Very disappointing experience at Grand Hyatt Jakarta.
I had a confirmed reservation made with World of Hyatt points under my own name, which had already been verified by the hotel prior to arrival. I arrived late that night around 10:00 PM with my valid identification and an infant, expecting a standard and smooth check-in.
Instead, I was asked to provide the identification of the person who transferred the points. This request was unreasonable and made little sense. The individual who transferred the points may not be immediately reachable, may not have their phone available, or may already be asleep—especially at that hour. This should not be an issue when the reservation has been confirmed under the guest’s own name from the beginning.
If there were concerns regarding the misuse of points, they should have been addressed through Hyatt’s internal systems, not by placing last-minute obstacles on legitimate guests at the front desk. If the reservation was considered questionable, it should not have been confirmed under my name in the first place.
To make matters worse, by 12:30 AM the person who transferred the points had finally woken up and had already sent their identification, yet by then it was completely pointless. The situation had dragged on far too long, and I had already decided to cancel the reservation due to how frustrating and disappointing the experience had been.
This was one of the most confusing and poorly handled check-in experiences I have ever encountered, and by far the strangest handling of loyalty points I have seen at any hotel. Very disappointing for a property of this caliber

I had a very disappointing experience with Hyatt Regency Jakarta after booking through Qantas.
Within five minutes of making the reservation, I noticed the dates were wrong and contacted Qantas straight away to request a simple date change. I specifically stated I was not seeking a refund.
The request was denied due to the booking being non-refundable. When I contacted the hotel directly, I was told there was no availability, despite the same room category being available online at the same price.
This situation showed a complete lack of flexibility, inconsistent communication, and poor guest service. Based on this experience, I would not recommend booking this hotel via third-party platforms.
Fantastic location, hospitality, services, and staff friendliness. Good for solo and family vacations. Attentive staffs to meet our requests while staying in the hotel.
The ambience was awesome - surrounded with lots of plants and comfy. The check-in and out processes were smooth. No musty smell at lobby and room.👍

My skin turned red and very itchy, some spots covered with bumps (see attached picture), maybe the bedsheets or bathrobe are dirty.
Dining experience at SUMIRE was also disaster. I have reserved private room and dessert platter with Wedding Anniversary messages but the staff did not even notice until I remind them before the payment.
The location is what I love the most. Near public transport and shopping center.
Lovely hotel with great amenities! AMAZING location for either business or leisure HIGHLY recommend the spa!
