Front desk staff with no smile must upgrade themselves at customer relations.
Beds are comfy and rooms are clean but needs quite detailed renovation at bathrooms.
Breakfast is very standard & with limited options.

I had a pleasant stay at Mercure Marseille Centre Vieux Port. The hotel is large and very conveniently located, just about a 10-minute walk from the train station and also around 10 minutes on foot from Le Panier, which makes it a great choice for exploring Marseille without needing transport.
The location is one of the hotel’s main strengths. Many of the city’s interesting areas are within easy reach, and there are plenty of cafés and restaurants nearby. I did not have breakfast at the hotel, as there are many other breakfast options in the area that are both more varied and more affordable.
The room was comfortable and had everything needed for a short city stay. It was practical, well arranged, and provided a pleasant space to relax after a day out in Marseille.
The hotel itself feels spacious and practical for a city stay. It also seems to have its own underground parking, which could be useful for guests arriving by car.
The immediate surroundings of the hotel felt a bit mixed. The area around the entrance was not the cleanest, and in the evenings several nearby cafés attract quite a lot of locals, which together with the general untidiness did not create the best impression.
