5pm the steam in the pool room was no longer on. Called the front desk who said they can’t do anything about that.
The staff was wonderful and accommodating especially the guy in charge at the front desk that honestly was working on so many different things whenever I saw him that I was impressed. I forgot to get his name but he checked us in and out. We really liked him. He deserves accommodations for all the hard work he puts in!!! Just saying.
Location was great and close to my family in Delaware
We spent a week there and we were very pleased with our stay. My grandchildren and I enjoyed the indoor pool and the courtyard. Housekeeping really took care of us and we really appreciate them and the front desk staff. We all had a great time. Thank you

Love the area , it was close to everything to eat, as well as the mall. It was so busy the staff were very sweet and quick with everything you need service wise. The beds were comfortable. The rooms were very nice.
My shower was not cleaned. It had hair from the previous tenant and then the shower did have a rust in it

I got switched 4 times I had someone come to my window with a phone showing me a vagina none of the tvs worked and the manager never arrived for his or her shift so I could never tell anyone about this and they also never came in the am to relive him it was just a complete horrible experience never again

We recently stayed at Sonesta Select Newark Christiana Mall and unfortunately had a very disappointing experience.
From the moment we checked in, our room did not have hot water. We immediately notified the front desk, and maintenance attempted to “reset the water,” but the issue was never resolved. We were never proactively offered another room so we could shower or use basic amenities.
We went to bed hoping the issue would be fixed by morning. It wasn’t. After continued complaints and still no hot water, we ultimately had to leave and book another hotel.
When we spoke with the General Manager, Amy Klesaris, we were told we would only receive a half refund. Considering we were unable to use a fundamental amenity like hot water, that is unacceptable. The interaction itself was equally disappointing — there was no introduction, no apology, and no effort to de-escalate or show concern for our experience. We were repeatedly told we would not receive a full refund and were eventually told to leave.
We have stayed at this property before and have previously overlooked issues because we understand that things can happen. However, the lack of professionalism and customer care in this situation was extremely concerning.
Hot water is not a luxury — it’s a basic expectation. We hope management reconsiders how situations like this are handled in the future.
