The hotel was a good hotel , and staff were amazing and the rosette dining is the best dining experience we have ever had the food was amazing as well as the service, Lily was fabulous.
The hotel was a good hotel but we had a couple of issues, where we moved room twice the reception staff were really good, with one exception, but Sarah was really good, but the having to move twice in a three day stay was a little disappointing for an establishment of this calibre.
Location and quaintness
No aircon. UK is not built for hot weather
There is a comfy, spacious feel about the place plus the location, with its own car park
It is aged, and not up to usual access standards - especially the lack of a lift.
We had no hot water on the first day (which was charged at a concessionary half price). The second day I had to go to down to breakfast unshaven because I could not run a basin of hot water, which took ages to get up the temperature, because the plug was stuck closed.
The staff are generally pleasant but lack training. Little things like being offered “sorvinyon’ wine (despite being given the correct pronunciation) brings the class of the place down.
The breakfast aimed to offer a big choice but fell down on detail - cheap catering orange juice, filthy sweet apple juice, jams etc offered in plunger style containers.
We had dinner once, the chef clearly likes to offer interesting dishes but the offering was not quite up to it. The house red wine was disgusting.
The room was spacious and well appointed. The location in centre Norwich suited our needs.
