Loved the interiors and the location, it feels you’re visiting a grande Maison, very personalised and decorated with style. Unassuming glamour without being stuffy.
The wear and tear is starting to show. Could have ad a few more personalised touches for an enhanced experience.
The hotel itself is absolutely beautiful—very vintage and artistic, with a subtle, pleasant fragrance throughout the room.
It is located directly opposite the Papal Palace. We booked a stay with breakfast included; the breakfast room is stunning, and the selection is generous and delicious.
All the staff were extremely polite and warm, and whenever I had any questions, they helped me right away.
Hotel and staff lovely. Chose to have dinner at the bistro and was served inedible veal. Not able to cut with a knife, and not able to chew. I pointed this out to the staff and via an email, and no one seems to care.
The waitress (solo) offered to have it cooked more. That was not the issue. I am a rare/raw meet person.
The chef should know.
We have now stayed at La Mirande 5-6 times between Christmas and New Year's over the last years. We have eaten at the Haute Table (highly recommended!) and the Bistrot and always had an excellent meal. Our room has always been excellent and the service top tier. Avignon is a magical city and La Mirande is an amazing hotel with a storied history...
The only complaint I have, and I do not blame La Mirande, is getting to the hotel in our car was a bit more difficult this year. Apparently, the City of Avignon now manages the 'street gates' that move up and down to control traffic. When we tried to call in to have the barrier lowered (at both gates), there was no answer for a few minutes. It is quite frustrating as there were several cars blocked behind us waiting for us to be let in. I hope the City improves their service for next year, as we will be back!
The Michelin star restaurant, exceptional chef, and also exceptional service and sommelier. The hotel itself is beautiful and so tastefully maintained, and everyone is welcoming, helpful and accommodating. Our room was fantastic and also good tea selection and cocktails, and great breakfast.
The heating throughout was so extreme it almost ruined our stay, one of the days it was at 32 DEGREES- it actually made my husband ill after a day of it, he had to get medication, nasal douch etc from the pharmacy for severe rhinitis, and the only relief he could get was to constantly go outside into cool air, or go to our room where we had windows open. The staff (who were incredible) were visibly red in the face and sweating, or sniffing from the extreme temperature, it was making me nauseous, and I observed customers in the tea room or bar leave frequently during our 3 days, saying it was too hot. I cannot understand why or how the heating would be at such an unhealthy level. What a shame for such a wonderful hotel.
Incredible location. Incredible furnishings, space. I felt I lived in a piece of History like nobility would have but with modern comfort.
I liked everything. It’s a 10/10. I travel a lot and have been to incredible properties but this tips it all.
Very central with old world charm.
Nothing
The hotel is beautiful in person. The staff are helpful and hospitable. I loved the garden. It was so tranquil and pretty. I would highly recommend and would definitely stay here again!
Everything about this place is was exquisite and tastefully done. The staff is exceptional as well going above and beyond in helping us wineries and taxis. Our room was right behind the Pope’s palace and it was beautiful! Highly recommend! I wish we had tried the Michelin restaurant.
The attention to detail, the architecture, the people, the food, the view…
All was class and yet low key and comfortable.
The staff is excellent
