The Grand Hyatt Hotel location is very convenient, adjoining Plaza Indonesia and just across the road from Grand Indonesia. The traffic around the "Bunderan", the round about in front of the hotel, can be chaotic during peak hours so you best allow extra time. The hotel services are great, breakfast choices delicious with many local favourites. The public areas of the hotel are still excellent, however the room is dated and could benefit with a major renovation and refresh.

I stayed at Grand Hyatt Jakarta Thamrin for a business trip and had an overall comfortable experience.

The highlight of my stay was Ms Sheva at the front desk. She provided excellent service during check-in — professional, efficient, and very welcoming. Her attention to detail and courteous manner really set the tone for the stay and reflects well on Hyatt’s service standards.

The room was clean, spacious, and quiet, with a comfortable bed and good workspace for business. The location in central Thamrin was very convenient.

One small note: there was a dripping water sound from the air conditioning. The housekeeping team noticed it during cleaning and mentioned a repair request had been submitted. I trust this will be followed up.

Overall, I would recommend Grand Hyatt Jakarta, especially for the service from Ms Sheva and the convenient location.

I have stayed at this hotel several times, and it never disappoints. The location is excellent, but the real highlight is the staff. They are always caring, friendly, and attentive.

I keep coming back to Grand Hyatt Jakarta since 2025 till now. Love the hospitality from Grand Hyatt Jakarta. Family room was large, very comfortable. Location is strategic and very convenient to go plaza indonesia and grand indonesia mall. All staff was very polite and welcome us very well.

The location of the Hotel is very central and convenient, Hotel is directly connected to several malls with tons of dinning options. View from the rooms is impeccable. Atmosphere in the Lobby and all public areas is superb. Rooms are large, clean and very comfortable. The breakfast and evening cocktails at the club lounge is fantastic. Service at all level is friendly, professional, prompt and welcoming. Amenities provided in the room is very good.

We stayed at Grand Hyatt Jakarta for one night in July 2026 as a family of four, with two children aged 6 and 4. The stay itself had several positive points: the room was spacious, the location was excellent, and the hotel was generally comfortable. However, our overall impression was strongly affected by how the hotel handled a serious concern I raised regarding the online check-in process.

We stayed in a Twin Room of around 50 sqm, which was one of the stronger parts of the stay. The room felt spacious for 2 adults and 2 children, with a sofa area, work desk, bathtub, separate toilet and shower, and a comfortable seating area by the window overlooking Bundaran HI. The room was quiet, clean, and comfortable, and we slept well. For a city hotel, the room layout worked well for our family.

The location is also a major advantage. Grand Hyatt Jakarta is connected to Plaza Indonesia, close to Grand Indonesia, and the MRT station is directly in front of the hotel. It is also convenient for guests who want access to Bundaran HI, Tanah Abang, shopping, restaurants, or business activities in central Jakarta. I can see why this hotel works well for visitors from outside Jakarta or overseas who want a practical and central base.

Breakfast was good, with a wide variety of options and several child-friendly choices. My children enjoyed some of the fun breakfast items such as chocolate milk and marshmallows. The service during check-in was smooth, our request for a good view was accommodated, and the hotel also prepared a complimentary cake and celebratory note, which was a thoughtful gesture.

However, from a family staycation perspective, the children’s facilities felt quite limited. There is a kids’ pool and some simple outdoor activities near the pool area, but no proper playground or dedicated kids’ club. For Jakarta-based families looking for a hotel where children can spend more time enjoying the facilities, there are other hotels in a similar price range, and even some more affordable ones, with more complete family facilities.

My biggest concern, however, was not the facilities. Before arrival, I tried to use the online check-in link for my stay. Instead of showing my own reservation, the page displayed another guest’s personal and booking information, including their name, membership details, stay information, and partial payment card information. This naturally made me very concerned about whether my own personal and membership information could also be exposed to another guest in the same way.

I raised this concern directly with the hotel during check-in. I also mentioned it again through the official post-stay survey. In my view, the hotel had two opportunities to acknowledge the issue properly, investigate it, and reassure me that my own data was secure. Unfortunately, the responses I received did not address the specific data privacy concern at all and felt like general template replies. For an issue involving possible exposure of guest information, I expected a much more serious and direct response.

This lack of acknowledgement was disappointing and made me feel that guest feedback, especially on a sensitive matter like data privacy, was not handled with the level of care I would expect from a five-star international hotel. I understand that system issues can happen, but when a guest reports seeing another guest’s private booking and partial payment information, the follow-up should not feel generic.

Overall, Grand Hyatt Jakarta offers a comfortable room, good breakfast, and an excellent central location. It may work well for business travelers, shopping trips, or visitors from outside Jakarta who prioritize access to Plaza Indonesia, Grand Indonesia, MRT, Bundaran HI, and Tanah Abang. However, for our purpose as a Jakarta-based family looking for a children-focused staycation, the hotel felt quite average. Combined with the poor handling of my data privacy concern, I would be hesitant to return unless there was a very compelling reason to stay specifically in the Bundaran HI area.

The location was great in the heart of Jakarta. It is also connected to mall with a few adjacent malls as well.
Breakfast options were abundant with delicious local flavours.

Everything was more than expected

Club lounge food was excellent. Can wear a bikini at the pool without security hassle.

Staying at this hotel during Jakarta's birthday weekend made the rooms very noisy as there were celebrations directly outside at the Bundaran monument. If you will be staying at this hotel in late June, suggest booking a pool view room which will have a much lower noise level.

I did enjoy the fact that the hotel had bikes available for car-free Sunday on Jln Sudirman.

The 25m pool is a bonus for lap swimming.

Big room but ageing. Clean and well maintained. Overall ok. Breakfast fantastic. Service is good. But staff not so fluent in English.
