A lovely hotel in a beautiful historic building. We had a large, very comfortable room. We appreciated the à la carte breakfast in the hotel restaurant. The staff were very attentive and helpful.
Clean room and quick check in
We could have used a late checkout .
We liked the hotel, I loved the smell when you entered the lobby, near the train, beautiful location. Restaurants near by and good vibes. The staff was very nice, kind, and friendly. The room was pretty clean. Nice and comfy bed. We had two complementary bottles of water.
We didn't like the temperature in the room. Those 2 days we couldn't manage it, I tried to adjust the thermostat but it was stuck or fixed I couldn't bring it down. It was 73-74 degrees inside the room. The front desk person mentioned that it was only the second floor with that problem and offered us to change rooms. But the problem was in the entire hotel. Something with heat/ac issue that it couldn't be fixed immediately. We couldn't sleep well. I ended sleeping with a wet towel on me.
The room was beautiful. The staff were polite and professional. The construction made it difficult to navigate but that's not really your fault. Lastly I wish there was one larger trash can.
One of the elevators was broken. The AC didn't work very well.

LONG REVIEW- APOLOGIZE IN ADVANCE. I am currently at this "hotel". Me and my family arrived after a long travel day around 945pm to no parking. The entrance was blocked by 4 vehicles so I circled the area roughly 3 times. Finally, I decided to block the street to go in to get answers. Before I could get out of my vehicle, a very apologetic young man approached about the parking situation. He explained he was pulled from the restaurant to help because they are short staffed, they didn't expect so many guests. He directed me to a garage across the street. If you have been to DC then you know across the street is not as easy as it sounds. I get over to the garage to find it closed. I maneuver back to the hotel and at this point, my patience is GONE. The same gentleman, still apologizing, says I can do valet. I think that was their plan all along. I never do valet, don't trust it, and I told him this. He offered to allow me to park my own vehicle. This was the smallest, tightest parking lot I've ever seen. I had staff park while I watched because I was scared to hit someone. I noticed there were only 2 spots left so idk where they would put your vehicle after that. I finally go in and the front desk advises me valet is $75. What were my other options? She said street parking is free or there are other garages. Where are these garages? And again, if you've been to DC you know street parking is nonexistent. Atp,WHATEVER, I'm tired. Get to the room, it's a sauna. Thermostat reads 69 but it feels more like 79. I cut on the air and wait for the room to cool, never happens. The reading actually rose to 71. I felt sorry for the kids I was traveling with but I didn't notify anyone because, like I stated, I'm tired. I just want to try to sleep and leave as early as possible! Gave it a 2 because the room was clean and a nice size (but 1 washcloth for 4ppl).
* they brought my car around from valet and parked me in the pouring ! Really ! *
They are not forthcoming when there are problems at the hotel. The first night we arrived. Apparently there was a Watermain break, which obviously is outside of their control, and yet the person at the front desk never even bothered to tell us that our room had no water. Furthermore, apparently the air-conditioning wasn’t working, and our room was at 77° all weekend, again no one told us that there was an ongoing problem until we asked.
Lack of transparency when there are problems with the facility. Also a general rudeness of the staff at the registration desk.
Had a great stay at the Churchill — it's in a solid spot, just a short walk from Dupont Circle, which makes getting around easy.
Check-in was smooth and the staff were genuinely welcoming. The hotel has a lot of character with unique décor and art — the kind of place that actually feels distinct rather than another interchangeable hotel experience. The price was very reasonable for the quality of the stay as well.
It was a very quiet stay with no noise issues to report.
The room was spacious, clean, and the bed was exceptionally comfortable, which at the end of the day is what matters most.
Would definitely recommend it to anyone staying in DC.
it was great the rooms were clean nothing gave trouble
Perfect walking distance to the conference hotel next door
We had a wonderful family gathering at the Churchill Hotel last weekend and couldn’t have asked for a better experience! The staff was exceptionally friendly and attentive, making us feel right at home. Our rooms were spacious and comfortable, giving the whole family plenty of space to relax. The hotel’s location was perfect—just minutes from the cherry blossoms and all the sights of DC—which made exploring with the family so easy and enjoyable. Everything about our stay exceeded our expectations, and we would happily return for another family trip.
We had a wonderful weekend stay at The Churchill Hotel with our family and thoroughly enjoyed our experience. From the moment we arrived, the front desk staff was exceptionally friendly, welcoming, and helpful, which made us feel comfortable right away.
The location was absolutely perfect for our trip. We were in town to visit the cherry blossoms at the Mall, and the hotel made it so convenient to enjoy everything we had planned. Being so close to the main attractions really added to the ease and enjoyment of our weekend.
Overall, we had a lovely stay and created some great family memories. The combination of the excellent service, warm hospitality, and ideal location made our visit especially memorable. We would definitely be happy to stay here again.
From the beginning everything was excellent. Deborah was very friendly and understood I was tired from spending the night before at the airport. She went way above of typical clerk. She made me feel like I was part of the family and I helped me out with everything I needed. I assure you when I return to DC I will be staying at the Churchill Hotel. One other note every employee I met had a great attitude and a smile on their faces. Thanks for a wonderful stay.
This hotel was stunning and the service was absolutley stellar. Clean, Great location and Great service. Special shout out to the General manager sean who gave us a tour and the history of the building. My wife and I will be definetly back.
I recently stayed at the Churchill while attending a conference at the Omni Shoreham and had a great experience. The location was ideal, with an easy walk to the Shoreham and convenient access to exploring DC. It was also close to both the Woodley Park and Dupont Circle Metro stations, which made getting around very simple.
The staff were very friendly and helpful throughout my stay, which made the experience feel even more welcoming and seamless. My room was clean, comfortable, and quiet, and I slept exceptionally well thanks to the very comfortable bed.
Overall, it was a smooth and enjoyable stay, and I would absolutely choose the Churchill again on my next trip to DC.
