Highly recommend
Can i give it 6 stars?
Great location, friendly warm welcome and exceptional food.
Being able to return from a day on the windswept rainy coast to a warm fire and a glass of wine and being able to sit in the early morning in the cactus filled sun lounge looking out at the water made this a magical and welcoming place to stay.
This hotel is a boutique hotel. Beautiful facility to sit and relax and enjoy the lovely view. The staff are very nice and attentive. The food excellent.
Lovely staff. Great place to stay.
The hotel itself was beautiful and the food was nice in the restaurant. But when the staff had done some mix ups they couldn’t even say sorry and try and make it up which was very odd and unfortunately made our experience less enjoyable. They did not have conditioner in the rooms for the hair which was very weird for trying to be a more high end hotel.
The people were lovely and the food was very good.
The Ardagh is a lovely family-run hotel just outside the main streets of Clifden. We were welcomed warmly by the desk staff, and given cake and milk upon arrival (yum!). Beyond our comfortable room, there were several other shared spaces to hang out, including an upstairs alcove with lush plants and a gorgeous view of the water. Breakfast was great as well. It is a great alternative to staying right in town - we were happy for the quiet!
We only stayed one evening, but thoroughly enjoyed it. We were greeted by a lovely woman at the front desk who offered us cakes upon our arrival. She also referred us to a nice place for dinner and music in town that evening.
It has a spectacular view of the water. Wonderful indoor spaces for relaxing, enjoying a fire, and socializing.
It is family owned and run, creating a sense of ease and familiarity.
Very close to beautiful beaches, and Clifden. As well as Connemara mountains.
I loved everything about this hotel and will stay here again when visiting Clifden.
Beautiful hotel with great bar and restaurant and views
Such a beautiful and relaxing place to explore this area! We felt very welcomed to the hotel and loved our stay in the Lodge. Also the food at the restaurant was delicious!
Really nice, family-run hotel. We spent one night, staff was fabulous, room beautiful, dinner excellent. Highly recommend this hotel.
Lovely setting and lovely stay.
Very warm welcome including cake. I was asked to write my name, email address and telephone number in the book on counter at reception. Same pen appeared to be used by all residents. Book left open on counter at all times so everyone's details were very visible to all.
Our room was beautifully decorated with a good view of the garden. It was spacious, with a tiny 19 inch television in the corner. Frustrating. Very comfortable couch with four scatter cushions plus eight more on the bed. They looked lovely but it was a surprise to see them there during Covid-19 restrictions. Very disappointed that none of the lights was strong enough for comfortable reading.
Our room was not cleaned during our four-night stay. Not sure if this is recommended due to Covid. We were offered replacement towels only, and after third night we were asked if we wanted vacuuming done. No extra tea/coffee bags offered after first day.
Breakfast was excellent. Orders were taken at table for cooked dishes which were really good. Everything else was on buffet table. While residents from one room went to it together, everyone used the same serving spoons, tongs, juice and milk jugs.
All in all, we did enjoy our stay.
Okay for one night. Property a bit older than expected.
Really nice hotel, super clean and confortable. Staff is incredibly nice and accommodating. Would recommend to anyone looking for a place to stay in Connemara
