EVERYTHING! From the time we arrived to the moment we left the staff, food, drinks and our room were just amazing! The pool and pool service was fabulous! This made our stay to attend the Rod Stewart Concert at Hollywood Bowl unforgettable!

This hotel is so lovely, great location. Take the hike up the nearby canon. Must spend time at the pool and Shirley bar is so fun and great food. Gorgeous hotel.

The lication is perfect, the building is beautiful, the pool is fantastic with great bar and staff is very helpful

I hate leaving a bad review for a hotel that I actually like. Unfortunately, this particular stay has been a significant disappointment.

I traveled here for business meetings and intentionally planned to host clients at the hotel because the lobby and pool areas provide such a great environment for informal meetings. At no point before arrival was I informed that the lobby would be closed during my stay. I only learned about it at check-in, at which time I was encouraged to use the Tropicana Café by the pool instead. Everything else on the property was unavailable: the bars, restaurant, the historic lobby etc.

Based on the recommendation from the front desk that the pool bar and seating area was open, I moved my meetings there. However, when my clients arrived, we were informed that the pool area and Tropicana Café were closed for a production shoot. This left me scrambling for alternatives in front of my clients and created a very embarrassing situation.

My frustration is less about the closures themselves and more about the lack of communication and the fact that the staff was quite dismissive of my concerns. I got the usual “we apologize for the inconvenience but you should have known” Just wow. To add insult to injury, I was charged a daily “amenity fee” even though the amenities were not available.

The hotel has two opportunities to communicate these closures: prior to arrival and at check in. They failed on both accounts. Had I known in advance that both the lobby and pool areas would be unavailable, I would have simply made other arrangements before arriving.

It’s too bad that a place I like left me with such a bad impression that I likely will not return.

My partner and I stayed at the Hollywood Roosevelt in August 2025, and we honestly couldn't fault it. From the moment we arrived, the hotel exceeded our expectations. The building itself is stunning and has that iconic LA glamour and atmosphere that makes you feel like you're truly experiencing Hollywood.
We stayed in a Cabana Room, which was beautifully decorated and the perfect size for two people. The staff were incredibly welcoming and attentive throughout our stay, always happy to help with anything we needed.
My partner is a personal trainer and made good use of the gym facilities. He was really impressed with the quality of the equipment, which says a lot as he knows what to look for in a gym. The staff also went above and beyond on his birthday by bringing him a birthday cookie and singing Happy Birthday, which was such a thoughtful touch and made his day extra special.
During our stay, the air conditioning in our room stopped working. However, the hotel dealt with the issue immediately and upgraded us to a Cabana Room with a poolside view at no extra cost. The upgraded room was absolutely beautiful, and we were extremely grateful for how quickly and professionally the situation was handled.
The pool area is one of the highlights of the hotel. The atmosphere is incredible – everyone is relaxed, having fun, and enjoying themselves. The hotel regularly hosts pool parties, which added to the vibrant LA experience. One evening, they even set up a large projector by the pool and screened a movie under the stars. It genuinely felt like something straight out of a film and was one of our favourite memories from the trip.
The location is also fantastic. It's right on Hollywood Boulevard, making it easy to explore all the nearby attractions, yet we were pleasantly surprised by how quiet our room was.
We loved our stay so much that we've already booked to come back. If you're looking for a hotel that combines luxury, history, fantastic service, and an authentic Hollywood atmosphere, the Hollywood Roosevelt is the perfect choice.
