No food. Shower was awful. Water ended up everywhere. Leak in sink too. Very functional hotel.
Very basic hotel, wifi was weak, very limited work space and no power socket by work top. Very convenient for local transport with metro five mins walk. Some great restaurants also 5 mins walk away
There was a suprise 18 euro extra charge of sheets and no receipt as printer was not working. tv did not work as cable was damaged and no spare cable available.
The entire property reeked of smoke. Even after leaving both windows wide open while I slept for 6 hours, I still woke up able to smell it. It was that bad. I checked out just 7 hours after I checked in. Was supposed to be a 3 day stay but wasn't going to put my health through that.
This hotel was a last minute choice and I was quite superised the front desk lady very helpful and polite this is an old building and the lift was very small My room was on the top floor 506 it's was a single room while small it was fine for one person had everything that was needed bed was comfortable room was clean had bar fridge TV hair dryer wardrobe heating no aircon but no need for this time of year the internet was not great at times but not a big issue The hotel has a lot of art work displayed in rooms and common areas of the hotel done by a local artist Breakfast was included for my booking and I found it to be a good start to the day 3 hit dishes and all the regular items and was being replenished as needed Location is great 10/15 min walk to station or city center with cafes and restaurants at your door for the price this great value
The room was very dirty and disgusting. After parking overnight on premise the door of our car was full of cigarette butts. Would never come back again.
Good points:
Very good will of the (English speaking) manager
Good, central location
Reasonable breakfast
CON:
Unreasonable price of >300EU/Night (indeed during a big fare in Dusseldorf, but still...) for a mid-tier hotel.
Missing points:
Non-English speaking receptionist
Room not clean (old socks of former guests, ear swabs)
Awful "view" of emergency stairs and the next room
Bed too large for the room dimension can hardly maneuver around it
No reading/night light next to bed
Too small WC
Bathroom curtain too short
No ironing board
Misfunctioning mini-refrigerator (and yet empty) had to disconnect it from power supply.
Horrible hotel, very old never been renovated, I booked 18m2 room but I got a tiny room which is hardly 12m2, location is central but it dosent worth it, its dirty, and stinking, on the website they are welcoming dogs, when I arrived they ask for more money for the dog although it's not mentioned on the website,
This hotel is the worst hotel , I ever stay not only that the staff didn't welcome us properly, the bathroom was dirty smell that was a mice , couldn't sleep, if I paid 20 $ ok but for what I paid I feed rob , I ask to get my money back!!!
Convenient location. Room was not ready on time
Good safe place for cycles,.near main shops and facilities, excellent breskfast.
This. Hotel is not clean it's old the room we were given was 6 flights up into the gods with no lift the lift only services the other part off hotel the room we were in the best thing was the bathroom and even here you couldn't swing a cat very small this shouldn't be a twin room as the beds are squeezed in and the only windows can't be opened so you rely on roof light no air-conditioning no windows as such top floor like a sauna carpet on steps need a clean or replacing tryed to over charge for carpark not successful breakfast is basic
The room has almost no internet wifi signals. I demand a refund and I will leave right now.
The new room offered only improves a little bit on internet connection. It still drops off every 10 or 15 mins.It is insane that I would have to endure such low standard of service for 3 more days!
I have to go through so many stressful negotiations with them and they still insist me to stay.
This is completely unacceptable as I agree to pay for first night.
Please propose to hotel I want to check out now given internet service below standard.
And the front desk lied about the guest being satisfied. And asked me to email hotel management directly cos they are only employees.
Agoda needs to step up to assist
A great location only a few minutes walk from the train station and not much more to the cafes and bars. Breakfast was varied, fresh and very good to be included in the price. A decent cup of coffee. The single room wasn't massive but it was clean and comfortable and the shower was excellent. Nice toiletries which were replaced. Overall, great value for money and would recommend for solo travellers like me.
Stayed for an expo at the Messe. All hotel prices inflated and not a true reflection on a basic hotel. Good breakfast. Close to transport.
Turn left out of the entrance and a typical pub serving food.
For me the hotel was perfect; convenient, clean and quaintly comfortable. The partying folks and drunks that hung out around the hotel or or guest, resulted in a lot of hoopla all night.
Room was small but functional. Bed was comfortable and the curtains did their job properly. Some TV noise from the next room could be heard but it was not too bad. No complaints with the en suite while the furniture was a little dated. The back of one cupboard was missing but other than that the maintenance was up to date. The staff were friendly and helpful although limited English was spoken (a good thing if like me you want to try out your beginners' tourist German). Breakfast was basic but ok and the front of house waitress was a bit run off her feet. Convenient location for city centre and main railway station. Overall, tremendously good value. Would stay again.
Increased rate on the Wednesday made this an expensive two night stay......
Very well placed: the subway for Altstadt and Fair is at three minutes walk, Schumacher Brewery is at two steps. Helpful and kind staff (except a night porter). But rooms are very ugly and little (absolutely needs to be renewed), the bathroom is too tiny and the showers old (some with the unbearable plastic curtain). Cannot open the window of the rooms on the inner court cause emergency staircase is like a second entrance to the room. Some problem with the stench of smoke and hope to be lucky with quiet neighbors because the walls are badly soundproofed. Vote for breakfast is just enough. Even considering the Fair period the price is absolutely excessive!
Great position, walk to Aldstad, close to subway/underground. Lots of places to eat. Hotel reasonable- but very expensive during large events. Rooms small- good enough to sleep. Fantastic breakfast- simple but more than good enough
