Pros:

The Empire Hotel has seen better days. Our room was shabby at best with banged up furniture, peeling paper, broken blinds and a non-existent heating system. I asked the front desk for a luggage rack twice on the day of arrival and it never appeared. Could not adjust the heat or air in the room. All it did was blow cold air. There were a couple of people at the front desk who were plesant, but on checkout, I was not asked about my stay. Super disappointed overall.

Great location for a Lincoln Center visit. The room with the full bed is teeny tiny, but the king superior was comfortable. The front desk has water, but there's no vending available.

Pros:

Room was very noisy with outside air conditioner noise all day and all night. Hot water worked but had to waist water for like 8 to 10 minutes before starting to get hot.

Pros:

It is a solid, safe, clean place to stay in a great location across from Lincoln Center. Staff are friendly, honest and responsive. Prospective guests should understand that it is an older building with some wear. Easy access to multiple subway stations and Central Park.

Upon arrival the staff were very pleasant and the lobby was very inviting. Also, the parking garage affiliated with the hotel was great with quick service. The room itself was ok and we had a similar experiences as others - the room had been updated at some point, but it was kind of beat up and there was visible mold in the room (on the ceiling above the bed, in areas where the wallpaper was peeling there was mold underneath, and on the bathroom door frame). I guess we did luck out since the ac and window blinds worked, which others have complained about. The area is wonderful which is a huge draw for this hotel but it’s unfortunate that it’s not maintained better. While my stay wasn’t terrible I probably wouldn’t take my chances at this hotel again.

Area is great.!!!!....No plastic bags to store anything ..very bare bones, but fine..Almost ready for renovations Put in room very close to the street,so a bit loud....Better than last time,when I was next to a boiler room...

Pros:

Wonderful location, great staff, felt safe, nice design.
Only complaint was the air conditioning (no matter what we set it at, it stayed 73 in the room).
But would definitely stay there again.
