Auténtico Hotel

I traveled to San José for three nights on business. I looked for a good hotel near where I would be holding my meetings. Among the options, I found this hotel, which seemed fine. When I stayed there, I found a hotel with remodeled rooms, simple but new, as were the mattresses, towels, etc. The service was very friendly, and the breakfast was delicious.

We stayed in two different rooms. One was massive and the junior suite was a bit tight. The condition of the room were good.

It was a nice, simple, clean hotel. Staff were friendly and helpful. The restaurant was great with lots of choices.

This is a great local hotel. Very clean, nicely decorated, and the staff are helpful and courteous. The restaurant is beautiful and the food was delicious. We liked this hotel much more than the American chain hotels we have stayed at in San Jose.

Pool was very cold

Really disappointing stay at this hotel in a Deluxe Double Room. While the property was suitably clean, the rooms and amenities were pretty basic, poorly designed or broken — I had been staying a hostels in San Jose that were 1/4 of the price of this place which were in a better condition. Bathroom was a wetroom with the shower the same level as the floor, so the water sprayed everywhere. Plug sockets were falling out of the wall and room felt like a cell.

The worst part was the staff. Rude at check-in, restaurant and management. I had made the mistake of booking this double room for one person on Expedia — it should have been for 2 but there was no difference in price on expedia, so I messaged the hotel in advance if they could amend. They tried to charge me extra when the second guest eventually arrived. I had a really frustrating conversation with the manager who was dressed in a hoodie and who couldn’t care less about the price on expedia or providing customer service.

Excellent customer service

Quite clean and functional. Good supply of hot water in the shower. Staff was friendly and professional, and quite accommodating as I had an early morning flight so they ordered for me a bag breakfast to eat at checkout.

Nice place to stay

The hotel is nice, staff wonderful. Restaurant is ok. It was very loud at night. Sounded like a nightclub was in building. And the bed was the HARDEST BED EVER. I woke constantly unable to get comfortable because felt like I was laying on a hard floor.

The staff here are helpful and nice. The pool area is great and the rooms are nice. This hotel is convenient to the airport and walkable to downtown San Jose.

Nice property with garden, pool, restaurant. Very short drive to local dining options and easy freeway access to the airport. Secure free parking just across the street 50 yards.

Rooms are quaint with good beds and nice hardwood floors. However, poorly lit rooms are smaller than average, shower water pressure is astonishingly low despite water flow to the faucet - plumbing issue. Bath towels are old.

Overall, good hotel, but these small details prevent from taking it up a notch.

PS - Is non-refundable, so if your plans change, must be willing to take the hit.

Convenient location near to downtown

Hotel Autentico was fine, The staff are very friendly and helpful. My room was very noisy and I asked to be moved which was taken care of nicely. The hotel is a little dated and I didn’t enjoy my dinner in the restaurant. It was overpriced and not very good. Overall, the hotel was ok for the price.
