The staff was incredible, the rooms beautiful and the food was wonderful
We loved our stay here. Nothing felt ostentatious or contrived, it just felt of exceptional quality and very well curated. We had a wonderful time here. The staff was very thoughtful, kind and helpful. They never seem to rushed and they seem to well taking care of. Everyone was very knowledgeable and cared about the history of the place. All of the amenities were extremely comfortable and beautiful. The food was also wonderful. We hope to come back very soon.
I care here with my boyfriend for Valentine’s Day weekend. My firm has a corporate rate for this stay, so I really thought I was getting a steal for what was supposed to be an amazing stay. Upon checking in, they said our room wasn’t ready, but rest assured, we could stay on premise while they prepare it. They also said they would give me a call or text when it was done. It was a busy weekend for them, I’m sure so I waited one hour. After an hour and a half, I decided to call the front desk. I was told my request would be a rush and I should get assigned a room shortly. It took TWO HOURS for them to get a room for us. I called and the line hung up so I ended up going to the front desk myself and advocating for a room (mind you, rates for the weekend I stayed at were up to $950 +). Would you pay $900/ night for this? The front desk supervisor said she’d wave my guest amenity fee, which was nice, but looking back at my work’s corporate benefit, it’s already waived! We were having issues with the chrome cast and the engineer couldn’t figure it out. Because of that, they waived our valet fee. That was nice, but should’ve never happened in the first place.
Someone also ate at the Tap Room (one of the on site dining restaurants) and charged it to my room. Don’t you have people checking to verify? I wasn’t even on premise during that time. It was adjusted, but at this point, I had no faith in the hotel righting their wrongs.
Upon leaving, we asked for slippers. We just wanted the damn slippers, we thought it was a reasonable request for our terrible stay. Apparently, just like at checking in, we were forgotten about. After 15 minutes we left. This was a less than impressive stay. Three stars because that’s how this hotel functions, like a three star stay.
Don't book this hotel unless you want to pay a gigantic price ($700+/night) even if you cancel more than 72 hours ahead of checkin AND even if you have cancellation insurance. You can’t even speak directly to the hotel and end up in India or somewhere trying to explain that you want a refund for a future stay. Ridiculous!
Everything from the valet to the concierge, the servers at the restaurant, and the housekeeping was above average! Our cozy breakfast by the pool was delicious!
Our room was nice and cozy. The bed was comfortable. We totally enjoyed the entire stay!
Such a gorgeous historic hotel. I don’t know if my room was the only one not updated, but it was bad. Carpet was a trip hazard. Room was 80 degrees. My room wasn’t ready. Worst $1300 I’ve ever spent.
You've got to see the Langham to believe it. Beautiful and regal. And huge but with an incredibly helpful staff to help you navigate until you get a lay of the land. But it was fun getting lost and seeing all the art. And certainly got my Fitbit steps in!
I have stayed at the Langham many times. Each visit reminds me of how timelessly classic and dignified this hotel is. The staff are wonderful and accommodating, and always friendly. The restaurants are great. The grounds are beautiful and grand, and the rooms are extremely comfortable. I have never had a bad experience here.
Very nice location and the hotel and service is good. The problem is the number of screaming children at the pools all day and night. There is no effort by the hotel to keep the noise levels at a minimum. It literally never stopped and ruined our entire trip. I would not recommend especially since it is advertised as a relaxing wellness retreat. Very disappointed.
I’ve stayed at Langham in NYC and Chicago and both were excellent, 5-Star experiences.
This recent stay was not anywhere close to even a 4 star experience.
The rooms were dingy and smelled musty. There were bugs in the tub and the hotel was generally understaffed.
We attended a workplace event here. Efficient valet parking. Interesting historic building. They circulated heavy hors d’oeuvres such as caprese salad, gyoza, mini poke bowls with fresh tuna, and a pear and cheese pastry. Good food with a wide array of interesting entrees on the buffet and great desserts including tiramisu. Sound quality was unclear when our colleagues were using the mic. Good music and we even danced a bit!
The Langham Pasadena continues to be one of our favorite places to return to, and after eight years of visits, it truly feels like home. The longevity and warmth of the staff speak volumes about the culture and care behind this beautiful property.
Even before arrival, Steven in Reservations consistently ensures we are booked into the best room for our needs and at the best rate as Brilliant members. For this stay, we brought our Dalmatian for her very first visit, and his room recommendation was perfect — right down to being assigned Room 101, which felt like a thoughtful and fitting welcome.
Despite arriving during the busy Christmas week, valet and check-in were seamless and well organized. The team provided a thorough overview of the property, Club Lounge perks, and activities to enjoy while our room was prepared.
The Club Lounge remains a highlight of every stay. While the recent renovation is stunning, it’s the staff who make it exceptional. Yeymi and the entire team — Patricia, Eva, Fernanda, Dave, Manuela, and Dani — consistently go above and beyond, making every visit feel personal and welcoming.
Our renovated room was light, airy, and beautifully designed, complete with thoughtful dog amenities, a private patio, and easy access to the grounds. It was comfortable, spacious, and ideal for traveling with a pet.
The Tap Room is another favorite — not only for its historic charm, but for the incredible staff, especially Jessica and Garrett, who always make us feel like regulars.
The Langham Pasadena is truly a gem in the hills, and during the holidays, its signature pink décor makes it even more magical. We can’t wait to return.
I am hoping for a new owner soon--hotel is not what it has been over the last 45 years. Why was room 1511 just so underwhelming--I could not believe it was the Langham. I and my family, business associates, friends have stayed in the building many times that produced wonderful memories.
What happened???
I found the room clean and welcoming. The staff was superb in anticipating any needs I had and very helpful. One waiter even caught me as I almost fell in the Royce Restauran.l
The Room Service needs to be better, the Valet Cashier needs to be more attentive, and there just needs to be more staff to support the guests. The worst part is that the Concierge never answers the phone.
Homeless ! I did not expect homeless person to be changing shoes and putting cigarette in mouth in middle of restaurant. The Charcuterie board seemed like it was from Safeway. Kids allowed to sit at bar (longest time was about 10 minutes). 2 guys seated at bar next to us, were missing 1 slider. They ended getting comped for their dish.
Way to welcome guests from Indiana and Alabama !
Could not stay for dinner as I was disappointed.
Beautiful historical well-maintained building located on the top of the hill in a lovely residential area. The hotel has a beautiful lobby with various rooms to enjoy.
The housekeeping staff did a great job keeping the building super clean and saying hello in hallways.
It’s a special place- but there’s no special experience at check in- no glass of champagne or juice- not even a smile. Rather you wait for service in the busy lobby - which is an ongoing theme.
Unfortunately the hotel is not well run and not attentive to guests at all. Rather they make excuses for their incompetence and lack of professionalism.
Despite an additional $60 per day resort fee, the room had NO supplies (bar soap, cotton swabs, makeup wipes, shower cap, shaving kit, dental kit), just the standard built in liquid soap/shampoo/body lotion. Only 2 small plastic water bottles and pod coffee in the room. You had to call- and wait for someone to answer-and wait for delivery-for anything more. There was no coffee/tea or water urn in lobby. I have stayed in budget hotels with more supplies!
The hotel food was ok/good but overall was subpar for Pasadena/LA. There were long waits everywhere- 45 min to get into the incredibly overpriced Terrace restaurant for breakfast that was included in our luxury package with watery coffee and loud ambiance; 25 minutes waiting for car- with mandatory $50 valet and nowhere else to park - at check-in we were not told how to order car in advance- but found out the first time after waiting; 15 minute waiting to get to front desk personnel to change room (from first one right over loading dock, with mosquitoes) and later to correct erroneous bill when we wanted a quick departure. We were not escorted to the room. Front desk staffer corrected bill and graciously provided further reductions. We’re grateful for that- but can’t help but wonder how many others were overcharged and didn’t notice or have time to get it corrected.
Room service was ok- but one day brought the wrong bread and another brought watery coffee- when we asked for it strong. Considering the prices- it should have been better.
