Dusit Thani Mactan Cebu Resort

We’ve decided to spent the new year and our wedding anniversary in your property. We are extremely satisfied with the experience. Your staff made our stay a very memorable and pleasant experience. Heroshi, Ennan, Jm, I can’t remember all the names but they play a very important role in your success. From the front desk to the cleaning crew, kudos to their great work. Special shout out to the lifeguards, specifically Danny who’s always ready to help us with a smile. The intern, Rhea, who took her time to make a small conversation to alleviate our impatience while we were waiting for our room. The facility is great, very clean, spacious and modern.
To sum it all up, our stay is very memorable and will recommend your place. But none of this is possible without the staff whom tirelessly work with great attitude through this busy season.

We did not enjoy the beach. My baby was crying walking at the beach. It was stoney and rough. We dont have nice swimming because too many stones.

I had a great experience here at Dusit Thani Mactan—excellent service and a great hotel ambiance! I'll surely come back to experience all of the restaurants.

Would also like to express our disappointment in our experience here in your property.

Coming in with the knowledge of your recent Michelin choice bagde.. we expected a higher quality of service.

Upon arrival it was already chaos, no luggage tag given to us. Concierge wanted me to identify individually our luggage which was crazy because we are 3 families and 2 rooms.

Your promotion of having a "Santa" vs Nustar and other hotels.. we hoped for a Santa who looked like a Santa but that's just a small thing.

Your bottled water in the room was soooo little vs Seda Central Bloc, Shang Mactan who gave us glass bottles and not just 1 tiny bottle each.

Breakfast- no other hotel have we experienced being served sunny side up eggs on top of each other. 3 eggs for 3 people piled on top of each other which caused the yolk to break. Again, just a small thing but still showed a different caliber of attention to detail.

No bacon- we found out that you served bacon not from your server, but from another member of our group who ate earlier. Which again never experienced in my 35 years of life. Group of 5 people we were given 5 strips of bacon.

Your beach time! 8am to 5pm not allowed to swim! Never been to a resort that had such limited time restrictions! These times are impossible especially for the hot sun where best time to swim is as early as 6am and until 530pm depending on the sunset not because the lifeguard is going off the clock. NEVER been to a beach with the lifeguard yelling LAST 10 MINUTES- very laughable

This is our 1st travel with our baby, last year we tried Shang, and Crimson, and decided to try Dusit.. but this was a baaad idea. I am with my parents and inlaws.

Our server now I think manager on duty or supervisor 7am Dec 27 is making up for the terrible service during breakfast.

Your dessert, very bad idea on a hot lunch day to put icecream and halo halo outside with no chiller! My Halo halo upon sitting on my table quickly became soup! Same with the icecream.

The serving spoon in the shakshuka area- is placed on the food warmer. Which was way too hot to use!

French onion soup was terrible, Laksa tasted nothing like Laksa.

Many more things to mention but, these are the things we did not expect from an international brand who recently was part of the Michelin guide.

Also, the beach is very rocky and sand are like crushed rocks. Crimson and Shangri-la would be the best especially for traveling with infant/toddlers.

Aircon had molds by the way.

Will probably not be back next year for our annual Cebu trip.

Not good experience with the customer service especially if you are a day user. We paid more than the hotel room rate because we are a group. The staff gave us old towels and never informed us about the locker but it was already informed to us by the club house receptionist. The life guard gets mad to my sister when she did not attend to my son nearby in the beach. Racism is present in this hotel.

Room was flooded with condensation after we turned off the aircondition. This is the first time we’ve encountered a such, and we’ve always turn the aircon off in other big or small hotels in the Philippines and that never happened (like Henann in Bohol for example). This might be a construction failure, need to look into, because this is not normal. Fall hazard and risk for moulds in the future. But I already saw reviews like this on booking. com since 2023 so the hotel knows about the problem. This is only a problem for people like us who are not so keen of using aircondition but if you are a guest who wants the aircondition on 24/7 then no need to worry about flooded condensation rooms. The hotel has a big swimming pooI with a beautiful view. Excellent breakfast buffet! Big rooms!

Everything is good. The food,the crew, the service is excellent. I really love the place. All the crew are very hospitable and accomodating .

One of the most awesome places we've stayed and looking forward for more experiences with Dusit Thank. Dinner buffet is to die for. Thank you Dusit for accommodating our work family.

​Our family had a truly splendid stay at Dusit Thani Mactan Resort while celebrating my Mom’s birthday. We return to Dusit Time and again because the experience is always so worthwhile! The children absolutely loved the pool, with the bubble foam party being a major highlight for them. The food throughout our stay was equally delightful. We loved the amazing fireworks display too!!

Perfect place for a relaxing vacation. The facilities and rooms were excellent, and the food was absolutely amazing. What truly made our stay special was the warm and welcoming staff. We felt at home from the moment we arrived. Special thanks to JM, Ellen, Gail, Knives, Addie, Yuna, and Chef EJ for making our experience unforgettable.

It is fine. If you’re attending a conference here, it would be a lovely place to hang out. Otherwise due to the location, I would not recommend.

Pool: lovely. Very large, plenty of lounge chairs.

Restaurants: extraordinarily expensive and low value. Unfortunately, captive audience is there is absolutely nothing else in the area.

Staff: perhaps because it was low season, all of the staff we encountered were in training and plenty of mistakes were made. Nothing major, just not the service I expect from Dusit. (Example: I ordered a salad poolside: she delivered it without any cutlery. When I asked for cutlery, she brought back a spoon and a knife - for a lettuce salad! Again, nothing major just silly mistakes like this happened frequently).

We chose this resort over the Sheraton, despite having Marriott Bonvoy Platinum Elite status. Dusit Thani is a beachfront property, and we stayed for 2 nights to relax whilst in Cebu after we arrived from Bangkok. The location is amazing - quiet and away from city noise.

Check-in was smooth, and the lobby staff were polite and helpful.

Our deluxe club room was clean, spacious, and had a beautiful pool and sea view.

Breakfast was very good with plenty of choices. We especially enjoyed the Cebuano section. The breakfast staff were warm, attentive, and their friendliness made our mornings pleasant.

The swimming pool is huge and relaxing. The beach is small but beautiful, and the pool and beach staff were excellent.

The gym is quiet and has enough equipment for a workout, although it's obvious that some weights are not well maintained.

Our experience with the club lounge was mixed. The lounge is spacious and not crowded, but there were no light snacks available outside the afternoon tea and evening cocktail hours, which is usually expected in a hotel executive lounge, e.g. some fruits, cookies, etc. Staff presence was also lacking. There were several occasions when no staff were visible, including at the lounge front desk, who is supposed to greet and usher guests.

Drink service was very slow. I ordered that basic Earl Grey tea, which took over 15 mins to arrive, even though we were the only guests during afternoon tea on our 2nd day. Preparing Earl Grey is very straightforward, so the long wait was quite disappointing. Whilst the staff were friendly and polite when approached, they were not very proactive.

Overall, it was still a comfortable and relaxing stay. Improving the lounge service would help make this resort feel more like a true 4-star experience.

Great experience!.Our stay at Dusit Thani Mactan was relaxing and enjoyable. The staff were warm and attentive, the room was clean and comfortable, and the facilities—especially the pool—were excellent. Overall, a great place to unwind, and we would gladly stay here again.

Staff is extremely courteous and helpful. They went out of their way to make us comfortable. The property, swimming pools and beach is beautiful. It was very well decorated for Christmas.
Improvements: The rooms need refreshing. The fire alarm is right above the bed and keeps blinking all day. This is disturbing at night. If the air conditioner is turned off and balcony door opened, the whole room is covered with mist with water on the walls and floors. Requested for bacon thrice at breakfast but did not get it. Clothes iron in the room leaks water.

It was a wonderful experience and Israel was such a friendly person and takes nice and good photos. The other staff is very friendly too. We will surely come back.
