Design and comfort
Nothing
Staypineapple Hotel FIVE has plenty of personality, but style doesn't make up for the lack of basic conveniences.
The every-other-day housekeeping policy was disappointing, and even simple necessities such as fresh towels and conditioner, soap, and shampoo refills had to be requested. The room had no refrigerator, minimal sink space, and the signature single-duvet bedding system wasn't particularly practical or comfortable. Some people may love it, but I wasn't a fan and did not sleep well with the setup.
The ice situation was another frustration. Instead of a traditional ice machine, guests are provided baggies of ice that had melted together into large blocks while sitting in a storage cooler, making them inconvenient for everyday use.
Our room felt small, and broken blinds left it darker than it should have been. While the hotel leans heavily into its quirky branding—with "I'm Naked" do-not-disturb signs and stuffed dogs available for purchase—those gimmicks don't compensate for the missing basics that many travelers expect.
The location is convenient, although prospective guests should be aware that the Seattle Monorail runs immediately adjacent to the hotel. Combined with regular street noise, it does not make for a peaceful night's sleep if your room overlooks 5th Avenue.
One perk advertised by the hotel is a complimentary beverage voucher. However, whether you stay for one night or six nights, you receive the same single free drink. Considering the room rates, it would be a more meaningful gesture to provide additional beverage vouchers for longer stays.
At nearly $2,000 for a six-night stay, plus an additional $42 per night for parking, the overall value simply isn't there. The playful theme is memorable, but the experience prioritizes kitsch over comfort and functionality. Unfortunately, we will not be returning.
We left for breakfast
Larger beds would be nice and something to put my suitcase on.
