Kauai Shores Hotel

KSH is our location of choice anytime we are on the island. This was our 3rd trip to Kauai in the past 4 years and the experience at KSH has continued to impress us. The grounds are magical with the beach steps away, a pool, grassy areas to play with the kids, games and a wonderful restaurant (shoutout to Lava Lava Beach Club). The location is central to the island so getting to one side or the other is fairly easy and convenient. The hotel is adjacent to a shopping center that has a little market (which is useful), JoJo’s shaved ice and good eats. The staff is wonderful as well! Note that parking can be a challenge in the evenings as many folks come to visit the restaurant for dinner, but the hotel offers free valet services to guest. KSH has truly become a home away from home for us!

We spent five nights at Kauai Shores and were very pleased with its excellent location and cheerful atmosphere. Our room was clean, and the staff at the front lobby were friendly, professional, and informative. We especially appreciated the complimentary bike rentals and the free valet parking, which helped address the limited parking situation. Overall, it was a pleasant stay, and we would gladly recommend Kauai Shores to friends and family.

This is my third time returning to Kauai Shores and each time it’s amazing! It’s the perfect location to explore Kappa, the north shore of Kauai and head down to the Napali Coast and Waimea Canyon. The property is beautiful, well kept and right on the water. It is reasonably priced for Kauai and great for people of all ages. We love going to the Lava Lava beach club for food, drinks and live music in the evenings. We will be back! 🌴🌈

GREAT ! The central location, the staff, the valet parking, the access to the beach, Lava-Lava Beach Club. You can get to the North shore or the South Shore in an hour or less. Restaurants, close. Coconut Marketplace with Island Markets, incidentally a good place to grab lunch or deli stuff for a picnic, drinks-including alcohol. AM Yoga. Bicycles. Very responsive staff if you have questions or concerns. Win! Win! Win! Not one negative thing about Kauai Shores.

Very affordable location, has two pools, beachfront location, and room was nice and clean.

Cockroaches appeared in our room, and from the moment we first entered it, the floor was clearly not clean. There was dirt and crumbs on the carpet, making it obvious that housekeeping had not properly cleaned either the floor or the carpet.
The reception staff showed a completely careless attitude after we reported the cockroaches and requested a thorough cleaning. The receptionist noted our request, but when we returned to the room, everything was in exactly the same unacceptable condition.
After we were moved to a new (and slightly cleaner) room, another cockroach appeared on the wall within an hour. We immediately reported it to the reception, and we were offered a waiver of the resort fee (a total of $150). In our opinion, the hotel is not dealing with its cockroach problem appropriately, especially considering that it presents itself as a luxury resort charging $328 per night for a room.
Our overall impression of the reception staff was that we were bothering them—even during check-in. They seemed more focused on other guests and answering phone calls than assisting us. We also requested written confirmation of the promised refund, but we never received it. Only after following up through Booking.com were we finally granted a partial refund for our stay.
The poor standard of housekeeping was further demonstrated when we requested a refill of the body lotion. We even left the empty bottle with a note on the bathroom sink, yet it was not replaced or refilled. In our opinion, this is something that should be checked and replenished automatically, without guests having to ask for it.
The resort also offers only a limited number of parking spaces, which are quickly occupied by hotel and restaurant guests. Valet parking is available, but our car was returned with a scratch along the side. Once again, the staff handled the situation with a very lukewarm attitude. One employee assured us that the manager would contact us, but to this day, no one has reached out.
We definitely cannot recommend this hotel. Unless you want to spend your vacation dealing with an unhelpful and unprofessional reception staff, wasting valuable time and unnecessary energy instead of enjoying this beautiful island, it is best to stay elsewhere.

We liked the location, we liked the beach, we liked the room. We asked for an early check-in and they were unable to accommodate us. We arrived early anyway with the intention of dropping off our items and wandering around the town. We were pleasantly surprised when they were able to arrange an early check-in for us so that my family could get settled. It was a huge bonus. They took a lot of time and effort to make sure we were cared for. We ended up with a unit that contained a mini kitchenette. So helpful when needing to leave early and eat breakfast before the restaurant opens. Also, a lot of fun photo ops.. swings, signs, colorful backgrounds. Great opportunity for some memorable photos.

Perfect stay, location, Lava Lava Beach club eats/drinks and topped it off with free bikes for us to ride around Kapa’a.

The access to the beach is really convenient. The room is spacious and decorated in a modern style. The free valley parking is a nice compliment as a parking lot gets busy at times.

We had a magnificent 8 days at Kauai Shores Hotel. Many thanks for the wonder filled experience.

L’hotel è molto carino, ben tenuto e curato, un gioiellino in cui si trovano tutte le comodità. Le stanze sono state recentemente ristrutturate e personalmente ci siamo trovati molto bene, nonostante avessimo scelto la stanza senza vista oceano o giardino. Affacciavamo infatti sul cortile interno delle macchine, ma non è stato per noi un disturbo. Le stanze sono grandi, pulite e moderne. La piscina e la spiaggia privata rendono l’esperienza molto comoda. Inoltre e presente il locale Lava Lava Beach Club all’interno dell’hotel (aperto anche a clienti esterni all’albergo), che è un ottimo valore aggiunto sulla comodità.

The property is so nice and clean…just steps from the ocean. Everything is thoughtfully decorated and beautiful. My daughter especially loved the Photo Booth in the lobby. There were many picturesque spots perfect for posting! The staff was courteous and friendly. This is the best value for your money on the island, and the location can’t be beat. The rooms were clean and updated. We loved our stay and will be back in the future!

The staff at Kauai Shores is excellent. From the front desk: Novelle, Chevy and Angela to the maintence guy-Robertino (showed us how to use our tv to watch World Cup) to Peter who keeps the grounds pristine and beautiful. They take pride in ensuring the visitors are comfortable and have what they need. The Lava Lava bartenders are very friendly and overall the place is centrally located, offer free bikes (the bike path is amazing and along the ocean) and they offer free valet parking. There is absolutely no reason to stay anywhere else. We enjoyed our 25th anniversary week long vacation at Kauai Shores.

We really enjoyed this hotel! Great location, super clean, updated rooms, free parking, on the beach, Would stay here again! Only downside is that parking fills up quickly so you have to valet. Valet is free but you need to tip.

Such a great location, clean, comfortable and chill. We would definitely stay here again.

This resort was very clean, fun and the staff was very friendly and helpful.
