Good value and convenient location
Pros:

Convenient location and beautiful old tree and patio.

Cons:

Didn’t like the metal bed frames—made loud sound if you accidentally bump into it, like kicking a metal shed. The breakfast is terrible, so just skip that and get something in town.

Return to Villa 1565
Pros:

Easy access to St Augustine city. Great that the Trolley bus stops by the Senator oak tree in the hotel grounds. Lovely breakfast, good variety of items to eat & drink. All staff were efficient and friendly. Great free parking.

Cons:

It was a shame about the pool being freezing cold!

Clean, great location and breakfast is a bonus
Pros:

The rooms are always clean. Staff are friendly and always helpful. Breakfast is a bonus, it's not bad. I just eat the eggs and toast. My friends came with me. Their first time at this location and they enjoyed it also.

Great location and desk clerk, Joanna, but poor room quality.

Cons:

The EXTREMELY loud air conditioner.
The four small pillows were all but flat. Stacking all the pillows barely made a comfortable pillow.
No night light in the bathroom or toilet closet. The last day/night of our stay the room became so muggy our clothes and paper travel information became damp.

Close to everything. Friendly staff. Room was clean when we arrived. We only had trouble with the shower curtain.

Cons:

The only complaint I had was that the shower curtain was so thin that the water sprayed all over the floor and made the restroom very wet, and then it being Florida with it’s humidity it got all stinky and mildew/mold etc. I did mention this to the front desk and they apologized and said it would get taken care of. They probably need better ventilation and of cause a obetter shower curtain. However everything else was great.

Our Honeymoon
Pros:

The lady at the check in desk had her son with her which was a little off putting. Our room experienced some issues with the toilet and I was simply given a plunger...no one came to see what the issue was or if it had been resolved. I paid $85 extra for the Chocolate covered Strawberries and Champagne package. The Champagne was terrible and the strawberries were watery. The card said Happy Anniversary, but we were there to celebrate our Marriage...we had just gotten married that day. Also, the couches in the room were very uncomfortable and we didn't have hot water on the last night of our stay. The outdoor sitting area was place to unwind. Overall the stay was fine, but we will not be coming back.

Better staff....more comfortable couches...better maintenance of the property

Was an excellent stay for our visit
Pros:

Location was perfect - walking distance from downtown. (1 mile)
Breakfast was good.
Room was clean...but could use a little updating on furniture.
Overall a good experience for our visit.

Cons:

Didn't necessarily appreciate the trolleys going thru the parking lot of hotel by our rooms.

Furniture in room could use a little updating.
