Several employees at this boutique hotel left memorable impressions. The person who brought us a glass of water at check-in. He also took care of our bags right away. The other person took our order for drinks while at the family pool and brought them to us. He was very friendly and customer service oriented. While we didn’t get to use the spa services, the gentleman at the front desk of the spa was very helpful when answering my questions. I really appreciated the friendliness from all three individuals. Loved it. The gym was on point too. You even had stretch bands! Overall, very cute hotel. Great location. Good food. Friendly staff."
Bryan, a server at the pools, was really responsive and friendly. But frankly all of the staff was wonderful and friendly and helpful. All of the front desk staff was super helpful in helping us resolve our final night stay so my daughters could stay in their separate room. I especially liked Lynne who is so friendly and enthusiastic in her job. But again, everyone was courteous and professional. Pools were clean and service was great. The Caesar salad with chicken, açaí bowl, avocado toast, waffle fries were our favorites.
"Lynne at the front desk is amazing!! She was so helpful and readily available to guide us with reservations for the best rooms for our needs before we got there as well as recommendations for dining and places to go once we arrived. Lynne was so kind ; she went above and beyond and we so appreciated her!! All your staff are excellent. But Lynne at the front desk was particularly fabulous! She really personalized our experience from reservations to recommendations for dining and things to do. She is warm and wonderful and a real asset to the Avalon!"
Jocelyn and Candice made our stays incredible!! It was my second time seeing Jocelyn (I met her during our last Avalon stay) and it felt like my partner and I were reuniting with a friend by the pool. Jocelyn is so warm, authentic, and funny - she truly made our stay exceptional. Candice also played a huge role in elevating our stay. There was an upgrade available for our room and she automatically placed us into the suite. We’re very grateful to Candice for providing that experience! The housekeepers were also incredibly polite and friendly. Every time one passed by, they would smile and say “good morning".
Starting with James at the front desk, he is so kind and helpful. Jocelyn and Brian at the pool are amazing and always make me feel at home. John (bartender) and Fabian at Chi Chi were great as well! Love this place.
The Avalon hotel is a hidden gem, a true oasis, paradise in the desert. We’ve been coming every year and couldn’t be more delighted to come back each time. The staff is super friendly and always responds to our special requests (we often ask to stay in the same room, check in early and check out late). They always make it happen for us. This is my favorite hotel on the planet. Best food, best service, best ambiance. 10 stars. LOVE.
This was our second stay at the Avalon, and we will definitely return. The location, amenities, and staff are all excellent. It’s just a short walk to everything on Palm Canyon Drive. All of the staff were friendly and did a fantastic job, especially Bryan, who managed the poolside food and beverage service. It’s the perfect place for a couple’s weekend at a classic Palm Springs hotel!
I brought a business team meeting to the hotel for a buyout. Abbie Nienkamp was amazing to work with! She went the extra mile to make sure our meeting went well. Even helped us haul our supplies around the property to set up for our games. I loved working with her and all of the staff at the hotel. Everyone took good care of us, positive attitudes and friendly service.
Lynn at the Front Desk helped to make our trip memorable. Our interactions were exceptional. Everyone of the F&B staff were thoughtful, friendly and engaging. Great team! This was a memorable stay. We will recommend you!
Very quiet and laid back property. You can envision movie stars back in the day staying here. The staff was wonderful. Very kind and accommodating. Everything within walking distance. I will definitely be staying here again!
We have stayed at the property several times. In each case, we have had a spacious and well-appointed bungalow with a fireplace. We love having the extra space of a bungalow. During our latest stay, all employees were cheerful and helpful and acted like they wanted to be there and to have happy guests at the hotel. Food at the hotel was excellent - one of the reasons that we stay at the hotel. Service also was excellent. Room service was fast and friendly, and the food was great. Again, the food service, including room service, is one of the reasons that we stay at the hotel. There also are three pools, and since we like to get some sun on holiday, it helps to have several pools. If I have a complaint, it’s minor: Do not count on receiving an early check-in. In each visit, we’ve had to wait until the normal check-in time. This was not a problem for us. We had a nice lunch and then relaxed on lounge chairs by the pool. But I’d plan for checking in at the normal time. Lastly, the location is good - in the so-called Historic Tennis Club neighborhood - pretty, safe, and within walking distance of many sights and services in the center of town.
We are huge fans of the Avalon, this is our favorite place to stay in the area. We hosted our wedding here two years ago and continue to have such a wonderful experience every time we go back. The staff is wonderful, the rooms are spacious, the food is delicious, the pools are perfect, and we love that the Avalon is pet-friendly.
If you’re looking for the classic Palm Springs experience, look for further than The Avalon.
We stayed in Room 103, which is a 1 bedroom bungalow (worth it). The pool was right out side. The pool attendant was fantastic and very attentive. Our room host was also very good with housekeeping. Our bartender in the bar on Friday night was very engaging and pleasant. The sauna, cold plunge, and hot tub were excellent. We had a fantastic time. Will recommend to our people. Awesome.
Don’t hesitate to make this hotel your Palm Springs destination.
This property looks charming on its website and in person. But appearances can be deceiving. We booked five nights in a Regency room and we’re pretty sure we got the hotel’s worst room -- (avoid room 301). I regret not upgrading. We had no views. Just outside our room, busy housekeepers were stationed, with tools in the hallway 24/7. (Not their fault - just unfortunate placement of vacuum and linen closet. Staff were kind.)
Anyway - that room was not worth the $500/nt.
The restaurant Chi Chi served a decent but modest breakfast selection. The grounds were pretty and well maintained, maybe a touch tired.
First time staying here and will definitely return. The 1-bedroom bungalow had everything you needed, living room, full kitchen and outdoor patio. The property is small and easy to make your way from the different pools and the lobby. The lobby had a great bar and great service. They set us up by the pool with Rosé and cocktails and it made the experience a lot of fun. Housekeeping was on it and never came back to an un-made room.
Solid experience and will definitely re-visit the Avalon again.
This is the best hotel i’ve ever stayed at. The staff and service at this hotel is so amazing. Every single one of them was so kind and hardworking. If I could give the staff here 10/5 stars I would, they seriously made the experience as amazing as it was. The scenery was gorgeous and everywhere was so clean, especially our room. Also the food at the restaurant there was exceptional just absolute 10/10. We were here for about 3 days and we only ate outside the hotel once. It was about a 10-15 minute walk to the strip so not bad at all. Overall amazing vibes and we will definitely be back!
Everyone was very nice. We used hot tub at Avalon and sat at pool/used pool and F&B service at Ingleside. Very nice waitstaff. Really enjoyable setting - relaxing, low key and beautiful. We stayed at Ritz last time on vacation and your experience is far superior. "
Exceptional customer service with all interactions! Great boutique retro hotel. Thanks again
