Room was comfortably furnished and a good size.
Being as the room faced the main road with a bar opposite, it was a little noisy at times, but that was the trade off for being in a central city location.
One window didn't fit very well, which allowed in more noise.

It was all very average. Reception staff were ok on arrival,. though the system couldn't deliver an invoice on departure. Room cleaning was excellent. Car parking was adequate. View of Cathedral from room was magnificent - even the peregrine falcons put in an appearance!
Bedroom furnishing was poor. No draws for clothing and a mish-mash of colours and styles. It felt as though the hotel had just chucked in everything that had left over from other rooms, or had bought cheap in a sale. Inadequate noise suppression between rooms - could hear next door guests conversation in detail. For the room rate it was unacceptable overall - will not go back unless absolutely unavoidable.

They joined two single beds together and there was a ridge in the middle -not great. Perhaps put a topper over and then we wouldn’t have noticed

I had a comfortable room with decor I really liked. I also liked that the original building was ancient. The staff were all helpful and friendly and the breakfasts good. One of the best hotels I’ve ever stayed in.
I didn’t have an evening meal at the hotel, but noticed there was only one vegetarian option on offer. Perhaps a bit more variety here would enhance the menu.
Excellent shower - easy to use without scalding or freezing
Hotel was clean and stylish.
Everything was lovely, just needed better ventilation in the bathroom, and the shower didn’t work properly. Was only set you hot and wouldn’t turn down.

Very clean and tidy. Well maintained. However the shower wasn’t powerful enough, and took an age to rinse myself down.
Our room was located above a ‘Spoons’ and the noise outside was awful and we couldn’t get to sleep until the early hours. We did complain but all we were offered was a discount voucher if we booked another stay. As if we would go back…. Another issue is that we had to pay £10 to park on the hotel car park, but if we’d only booked a meal we wouldn’t have to pay! We had breakfast - isn’t that a meal?
Very comfortable rooms. Lovely breakfast. Friendly staff. A highlight was a tour of the city in a wonderful vintage Bentley - Nick the driver was very knowledgeable and helpful.
