Cons:

The phone in our room was not working. We reported it to reception, but unfortunately no repair was arranged. When we followed up again, we were told that someone could come to repair it while we were in the room. We didn’t have time to wait around in our room for a repair. This is something that should have been checked and fixed before the room was made available to guests.

Definitely stay here again
Pros:

Nice refurbishment of large rooms, although it was a little disappointing to see stains in the new carpet already.
Very comfortable beds and modern bathrooms with no shower over bath thank god.

Cons:

Breakfast on the more expensive side
Communications with some breakfast staff was difficult

Great location, very welcoming and relaxing, would recommend Pullman Cairns International
Pros:

I loved almost everything, great staff, beautiful hotel, very clean, breakfast is amazing such I variety of selection, pool area was beautiful very clean.

Cons:

When showering water kept going hot then cold, dinner menu didn’t have a good variety for me to eat

Good Harbour views, nice breakfast, but standards were far too low for the price.
Pros:

Breakfast was nice, great selection. Parking was safely secured, and the housekeeping staff were friendly. Good views of the harbour.

The reception staff member who checked us in was incredible, very friendly.

Our room had been overbooked, and Gerry was very professional in resolving the issue and offering complimentary breakfast.

Cons:

Unfortunately, there were several things which made our stay feel sub-par for the price paid.

The shower temperature went from hot to cold repeatedly making showering inconvenient.

The alarm clock next to our bed went off at 1am the first night we stayed, which woke us up. A 5 star hotel should be checking this.

The room did not come with a laundry bag, we had to request this at reception. The dryer in the laundry room didn’t dry our clothes properly, so had to go through twice, which also meant the guests behind us were also inconvenienced. Nowhere near enough machines for the number of guests, and those before us also had damp clothes.

The voicemail button on our phone was flashing red, and when we went to reception the person they sent up just unplugged it from the wall.

The room was incredibly run down (although this was advertised as unrenovated), there was no bath robes, and we weren’t provided with any cutlery apart from 2 spoons.

The pool was not heated, so it wasn’t warm enough to swim in.

The first morning we had breakfast, our table was given away while we went to get our food.

We had mixed experiences from reception, the staff during the weekend weren’t helpful and appeared unbothered.

TV was very small and connecting to the internet was difficult.

Overall, I feel quite let down. Although we were sent to Novotel Oasis for a night prior to staying here (and Gerry offered this for the full stay), our experience at Novotel was a 10/10 which made Pullman all the more disappointing. For a 5 star hotel, we shouldn’t have had to put up with so many of these issues. Novotel also offered laundry services, which Pullman did not.

This cost us a lot of money, and we stayed in several other locations in FNQ during our stay which were both cheaper and were of higher standard. We are not unreasonable, and give high marks where it’s deserved.

Please take this feedback on board as if you charge a premium price you should be providing premium experiences.

Hotel was very disappointing all round

Shower over bath with shower curtain, had to pay for bottled water, no bath robes, hotel looked tied and in need of renovations.

Very disappointing stay due to the poor condition, broken furniture and lack of maintenance.
Pros:

The location was convenient, but unfortunately there was not much else that we liked about the property.

Cons:

The property was in very poor condition and looked old and poorly maintained. The furniture was outdated, and some of the chairs were broken. Overall, the property needs significant maintenance, repairs and replacement of the old furniture.

Hard to find a fault but easy to point out what’s good.
Pros:

Quite impressed, from front of house to back. We had a refurbed room and it was really impressive apart from a large carpet stain . Bathrooms nice and spacious , beds great, facilities great, gym fantastic and very hygienic, pool/spa top notch but please open the onsite bar there or increase pool side food/drinks service hrs , staff lovely and all over every need. From the moment you walk in it feels 5 star quality.

It served the purpose for the one night stay
Pros:

The service from the front desk check in was really good helpful and welcoming I think her name was Laura Barman was good.

Cons:

Place needs a revamp very very run down, one of the two pools to be heated would be nice and seats and table on the balcony so it could be used
