Perfect relaxat
Pros:

Loved the coziness of the hotel. It was exactly the sort of relaxing retreat from London that I was looking for. The breakfast and dinner menus are fantastic. Scottish Breakfast was amazing and we loved the braised and pulled lamb with rosti and red cabbage. How early delicious food cooked with care. Beds super comfortable and the staff welcoming and knowdlegeable.

Cons:

Not a bad word to say.

Very pleasant stay in beautiful surroundings, well looked after by friendly, relaxed staff.
Pros:

We were a party of 9 adults, 2 babies and a dog, with some complicated dietary needs which the staff coped with admirably. They went to a lot of trouble to help with this. The cooked breakfasts were delicious!

Cons:

Our bed could have been more solid - but we are 2 people averaging over 6' in height, so that is probably asking more than we could expect.

Traditional and peaceful accommodation overlooking Loch Alvie
Pros:

Traditional and charming accommodation with a long history and pleasant host. Set in a rural and peaceful location overlooking Loch Alvie. The best scrambled eggs we had on our trip to Scotland.
Short distance to Aviemore.

Cons:

A bit old-fashioned room, and narrow bed.

Pros:

Cute country hotel, cosy rooms, comfortable beds, breakfast included. Staff were friendly and even provided standing fans when requested and fixed the tv when there were issues.

Cons:

Our rooms had slanted ceilings and we hit our heads multiple times so beware. For breakfast: Scrambled eggs were very runny so could be improved and more vegetables / fresh fruits as part of the offering would be good, although the kitchen gave a larger portion of mushrooms when requested.

Good but a bit overpriced for what you get
Pros:

The location is amazing, next to the lake. Clean and helpful staff.

Cons:

Our room was too hot and you couldn’t even open the windows properly. The facilities are quite old and when the train passes you could feel the bed shacking. We also heard the person next door snoring. I think a bit overpriced overall.

A great hotel with good food and friendly staff.
Pros:

Food was really good and staff friendly.

Cons:

Close to railway line but this didn't bother us as the line is not really busy and, trains don't run through the night.

Pros:

Sehr freundliches Personal beim Frühstück. Ruhig zwischen 22 Uhr und 7 Uhr. Frühstück ok.

Cons:

Lovely hotel and stay
Pros:

Lovely hotel, staff (very pleasant and knowledgeable about things to do in the area, breakfast (lots of choice) and location. An in between base for Aviemore and the wildlife park at Kingussie, with Loch Insh right there.

Cons:

Only my own preference, but the bed was too soft for me and my partner. Depends what you like, but that was the only dislike and as I said my own preference.

Will return again
Pros:

The atmosphere of the place and the bed was wonderful. As with any travel to the UK in the summer, pack a sleeping mask if you need complete darkness to sleep. Very few hotels below 300 quid a night provide "blackout" curtains.

Cons:

There sincerely is nothing I didn't like
