I liked that I accessed my room from inside-there was a hallway. I loved the pool area and how that was laid out. It was a neat place.
I didn’t like that there wasn’t an elevator. It wasn’t in a great area of town, but I did feel safe and it was convenient for me since I was visiting someone in the hospital.
Great experience! Nice clean newly renovated rooms and it's pet friendly! Affordable even with the pet fees! Very nice staff. We felt welcomed!
I recently stayed at the Days Inn by Wyndham in Shorter, Alabama, for a family reunion, and unfortunately, this was one of the worst hotel experiences I have ever had.
On the second night of our stay, we returned to our room and found a roach crawling on the desk. On the third night, we found multiple roaches inside the clothing/storage drawer area. When we opened the drawer, there were several roaches crawling around, and we also found another roach in the bathroom.
There were also ongoing maintenance and cleanliness issues. Every day when we brushed our teeth, water would leak from the sink and create a large puddle on the bathroom floor. This was clearly an ongoing plumbing issue that had not been properly addressed.
Unfortunately, the issues were not limited to our room. My sister’s room had visible mold and mildew on the walls, as well as small bugs around the baseboards. We noticed similar tiny bugs around the baseboards in our room as well.
The final straw came when we were packing to leave. Because we had already encountered multiple roaches, we were concerned about accidentally bringing them home with us, so we carefully shook out our belongings. My husband found a large roach and a small roach inside my tote bag. At that point, it was clear that this was far beyond an isolated incident.
I reported everything to the front desk at checkout. The only thing I was offered was 10% off a future stay.
A future stay? Why would I voluntarily return to a hotel where I encountered multiple roaches, bugs, mold/mildew, and a leaking bathroom?
Had there been other hotels in Shorter where our family reunion was taking place, I absolutely would have stayed somewhere else. Unfortunately, this appeared to be the only hotel option in the immediate area, so we were essentially left with no reasonable alternative. That makes the lack of concern from management even more disappointing.
I was not offered a refund, partial reimbursement, meaningful accommodation, or even what I would consider basic empathy and customer service. The response made me feel as though these conditions were not taken seriously.
I sincerely question whether the leadership of Wyndham would personally stay in a property operating under these conditions. Guests should not have to accept roaches crawling through their rooms, bugs in their belongings, mold and mildew, or leaking plumbing simply because they have no other lodging option nearby.
I hope Wyndham takes this review seriously and investigates the conditions at this property. This was not simply a case of a room needing a little updating—it was a serious cleanliness, maintenance, and customer-service issue that needs to be addressed.
Muy buen servicio y el hotel muy cómodo

It was clean and a great location.
It said they had a light breakfast items. It was muffins and Danish's. I would probably upgrade to maybe grits, oatmeal and possible toast. that would still fall under light breakfast items. Having sweets first thing in the morning is a lot to take in. the ice machine never had ice. If they only have the one machine for the hole place. They may want to invest in a few more. it was not a deal breaker though. I would stay there again.
People were nice.
The pool was bricked in. And for the rice I could have found better. Needs a good clean and up keep. Need to update photos.
Room was very clean. Renovations were being made, so it was a bit noisy, but tolerable. Staff was very nice. Very close to Victoryland casino.
Location
Hate they were renovating and the room we had was covered on the outside where they had been painting with plastic and tape around the door
