David is the most wonderful person to have ever helped us in any way at the Westin in Downtown San Diego. With his charming personality and always helpful advice, you literally can’t go wrong with David in your corner! Thank you David for always making sure we have the best time and to the Westin for finding such a GEM!
I had a wonderful stay at The Westin. The room was clean, spacious, and very comfortable, especially the bed, which made it easy to relax after a long day. The staff were friendly, professional, and always willing to help with anything I needed. The location was also very convenient—it took me about 18 minutes to walk to the convention center, which made getting around easy. I appreciated the peaceful atmosphere and how well-maintained everything was. I would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a comfortable and enjoyable hotel experience.
Connie at the font desk was supper helpful. Hotel was solid, the service.---Specifically Connie going out of her way to help me find some items I did not bring made it Great. Don't see customer service like that often anymore. Huge thanks!
The Westin San Diego Bayview is a beautiful, well-located hotel. We were able to walk everywhere we wanted to go from the hotel (Petco Park, water front). Hotel reception was friendly, courteous and helpful. We had breakfast at the restaurant twice, both ordering from the menu and the breakfast buffet. The food was excellent and so was the service. They also had a nice welcome reception for guests from 5-6:30 pm, with 2 free drinks and light snacks. Our room was very clean and comfortable, with a comfortable bed and nice, easy-to-use shower. The hotel shuttle was reliable and efficient. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would definitely stay there again.
I'm allergic to dust mites and have very mild asthma. I was so miserable even with medication that we left after one night of a planned four-night stay. No room windows open, so you can't air out the space and improve the air quality. I was fine outdoors and at the hotel we moved to, and have never had a problem at other Marriott properties.
My friends and I did a spring break staycation and had the best time! From James at the “social hour” to David, bartender extraordinaire to Monette the “boss,” they all made our experience unforgettable! Highly recommend!
We’ve been staying here for the weekend and everyone has been so great! Especially David, from the bar in the lobby. He is so welcoming and friendly, also his drink making skills are insane, definitely ask for an espresso martini 🥰
Bomb.com David was the best!!!! The bars food was fabulous💕💖 yummmm
I stayed at this hotel because it was the venue for a work conference I attended. Given a choice, I would not select this hotel for personal travel. I'll start with the positive: the location is excellent - near the train station and Little Italy. I didn't eat in the hotel restaurant, but my husband ate breakfast there, and he said the food was fine. Negatives: the conference started at 1:00 pm on Sunday. When we pulled up to the hotel around 12:40, the valet stand was overwhelmed. Cars were clogging the street, and it wasn't clear to anybody what we were supposed to do. The valets also apparently gave guests conflicting advice: we were told our best bet was to park in the garage across the street, while a colleague who drove separately was told there was no option other than the valet parking. Even if the valets are not hotel employees, better coordination and communication from hotel staff was obviously needed. No instructions about connecting to the wifi were provided at check-in, which is usually routine at all hotels. The elevators were very slow. One day, in a hurry, I decided to take the stairwell - big mistake. The stairwell was FILTHY - looked like it hadn't been cleaned since COVID. Our room was okay, but outlets and charging stations should have been more numerous and accessible. The desk chair was chipped and the upholstery on it looked faded - the chair should have been replaced long ago. The lighting design in the room was poor - there were dark areas, and switches weren't conveniently placed. The first shower I took, the bath gel dispenser came clattering off the wall; luckily, it didn't fall on my toes. Finally, a word about the hotel design, which was very confusing. It was difficult to navigate your way around the lobby to get to the escalators. There are exits to different streets, but they're not marked, so we had a hard time connecting with our Lyft driver. I realize the current hotel staff can't change a confusing design, but there could be much better signage (for example, "Columbia Street" over an exit, or "Escalators" with an arrow).
The hotel was very clean, comfortable and somewhere I would come back to without any hesitation. But, what really stood out was the hospitality and personalities. David really stood out with his kindness, charm and genuine care. He went out of his way to make sure my birthday away from family was awesome and in the days after continued to shine. I look forward to coming back!
Kiki at the lobby bar gave amazing service. She made a bad day better for me.
I would like to give accolades to my bartender at lunch. Harriet is lovely, personable and friendly. She went above and beyond to make my visit a memorable experience! She is a gem!!
Good service from Jordan and Khale
We had a wonderful time! Great location and excellent service! Specially from David at The Bar!
I have been to this hotel twice within the same month David and Kiko were my bartenders both times. Not only are they beyond friendly and professional but they truly work the bar with the care as if it were their own business. Their attention to detail
Is unmatched and their customer service is unlike I have ever seen from hotel bartenders before. I will always stay at the Westin in San Diego as long as they are here!
Overall stay was great! Staff were great from the front desk agents , bartender( David) and security( the gentleman with the dreads was super friendly) through my entire stay.
The only thing I didn’t enjoy was the mattress in my room. I felt like I was sinking into it and my back was hurting each morning, wasn’t the typical Marriott standard mattress.
The hotel itself was nice, staff was great, bar and restaurant were quite pleasant. Location was great for waterfront / Gaslamp access. The AC in the room struggled, and with the large windows taking in sun we couldn’t get the room below 72-73 most of the time. The bathroom also had no fan or ventilation, so showers added to the rooms warmth.
The property is absolutely beautiful, the views from room 1417 were phenomenal, I just wanted to sit on the window sill looking out at the amazing view!
Connie checked me in and was such a kind and pleasant woman, she was fun to chat with and a great welcome. She even shared a favorite recipe with me.
The business rooms were nicely appointed and the catering was good.
I loved being close enough to walk to Little Italy and the harbor. Overall the experience was wonderful. I would be thrilled to stay here again.
I have been staying at this location when on business in excess of six years. I typically arrive very late at night both hungry and in search of a libation. Recently, the hotel made a new addition to their bar staff, Monette (aka Mona 😆). A bubbly young woman who always greets patrons with a smile. If you ask her to make her “best” Old Fashioned at the end of the evening, she always obliges and sets about with a mixologist’s determination rarely seen. I recommend weary travelers always seek out the house chips and salsa as a salty addition to the cold beverages. Monette is surrounded by a staff of others who also bring a welcomed addition to the experience, so when you drop your bags and want a great conclusion to your adventures, no need to look further than The Bar at The Westin San Diego Bayview!
I’ll be back…. again….. and again…. and again!
Justin and Brook took excellent care of our vehicle throughout our stay. They were professional, prompt and kind.
