Kauai Shores Hotel

Kauai Shores was a very cute place. We were coming to Kauai and wanted to stay on the East side. We had reservations from a couple reviews knowing the hotel had been remodeled. But we were pleasantly surprised, the atmosphere was cute, clean, and the staff was very friendly. One night we came back and there were no self parking spots open, so we drove up to valet and they parked it no issue. This was extremely nice. Roof repairs are going on at the moment but they were during the day and ended early so they didn’t ruin any ambiance really. Lava Lava Beach Club was delicious also. We would definitely stay here again! Nice little hidden gem.

We were a grandmother and 30 year old granddaughter, different generations delighting in the 70s vibe. Our accommodations were top notch and relaxing by oceans edge was sublime. We ate most meals at restaurant as we decided after first one, we wouldn't find better food. Would recommend an excellent Thai, Myanmar. Beds were comfortable. All seemed recently updated. Landscaping was beautiful and enjoyed music in late afternoon.

We had a great stay at the Kauai Shores hotel. Everyone is super friendly, the rooms very clean, filtered water dispensers were wonderful, ice machines, and the proximity to restaurants and shopping. We didn't want to leave and we hope to return!

Internal is newer renovation and clean. Parking is easy and convenient!

This was our second stay at Kauai Shores, we visited October 2025 and came back May 2026 and loved it again! We like the location with great variety of restaurants nearby (recommend Naisla!) and find it easy to visit south shore or north shore. The room is great and we love the small kitchenette for early breakfast before heading out on adventures. The free hotel bikes are fun - nice trails along the coast! The beach is quiet and we could always get pool chairs or beach chairs too - also took advantage of the free beach yoga in the mornings. Since we booked with Expedia we ended up getting a free room upgrade and bottle of wine during check in too!

Lovely modern trendy hotel, had a bit of a vibe in the evenings with all the fairy lights on and everyone in the jacuzzi. Inflatables at the pool which was good and we had it all to ourselves on several occasions- it’s very small though so just as well. Nice wristbands and refillable water bottles which we go to keep after. Lava lava beach club was really nice and good friendly service and lovely food right on the beach, but we only had breakfast there not dinner.
Shower was modern and usually got hot. Housekeeping didn’t come every day and was often very late in the day.

The location drew me to this hotel, close to the airport. Thought there were things to do close by but no. They do put 2 waters in the fridge. Cute family games in the late afternoon. Be aware you cannot put charges from the restaurant on your room so be sure to have a credit card. Also, cant take drinks out so cant drink at the pool or take to your room. The worst was the parking. Horrendous. Not enough parking. Construction blocking areas. Only one road for 2 way traffic to get to the valet, which is complimentary. People parking illegally and driving in the wrong direction. Water is pretty rough on this side and sand is rough. Didn't see any areas to rinse off going back up or at the resort. Lots of choices on the Island. The parking would keep me from coming back.

Location - in Kapaa , relatively easy to find ; I’d say the location is central

Staff - fake nice . They seemed nice on the surface ; but it’s all fake

Rooms - modern , small , glorified motel 6 essentially. Three aspects about the rooms I despised : there was a Very musty smell in my room when I first checked in . I discussed the issue with front desk and they ended up turning up the AC in my room to solve the problem. Secondly , the water pressure in the shower was very weak , and last but not least , there was no privacy in ground level rooms / if you want natural light into room , you have to leave curtains open and all people walking by outside have full views to your room.

Parking - a nightmare ; small parking lot for a huge motel .

Check in experience- unacceptable. Check in was at 4 pm; my room was still not ready by 4:30 pm . All I heard was : I’m sorry . Every other hotel would have offered some kind of good will gesture

The worst $300 hotel I’ve ever stayed at

The Hilton garden inn nearby is not glamorous, but st least I never had the above issues staying there .

Avoid Kauai shores hotel at all costs costs

Location is great and staff friendly. Cleanliness of facilities was excellent. Beach restaurant is great food.

Our room was spacious, and we selected the room with the kitchenette which includes a mini refrigerator and microwave. Staff was very friendly and helpful. It was nice to have 2 pools and Lae Nani Beach is in your backyard. Lava Lava Club restaurant is on sight had many good food options. There is also a fun photo booth where 2-3 people can take pictures at no cost. Coconut Marketplace including ABC Market is conveniently located next door. We enjoyed our stay despite the rainy weather in mid-February.

Kauai Shores is now our favourite hotel in Hawai'i! Great location, quiet beach, good cocktails and family games. It's so quiet at night; we all slept very well. Very clean. Stunning grounds, especially the orchids. The best part is the staff - all so friendly and they treat you with kindness.

The renovated rooms are beautiful and the entire property is clean and well maintained. The staff are friendly and helpful. The Lava Lava food is delicious. It is in walking distance to stores and restaurants. Best of all - it is right on the ocean.
