Lovely quiet room as requested, good breakfast, welcoming and helpful staff
The cheap muffin with the eggs royale breakfast dish let it down.
The decor and location.
Meal was yummy. breakfast was good too
We were offered an upgrade free of charge
Being charged extra for the use of the car park. When already paid nearly £200 for one night. This could be included -
Service in the restaurant was a little all over the place - no one was really in charge
Fantastic location in a lovely, well-maintained, ancient hotel. Very comfortable executive double room (402) had a great view of the cathedral and peregrine falcon flying around the spire.
Very friendly and helpful staff. Exceptionally good Sunday roast.
Was a shame the complimentary Bentley ride wasn’t available on the weekend we stayed (because of a wedding) - maybe next time!
The location
Window was broken therefore couldn’t close it so difficult to sleep as too much noise
Location was excellent. Staff were very friendly. Room was spacious and clean.
Our room faced onto the Main Street and you could hear a lot of noise from people outside. It was a Saturday night so probably a bit louder than normal.
Great location in town centre. Friendly and helpful staff. Great food. Rooms very nice.
Only consideration is no lifts and plenty of stairs...
The hotel is very stylish and furnishings lovely and very spacious and comfortable. Everything is a beautiful mixture of traditional and high-quality modern; lovely wooden bannisters that you want to stroke. We loved the location, which could not have been better for city centre sightseeing. The staff were charming and helpful. The hotel car park behind the hotel is a huge bonus.
The bed was a bit soft for those used to a considerably firmer mattress.
Dry central and well appointed
Internal signage not clear
Hotel and staff were very good. Bed was very comfortable and shower excellent.
Breakfast was excellent. A very well run hotel.
Location was exceptional for seeing Norwich and walkable from the railway station.
Room was a little tighter than ideal.
The room was a very good size, was beautifully decorated (not too mediaeval themed), warm, comfortable bed and armchairs, and scrupulously cleaned (thanks Agnes and Clare). The building is nicely quirky, lots of little staircases, small lounges, perfectly located across from the cathedral and easy walk to Castle and Market area and river etc and I’m over 80 with some joint problems! Very good breakfast.
Being less agile I found carrying my case up and stairs to my room difficult. I also have hearing problems and didn’t catch what the receptionist said at checkin about how to find my room but I think he said ask someone in the restaurant if I needed help. I couldn’t find the restaurant but another guest kindly helped. The checkout receptionist was very helpful.
The location, the friendliness, the Bentley tour! Ooh also great food.
