Kauai Shores Hotel

Great hotel with a nice pool and adjacent seashore.
Our newly renovated room with 2 queen beds was large and comfortable.
The “Coconut Marketplace” is located right next door with several shops, restaurants and a large grocery store, which is very convenient.

Le camere vista oceano sono assolutamente da preferire. Il ristorante annesso è pure pregevole per ubicazione e qualità delle pietanze

My Ohana and I rented a few kitchenette rooms to celebrate my sister’s birthday and my nephew’s 2nd birthday, and we had an amazing time! 🎉

From the moment we arrived, all of the employees were so friendly, welcoming, and helpful. The property itself was absolutely beautiful—the grounds were well-maintained, tropical, and the perfect place to relax and enjoy quality time with Ohana.

The kitchenette was stocked with everything we needed, making it easy to cook breakfast and lunch together.

One evening, we had dinner at Lava Lava Beach Club, and it was delicious! The service was excellent, and the food was so ono. We also loved the lawn games—they were fun for both the kids and adults, and ending the evening around the fire pit made it even more special.

Overall, we had a wonderful experience and made so many unforgettable memories celebrating together. We highly recommend staying here and can’t wait to come back for another staycation!🌺🌴

I absolutely loved my stay at the beautiful Kauai Shores Hotel! I stayed in a kitchenette and appreciated all of the amenities that came with the room, especially because access to the pool was only steps away, so lovely! The room was super spacious, very clean and had ice cold AC, which is perfect for the hot July weather. The property grounds are very well maintained and so beautiful! Kauai Shores Hotel truly makes the stay feel warm & welcoming, prefect Ohana vibes! Me and my Ohana love staying at this hotel year after year. Of course, we enjoyed food & drinks at the hotel restaurant, Lava Lava Beach Club, a must! Love the location as we are right next to coconut market place which holds a variety of stores & shops as well as the ocean which has a beautiful sunrise to start your mornings! So many memories made at this hotel and can’t wait to make more! Mahalo Kauai Shotes Hotel, I’ll definitely be back!

My family and I recently had the most amazing staycation at Kauai Shores, and I can’t say enough great things about our experience!

From the moment we arrived, every staff member made us feel welcomed and valued. A huge mahalo to the front desk team, maintenance staff, grounds crew, and housekeeping. Every single person went above and beyond to make sure our stay was comfortable and enjoyable. Their kindness, professionalism, and attention to detail truly made a difference.

The newly renovated rooms are absolutely beautiful—modern, spacious, clean, and very comfortable. You can really see the care and effort that has gone into updating the property. The grounds are also well maintained and create such a relaxing island atmosphere.

Thank you to the entire Kauai Shores team for making our staycation one to remember. We left feeling refreshed and already can’t wait to come back. Highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Kauai or even locals looking for the perfect staycation!

This hotel is great for families with children. The pool areas, lawn and beach are all friendly for kids, and we experienced a festive atmosphere in the evenings there.

Excellent hotel with beautiful rooms and grounds. Especially loved the free valet service. This is a perfect hotel for families. Awesome location and wonderful staff. We stayed there 9 times in the past 2 years!!!

Kauai Shores proved to be a great choice for my wife and me. We're not big, posh resort people and Kauai Shores was the perfect setting in a central location on Kauai. We found the hotel to be comfortable and updated with spacious rooms, a beautiful shoreline, and very good restaurant right on the beach. We experienced attentive staff and well tended grounds. One of the things we really liked is the central location on the east shore. Kapa'a is halfway to everything including Hanalei and Princeville (north) and/or Poipu (south) and only 6 miles from the airport. The Coconut Marketplace right next door proved to be very handy for shopping, meals and groceries and since we had a room with a kitchenette, we appreciated the twice weekly Farmers Market. Since the hotel is located on the east shore, there were breath taking sunrises every morning. A bicycle path is adjacent to the hotel and Kauai Shores has a number of bikes available to check out. On return trips, Kauai Shores will again be our home away from home.

First room that was most expensive ( one with kitchenette) was not worth the cost. Door had huge gaps that let out the AC. And situated next to the sanitation plant. Not what one would expect for a room of that cost. We downgraded rooms and the room was as we expected for the visit. Overall experience was great. Receptionists varied in quality. My son and I had same rooms with same notes. He experienced great support and was given a very good welcome. My wife and I were barely acknowledged by the girl helping us and were not offered the same things my son was. Our room packages were the exact same. Receptionist Chevy was the best!!!

The waitresses at the Lava Lava beach club were amazing along with the food. Our room was comfortable and clean. The hospitality was definitely a 10 out of 10. We will be back soon.

KSH is our location of choice anytime we are on the island. This was our 3rd trip to Kauai in the past 4 years and the experience at KSH has continued to impress us. The grounds are magical with the beach steps away, a pool, grassy areas to play with the kids, games and a wonderful restaurant (shoutout to Lava Lava Beach Club). The location is central to the island so getting to one side or the other is fairly easy and convenient. The hotel is adjacent to a shopping center that has a little market (which is useful), JoJo’s shaved ice and good eats. The staff is wonderful as well! Note that parking can be a challenge in the evenings as many folks come to visit the restaurant for dinner, but the hotel offers free valet services to guest. KSH has truly become a home away from home for us!

We spent five nights at Kauai Shores and were very pleased with its excellent location and cheerful atmosphere. Our room was clean, and the staff at the front lobby were friendly, professional, and informative. We especially appreciated the complimentary bike rentals and the free valet parking, which helped address the limited parking situation. Overall, it was a pleasant stay, and we would gladly recommend Kauai Shores to friends and family.

This is my third time returning to Kauai Shores and each time it’s amazing! It’s the perfect location to explore Kappa, the north shore of Kauai and head down to the Napali Coast and Waimea Canyon. The property is beautiful, well kept and right on the water. It is reasonably priced for Kauai and great for people of all ages. We love going to the Lava Lava beach club for food, drinks and live music in the evenings. We will be back! 🌴🌈

GREAT ! The central location, the staff, the valet parking, the access to the beach, Lava-Lava Beach Club. You can get to the North shore or the South Shore in an hour or less. Restaurants, close. Coconut Marketplace with Island Markets, incidentally a good place to grab lunch or deli stuff for a picnic, drinks-including alcohol. AM Yoga. Bicycles. Very responsive staff if you have questions or concerns. Win! Win! Win! Not one negative thing about Kauai Shores.

Very affordable location, has two pools, beachfront location, and room was nice and clean.

Cockroaches appeared in our room, and from the moment we first entered it, the floor was clearly not clean. There was dirt and crumbs on the carpet, making it obvious that housekeeping had not properly cleaned either the floor or the carpet.
The reception staff showed a completely careless attitude after we reported the cockroaches and requested a thorough cleaning. The receptionist noted our request, but when we returned to the room, everything was in exactly the same unacceptable condition.
After we were moved to a new (and slightly cleaner) room, another cockroach appeared on the wall within an hour. We immediately reported it to the reception, and we were offered a waiver of the resort fee (a total of $150). In our opinion, the hotel is not dealing with its cockroach problem appropriately, especially considering that it presents itself as a luxury resort charging $328 per night for a room.
Our overall impression of the reception staff was that we were bothering them—even during check-in. They seemed more focused on other guests and answering phone calls than assisting us. We also requested written confirmation of the promised refund, but we never received it. Only after following up through Booking.com were we finally granted a partial refund for our stay.
The poor standard of housekeeping was further demonstrated when we requested a refill of the body lotion. We even left the empty bottle with a note on the bathroom sink, yet it was not replaced or refilled. In our opinion, this is something that should be checked and replenished automatically, without guests having to ask for it.
The resort also offers only a limited number of parking spaces, which are quickly occupied by hotel and restaurant guests. Valet parking is available, but our car was returned with a scratch along the side. Once again, the staff handled the situation with a very lukewarm attitude. One employee assured us that the manager would contact us, but to this day, no one has reached out.
We definitely cannot recommend this hotel. Unless you want to spend your vacation dealing with an unhelpful and unprofessional reception staff, wasting valuable time and unnecessary energy instead of enjoying this beautiful island, it is best to stay elsewhere.
